Acting Annoyingly Smug About Having a Wife

Calix and Leslie ended up changing their plan. Instead of returning in the late afternoon, they had dinner together with Old Madam Xu.

The spouses unisonly acknowledged the old lady's desire to spend more time with them, leading to them extending their visit. Yet, they had to decline the offer of staying the night.

Old Madam Xu, Butler Gu and two maids sent Calix and Leslie off to the front door. Mrs. An and Logan were also there with them.

The moon was already high up in the sky. The clock pointed to a little after eight. They had an early dinner tonight.

"We'll come and spend time... with you again, Grandma..." said Leslie while holding Old Madam Xu's wrinkly hands, "Thank you for your... hospitality today... I enjoyed talking to you..."

After waking up from their nap, Old Madam Xu told Calix and Leslie to gather back in the lounge. She took the chance to show her new granddaughter-in-law a few of the family photo albums.
