Secrets and Half Truths

I jerked awake in the early hours of the morning, panting. I raised my hand to my chest trying to calm down my beating heart. My dreams had been filled with the constant tapping of shoes, the ticking of a clock and a shadow hand reaching for my throat, silently choking me. I couldn't shout. I couldn't fight. I had laid there while I was being suffocated to death. I had tried to talk, but I had not been able to find my voice.

The dream had felt so real, to the point that my throat hurts. I placed my hand on my throat, checking if any mark had followed. Luckily nothing there.

It was just a dream.

I turned to look at the digital clock beside me, 5:30am. Laila would be here soon, Zayn was probably gone after last night. I was truly alone right now.

I bit my lips in nervousness, running my shaky hands through my sweat-damped hair. As my panting eased, a different sound filled the air.

A shout. Multiple Screams.
