Magician Jack asked the driver how far that building was from his current location. The taxi cab driver replied, "If you go in my taxi, you'll be there in 40 minutes."
Magician Jack inquired about the cost, to which the driver responded, "It's $20 USD." Magician Jack agreed and got into the taxi.
At 9 a.m. in the morning, MARIA left her flat with her son Hanry, her dog Sootra, and as part of her routine, she dropped them at daycare during her job timing from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and she went to her restaurant.
MARIA was showing a lot of interest and happiness in her work. The staff and the restaurant's boss, John, seemed pleased with Maria due to her success the previous day when she handled a drunk customer. MARIA exuded confidence.
Meanwhile, Magician Jack was on his way to MARIA's flat. Upon arriving outside her flat, he paid the taxi driver and started examining the building, remembering the video shown to him by Master Chan in the forest.
Magician Jack took a stroll around the building, keeping an eye on the entrance of the apartment she resided in, but he couldn't find her.
By noon, Magician Jack decided to get a room near MARIA's apartment to keep an eye on her and plan his next move. After searching, he found a hotel. He entered and asked the receptionist about room availability. The receptionist confirmed that there were many rooms.
The Magician Jack requested a room with a west-facing window. The receptionist inquired about the reason for his preference, and the Magician explained his love for watching sunsets while sipping coffee.
The receptionist checked and found a room on the 5th floor with a west-facing window and a balcony. The Magician Jack agreed to take it. They went to the room, and the Magician was satisfied with the view. After completing the paperwork, the Magician received the key from the receptionist and settled into the room, positioning himself by the window to keep an eye on the building.
Meanwhile, around 4 p.m., Maria's shift was ending at the restaurant. As she prepared to leave, a man named Saim, her psychologist, entered the restaurant. He approached the reception and coincidentally ran into Maria, who seemed surprised and happy to see him.
They chatted briefly, and SAIM noticed MARIA's bag, realizing she was about to leave.
MARIA explained her routine of picking up her son and pets from daycare.
MARIA asked SAIM why he was at the restaurant, and he mentioned he was there to buy some items, including bread.
MARIA offered to get the items for him, while she placed the order and paid; another receptionist took over her duties.
The new receptionist informed MARIA that she could leave.
SAIM offered to give MARIA a ride, but she initially declined, mentioning her stops at the daycares.
SAIM insisted, and MARIA eventually agreed, as SAIM was headed in the same direction. She got into SAIM's car heading to the daycare site.
On the other side, the Magician Jack continued observing the building where Maria lived, but he hadn't seen her yet.
Maria, with Saim, her psychologist, reached the daycare. Maria picked her son, Henry, and from there, a little further down from another site, she got her dog, Sootra, and sat back in Saim's car, now headed to the apartment where Maria resides.
Saim: "What is the name of the beautiful boy's painting in Maria's son's hands during the drive?"
Maria: "He is Henry, my life."
Saim: "Henry, what a lovely name."
Maria: "Yes, Hanry was the name of my dad." While recalling his name, she became upset and tears welled up in her eyes as she remembered her parents.
Saim: Looking at MARIA, he said, "I am sorry, I made you upset!"
Maria: Clearing her eyes with a tissue, she replied, "No, it's okay, Saim. I'm upset about my fate."
Saim: "Don't blame fate. In life, ups and downs come and go. We can't bring back our loved ones, but we can make them happy by keeping ourselves happy, as they would want."
Maria, regaining her confidence, said, "Yes, you're right, Saim. You're a very good person."
The Magician Jack still kept an eye on the main gate of the building where Maria lives from a room window, hoping to catch sight of her.
Maria reached her flat and opened the door. Her cat was already there to welcome her. She loved her. Maria looked happier compared to earlier days. Maybe she had developed confidence due to counseling from Saim, her psychologist, or perhaps due to Saim's company.
Magician Jack started making plans on how to harm Maria. He opened a book and began to write down his plan, including the time of Maria's arrival, details about her son Henry, and the person who left him. He pondered on this person's identity and their connection to Maria. The dark smoke ghost was present in the magician's room, unnoticed by him.
"The Magician Jack was now making plans about how to catch Maria, thinking it over for the whole night, and then decides that he will monitor all of Maria's daily routines and act on his plan once he finds a good time and place. So, Magician Jack woke up early in the morning at dawn in his hotel room and started looking at the building gate where Maria lived.
On the other side, it was sunrise. Maria woke up early in the morning to the sound of her alarm. Following the advice of her psychologist, SAIM, she decided to start morning jogging in a nearby garden.
She woke up feeling happy and took her dog Sootra and her son, Hanry, as Maria arrived at the main exit gate of her building and started to head outside on the road. Magician Jack kept his eyes on that exit gate.
When he saw Maria, he rushed down and started following her. Magician Jack had changed his appearance just in case Maria recognized him.
Magician Jack started to follow her while a black smoke ghost was also following Magician Jack. Maria reached the gardens and started jogging, enjoying her walk with her dog and her son. During the walk, she seemed to be searching for someone, possibly Saim, whom she met yesterday and spent some time with in his car.
After her routine, she sat down on a bench in the garden, the same one she rested on after jogging, allowing her baby Hanry and her dog to play. She looked around but didn't find Saim. She thought that Saim told her he jogged there daily, but he wasn't there today. After a while, she took Hanry and started heading back to her apartment.
The Magician Jack continued to follow her, carefully observing all of Maria's activities at the
garden, he followed her until she reached her apartment building. Once Maria disappeared from his view, Magician Jack returned to his hotel room, keeping an eye on the exit gate of the building where Maria resides.
Magician Jack was preparing himself and getting ready to follow her again when she came out of her building. Meanwhile, in her apartment, Maria freshened up and prepared to go to her job at the restaurant. As she exited her building, Magician Jack noticed and rushed down from his hotel to follow Maria.
At a corner of the road, Maria waited for a bus to take her to the restaurant. A double-decker bus arrived, and Maria boarded it. Magician Jack also entered the bus and stood in a corner to remain unnoticed by Maria.
After 15 minutes, the bus stopped, and Maria got off. Magician Jack followed her as she walked for a couple of minutes and reached the daycare center where she routinely dropped off her son Hanry. She then returned to the bus stop, waiting for another bus. As the next bus arrived, Maria boarded it, and Magician Jack continued to follow her, carefully observing her activities.
