Project 70

"Comrade Marshal, let me introduce you to Project 70. The project began in the 1970s as a response to the American B-1 Lancer bomber program, to create a supersonic, long-range bomber with variable-sweep wings and advanced avionics. We expect the plane to have a maximum speed of 2 Mach in the end." Blinzkyuk explained to Orgarkov aside.

"The problem is, according to the original idea, this plane should have to withstand NATO's powerful air defence network, force a breakthrough and launch the missiles on the aircraft. So the plane is more like an airborne missile platform, its only mission is to carry the missile to the range and launch it."

"But for now, we are thinking about whether this is necessary, from what we know, the orcs, undead or even the human kingdom in this world, does not have a strong air defence network, our conventional and ICBM can easily strike their city. Due to the poor development of the Soviet electronic industry, the current Soviet radar and electronic devices are mostly big and low efficiency to get an equivalent performance compared to those in NATO.

Brinzkyuk quickly took out a book and noted down what Orgarkov had just said. Ustinov also nodded his head, as in the end, he is the one who decides whether or not this weapon should be put into production.

"Orgarkov, I heard that you said fighters can not do it in the current stages due to their limited size, so, in your opinion, what should our latest or even the next generation should be?" This time Ustinov turns to ask.

Orgarkov has a sigh in his heart, his answer may damage the interest of many people.

"Comrade Ustinov, I do not have much professional knowledge about aviation, I can only say that no matter how it develops, in the future our aviation should have the ability to have better coordination with the ground forces, better communication with the command post, better efficiency and most importantly they can achieve what information needed, and all this require strong electronic devices."

"Instead of just operating missions mechanically that are planned by the general staff like now, I hope they can have direct communication with the troops at the front, skipping the command post in the middle, with this we can perform a higher efficiency and accurate air support."

"I understand that this may be a conflict with our current doctrine, but this is a necessary change, not only in aviation but in the ground and navy. The night that the undead ambush caused my general staff in chaos, many of our troops can be said unorganized in the first few hours because of lost communication with the command post, causing very heavy casualties."

Brinzykuk and Koldunov remain silent and look at Ustinov, what Orgarkov said is significant that they do not have the right to comment. If what he said is to be operated, then this will be a great revolution and change to the whole Red Army.

Ustinov seems to be thoughtful,

"So this is what you mean by your information warfare doctrine? It will be great construction for even for our few million of the army before the war, never mind, we will have another discussion later. The time is going late, have a good rest tonight, the meeting tomorrow is significant, but I believe you will be interested in it after hearing all these."

The group parted ways.

Orgarkov is in the car while returning, looking at the views outside thinking of that conversation just now. The research and development of Project 70 is to break through the NATO strong air defence force, so doesn't it mean that no matter how strong the defence is, it still can be broken by using a stronger brutal force?

If according to this logic, the reason why the tunnel built by the orcs causes the superior firepower of the Red Army to be limited, is because the firepower is not superior enough. Thinking of the current Red Army firepower sources, they mainly come from vehicles, artillery, planes etc that are considered heavy equipment and difficult to fight in mountains and forests.

But how about equipment from the soldiers? Thinking of here, Orgarkov has now got an idea of how to deal with these tunnels. In the long-term development of the Red Army, the general staff most of the time always ignored the importance of infantry equipment, causing until now, in a standard infantry squad, soldiers are only equipped with AKs, machine guns and RPGs.

Apart from ground vehicles, the only few things that can support infantry assault are only air force and artillery, but these will be affected in the mountains, forest and tunnel. If there is something that can easily carry and be used by infantry but also provides strong fire support, Orgarkov now can only think of UAV. Perhpas the idea of the Germna Goliath can be used.
