The Elder Sosnake Demon shook his head and said, "We can't compete with those Soldier Demons. Just one fully armed squad could kill everyone here."
But Batman was looking at him and said, "That's why I want to barricade the main entrance. This might provoke the Rotting Heart General, but once the Central Mine loses contact with the outside world, the General will definitely think that the entire mine has rebelled."
"Apart from our mine, there are more than 60 other mines in the Central Mine. In the lowest-level mines, there are many powerful entities such as Magma Demons, Mud Monsters, and Dark Red Giant Demons."
"They're still in the dark, while my plan is to shut the main entrance and pull them into the rebel army."
The Elder So Snake Demon was enlightened. "Exactly, if the Central Mine is cut off from the outside world now, the Supervisors and Rotting Heart General will surely assume all the demons here have revolted collectively, even if the demons in the other mines haven't done so..."
"In that case, they won't distinguish between friend or foe when they attack the mines. They would just throw all the demons into the Magma, and once the other demons know about this, they would have no choice but to unite and resist the Rotting Heart General..."
"Exactly, my plan is to drag everyone into this." Batman said with a deep voice: "I don't believe that the Rotting Heart General would dare use Magic to blow up the entire mine."
"Right now, Demon Lord Beelzebub is eager to send troops to the frontline. If the Seven Mountains Mine is the first to have issues, becoming the target, the Rotting Heart General will surely get into trouble as well. Hence, he needs to maintain stability and avoid stirring up too much trouble. At the same time, he also needs enough manpower to help him mine to fulfill his promise to Beelzebub."
"All these factors combined, create our opportunity to turn defeat into victory. This war might just be the break we need."
After Batman finished talking, he turned and walked deeper into the mine. He left his whip with the Elder So Snake Demon to unlock the shackles of everyone, while he went to other mines to inform other demons.
Even though the main gate isn't fully sealed yet, in Batman's words, this had already become a 'burn one's own boats' battle. He painfully explained the pros and cons of the situation to the demons in the other mines. The central idea being: "I've already got everyone to rebel, if you don't rebel, you'll be labelled as troublemakers and thrown into the Sea of Magma to await death. Can we afford to die like this?"
Most demons couldn't understand why he was rebelling against the Rotting Heart General. But now, the fact was clear: this madman had fired the first shot, with the head of Chief Supervisor Jacob becoming the rallying flag. Once the main entrance to the Central Mine was sealed, all the demons in the various mines had been driven into a corner.
Indeed, this move worked. The majority of the demons, after their initial anger and fear, had no choice but to start looking for a way out. The first thing they intended to do was to seek out and kill all the Supervisors in the mines.
As for whether or not to rebel, that could be decided later. Absolutely, they could not let these Supervisors run away to tattle. Even if they were destined to die eventually, they were determined to kill the Supervisors ahead of their own deaths.
After killing the Supervisors who had been oppressing them, many of the demons were like blood-thirsty beasts ignited by instinct, particularly the stronger and older ones. They began roaring and howling like the Demon Soldiers on the battlefield.
Having killed the Supervisors, there was no need for the Eye Demons to survive either. The Demons, complying with their boiling instincts for bloodlust, eliminated all the Eye Demons as well.
Countless demons circled around the Sea of Magma underground, their fists pounding the ground in anger, their roars becoming louder, their thirst for blood becoming stronger.
The entrances to all caves in the Central Mine were sealed off completely. During this time, many Supervisors came to check over the situation, attempting to breach the main entrance with violence.
However, Supervisors were not particularly powerful demons. Under the military state, those who were truly powerful had already risen through the ranks in the army. Even those who did not take the traditional path of promotion joined the elite troops of the Rotting Heart General rather than becoming a Supervisor straddling the middle.
Because their capabilities were only slightly more than common demons but did not qualify for officer rank, they ended up in such a position. Therefore, they did not have command over any powerful casting magic. The only thing that reflected their might, their whips, did not have much effect against the gate built with ore.
But everyone was aware that such probing attacks were just an appetizer. True to prediction, on the third day after the Central Mine was sealed off, the formal troop under the Rotting Heart General arrived.
On top of the Central Mine, Batman directed the demons to set up several watchtowers. Information about the troops moving out flashed across the sky like shooting stars, one by one lighting up all the watchtowers. Batman saw armies converging like a sea between the Seven Mountains Mine.
In just half a day, the Central Mine was under heavy siege. Inside the largest cave of the Central Mine, representatives of various types of demons were solemn and serious, but there was not much fear in their expressions.
In these three days, they were not unprepared. After killing the Supervisors to rally their spirits and rouse their bloodlust, Batman organized various tribes to show their abilities and build fortifications. The demons each performed their duties, willingly trained, and several drills yielded good results, greatly boosting their confidence.
Batman once again jumped to the top of the mound, looking around, he knew, situations had now reached a critical point – a hell of a start.
In the high ranks, he was alone without a strategist, a staff team, or even a proper command post that he could organize. As for the lower ranks, both in terms of the number of soldiers and their quality, they were far behind their counterparts.
Batman's era was decades away from the last large-scale war. He had never experienced a full-blown war and therefore lacked strategic reserves and combat experience.
The quality of the soldiers was poor, their bodies were not strong enough, their minds were not agile enough, they were almost uneducated, and they had no practical combat experience.
Equipment and logistics were almost non-existent. While there were plenty of ores here, there were no means to smelt them. However abundant the resources were, it would be futile if they couldn't be safeguarded.
From this perspective, this was almost an impossible war to win. Nevertheless, Batman hadn't lost confidence.
Because deep within his knowledgeable brain, which had absorbed knowledge from all ages, there was a piece of real human history.
Images from old movies crossed Batman's vision. The train wheels crushed the tracks while the rallying horn pierced through the smoke. The hasty start of the war, the despairing gap in capabilities, he was reminded of how a group of people managed to win one miraculous battle after another when the powerful cannons of ironclad ships opened the door to the old Eastern Kingdom. This bitter, painful yet legendary history revealed to Batman what defined 'hell' and who dared to replace it with a 'new heaven'.
