One point that often comes up when telling the background story of the Green Lantern Corps is that the Green Lanterns are afraid of yellow light energy.
Logically, although the lantern corps vary in color, they do not counteract each other as in online games, and all corps are basically equal, representing different emotions. Therefore, their colors vary, and there is no rule that one will restrain the other. So, why are the Green Lanterns weak against yellow light?
This issue goes back to those unfortunate Little Blue People.
As the most intelligent life forms first born in the cosmos, and a super-civilization developed for countless millennia, they, like other civilizations, worried about the betrayal of the corps they created after forging the Green Lantern Corps from the Emotional Spectrum of the cosmos.
Then, this immensely powerful race, in order to prevent the Green Lantern Corps from betraying them, came up with an exquisite idea – they stuffed the fearful Yellow Lantern Beast, Parallax, into the central power battery of the Green Lantern.
The Green Lantern Central Power Battery could seal up Parallax, and at the same time, since Parallax invaded the Central Power Battery of the Green Lantern, it resulted in a blind spot in the Green Lantern Spectrum. Thus, the yellow light energy became the Green Lanterns' weakness. Contacting this kind of energy would, at the least, resulted in total loss of strength, or, at worst, made them extremely weak.
Then, the Little Blue People painted their houses yellow, thinking that this would keep the Green Lanterns from attacking them.
This plan, no matter how many times it is repeated, is so stupid that it's almost laughable.
But, regardless, the Little Blue People did indeed succeed. After they stuffed Parallax into the Green Lantern Central Power Battery, the yellow light became the Green Lanterns' weakness. The comic-savvy Shiller, of course, knew how to deal with the Green Lanterns.
Previously, because of the absence of Parallax, Pikachu absorbed a large amount of energy from the Yellow Lantern Central Power Battery, compensating for the absence of the Lantern Beast, thus rightfully becoming the Yellow Lantern Beast.
Therefore, just like the Little Blue People, as long as Shiller stuffed the Yellow Lantern Beast into the Central Power Battery of the Green Lantern Corps, the yellow light could again become the Green Lanterns' weakness.
Of course, Shiller didn't have a Yellow Lantern, and although he could summon a Yellow Lantern Ring, after Batman and Aisha teamed up to beat up Sinestro last time, Sinestro definitely blacklisted this city. Thus, Shiller might not be able to summon a Yellow Lantern Ring.
But that's okay, they have something even better than a Yellow Lantern Ring. That's the original Yellow Light Beast Parallax, now Batman's daughter, Aisha.
Aisha, who transformed from Parallax, was reincarnated, but not completely.
She used the Laughing Egg's shell to become a mini-Bruce, but at the same time, her inner self is still Parallax, which means she naturally has the ability to mobilize the "fear" emotional spectrum energy in the universe.
However, in order to turn the fear emotion into energy, a Lantern Furnace is needed, and Gotham certainly doesn't have one. Therefore, Aisha should have no energy, like a discharged cell phone that you can use in theory, but because there's no power bank, it can't be turned on.
But don't forget that in Gotham City, there is the darkest source of fear in all of DC — Batman.
When Shiller, holding Aisha, arrived at the top of the building and saw the Green Lanterns descending like auroras, Aisha didn't immediately rush up to find her chewing rod. Instead, she turned her head back and forth as if looking for someone.
Suddenly, she stopped. Her gaze fell on a distant point, as if she had found what she was looking for, then "swish", she disappeared.
At this moment, Batman was standing on top of another high-rise, adjusting his Batplane. Seeing the green lights descending from the sky, he knew that a tough battle was waiting for him.
"Bang!" There was a loud noise from the outside of the cockpit. Batman, slightly puzzled, tilted his head. Then, he pressed a button, and when the cockpit door opened, a small figure darted right into it, going straight for Batman.
"Wa wa wa wa! Wa wa!!"
Batman: "…?"
Aisha "wa"-ed for a long time, but Batman didn't understand a word. In the end, Aisha became a bit impatient and opened her mouth to let out a big roar.
In an instant, Batman felt a moment of trance. In his sight quickly passed some broken images: a pitch-black night sky, narrow alleyways, muted gunshots, scattered pearls...
These images went by so fast that he could barely see them before they whizzed past. And this illusion lasted only a brief moment. Then, his vision was filled with a dense yellow light.
The Aisha in his arms was like a flashing lantern, emitting dazzling yellow light. Her eyes turned into golden slits, two horns grew out of her forehead, and a large tail appeared on her back.
She rose into the air, drifted out of Batman's arms, then disappeared in an instant, appearing in the middle of the battlefield.
Tylenol, who had just arrived in Gotham and was observing the city's situation, saw a light ball, like a sun, falling before him. On closer inspection, there was a little girl at the center of the light ball.
Tylenol was confused for a moment, then felt a familiar source of energy. He shouted, "Yellow Lantern?! Damn it! It's a trap! Sinestro's trap!!!"
"Get away!!!"
Accompanying his roar were the ripples spreading from the center of the light ball. The yellow light pierced through the wind, snow, and clouds, lighting up the night sky of the East Coast in silent stillness.
Clark, who was standing nearby, watched as the Green Lanterns fell like dumplings into Gotham City under the bright yellow light.
After landing, their green glow dimmed, much like a dying bulb failing to produce light.
The light from the Green Lantern Rings was also drastically weakened, barely forming a soft green coating, protecting their bodies. The once-bright green light was now barely visible, seeming to disappear at any moment.
Clark crossed his arms, looking down at the Green Lanterns scattering all over the place then he looked up to see Tylenol, the only Green Lantern Corps member still flying, and the current leader of the Corps.
Being the Corps leader, Tylenol was powerful enough to withstand one of Aisha's special attacks without losing his flight capabilities. He barely managed to maintain his composure when he saw a destructive red beam heading towards him.
Despite Tylenol's effort to dodge, his arm got hit. The green light instantly shattered, and the ring began to flicker, sounding constant energy warning alarms. Tylenol yelled, "Who are you? Wait, are you Kryptonians? Why are you here?!"
Clark was puzzled upon hearing Tylenol's words. He didn't understand the term "Kryptonians" that Tylenol mentioned. As Tylenol was about to explain further, a yellow energy ball flew at him from behind, hitting his back and sending him flying, courtesy of Aisha.
One green and one yellow, like shooting stars, they streaked across the sky, eventually crashing into the roundabout at Gotham City Center.
Clark and Batman, who had just flown in his Batplane, looked down at the mushroom cloud rising from the city center roundabout, shaking their heads in unison, and sighed.
"Hey, Batman, what are you doing here?"
As Clark waved at the Batplane, he flew next to it, speaking as they flew together, "Wow! Cool plane, can I get in?"
"No." Batman in the plane firmly declined his request.
"Oh come on, I admit, you're a genius, and you've got great taste. This plane is too cool. I've only seen planes like this in model books. I bet if you made it a model, it would sweep all the awards!" Clark replied.
Batman hesitated visibly at his words, but at that moment, Clark leaned forward and gently patted the wing of the Batplane.
The Batplane was sent spinning off into the distance.
Inside the plane, Batman fought to control the plane, but was unable to correct its course after the immense force. It became a black shooting star streaking across the sky, crashing into the city center roundabout in Gotham city.
Shiller was standing on the rooftop, watching another mushroom cloud rise from the city center, he shook his head and sighed.
At this time, the Green Lanterns that Aisha had hit to the ground with her EMP blast were finally regaining their senses.
The EMP drained most of the energy in their rings, even damaging them. Flying, teleporting, and phasing, none of these functions were available any longer.
The dizzy Green Lanterns rose to their feet, only to find themselves facing the menacing black barrels of the Gotham Gang's guns.
One by one, streetlights began to turn on, illuminating each street as crowds of people began to pour out of their homes. This stunning scene wasn't a celebration, but rather, the only event in this City of Sin that could unite its citizens – a manhunt.
On the dark streets, the roaring sound of engines rang out. Upon hearing it, one of the Green Lanterns, a faint green light emanating from him, turned to look. At the end of the alley, the glow of two haunting lights appeared.
The headlights of a truck lit up the alley as if it were daytime. The only darkness left was the shadow the Green Lantern cast. With the help of the bright lights, he could see the driver was a heavily-bearded man holding a shotgun.
The Fisherman got out of the truck, guiding each step with his gun. The Green Lantern didn't flee, but instead took a defensive stance, ready to respond to an attack.
The blast from the shotgun rang out. However, a blinding green light stunned the Fisherman. By the time he was able to lower his arm, the Green Lantern had disappeared over the wall at the end of the alley.
The Fisherman walked over, spotting the shotgun pellets on the ground. Releasing a sigh, he turned to Skinny, his passenger: "Call the Boss and let him know that regular weapons still have no effect on them. Never thought their weak green light could still block bullets."
The Fisherman got back in his truck with Skinny closing the door. Listening to the start of the engine, Skinny lit a cigarette, speaking in despair, "They already know. But, there aren't enough of those new Freeze Guns for everyone. Probably fighting over it in the North District now."
The Fishman took a puff of his cigarette, releasing a cloud of smoke as he turned the steering wheel, a smirk spread across his face.
"Don't worry. Even if you include every dock worker in the East District, I'm still the best sharpshooter around. I'll definitely get a gun. Then…hmm…"
In the cab, the flickering cigarette light reflected off Fisherman's rugged face, making it even more sinister. His smile gradually froze as he revved the engine and asked,
"Are you afraid of ghosts?"
Skinny also smirked and responded coldly,
"Ghosts? There are no ghosts in Gotham, only corpses."
