Despite his imprisonment, Barty Crouch remained loyal to the Ministry.

On hearing news of Voldemort, he stood up for the first time and tried to help them come up with ideas.

"Dumbledore!" Barty Crouch suddenly thought, his eyes lighting up.

"Dumbledore can stand up and lead the situation!"

"Enough!" Ethan cut him off.

"You don't need to worry about this. Your main focus should be on your trial." With that, Ethan left Barty Crouch's room.

Ethan organized Barty Crouch's statements and handed them to an Auror guarding the door.

He instructed the Auror to give them to Fudge, who seemed eager to see Barty Crouch's interrogation materials.

After Barty Crouch's interrogation, the next target was Barty Crouch Jr.

Unlike with Barty Crouch, many Aurors stood outside Barty Crouch Jr.'s room.

Ethan noticed scars on several of their faces.

"He's been resisting!" an Auror quickly explained upon seeing Ethan observing his wound.

Ethan nodded and then opened the door to the room where Barty Crouch Jr. was held.

Out of respect for Ministry of Magic officials, Barty Crouch's room was fine, and he was not treated harshly.

But Barty Crouch Jr. was not so lucky.

His face was covered with scars, and he was locked to the table in an awkward and uncomfortable position.

It seemed the Aurors had greatly caused him to suffer before Ethan arrived.

"Explain!" Ethan demanded as he sat down across from Barty Crouch Jr.

"Hahaha," Barty laughed harshly.

"My father must have told you everything you want to know! He is so loyal to that ridiculous Ministry!"

"My master! My master is coming back soon! The whole world will be crawling under his feet!" Barty said with a crazed look.

"Shut up, Barty. We already know Voldemort made a Horcrux!" Ethan said impatiently.

Barty complexion turned pale. He hadn't expected such an important secret to be discovered.

"How did you find out?" Barty asked in a hoarse voice.

"The Ministry isn't full of fools!" Ethan retorted.

"Okay, chat time is over! You need to answer some of my questions now!"

"Don't think about it!" said Barty through gritted teeth.

"Come on, Barty," Ethan said impatiently.

"Do you want to be executed? Even if you don't value your life, your mother gave hers to save you!"

At the mention of his mother, Voldemort's most loyal Death Eater showed a flicker of emotion, but it quickly vanished.

"Tell me! How much do you know about Sirius Black?" Ethan asked, frowning.

"Even if I die, I won't say anything!" Barty yelled frantically.

Ethan frowned and raised his hidden wand.

"Crucio!"

A red light hit Barty.

He roared in pain, his body twitching on the table as he remained locked in place.

After a while, Ethan lifted the curse with a wave of his wand.

"Are you going to talk now, Barty?" he asked coldly.

"I'll talk! I'll talk!" Barty slumped on the table and replied in a trembling voice.

"Sirius Black contacted us early on! After he became James Potter and Lily Potter's Secret Keeper, he immediately informed the Dark Lord!"

Barty was cunning. Even after enduring the Cruciatus Curse, he tried to frame an innocent person and protect his master.

"You're lying!" Ethan said sharply, punching Barty Crouch Jr. in the stomach.

"I know that Sirius Black was framed! It was Peter Pettigrew who betrayed James and Lily Potter!" Ethan whispered in Barty's ear, ensuring this sentence wasn't recorded in the notebook documenting the conversation.

"How?" He looked at Ethan in shock. He couldn't understand how Ethan knew so many of his master's secrets. There was only one explanation: someone in their inner circle had betrayed them.

"Someone betrayed the Dark Lord, didn't they?" Barty yelled at Ethan.

"Tell me who it is! I'll tear them apart!" His face twisted with rage.

"It's none of your business!" Ethan said. He took a small bottle of clear liquid from his pocket and forcefully opened Barty's mouth, dropping a few drops in.

Barty struggled to avoid the potion but ultimately failed. The potion, a powerful Veritaserum, went down his throat.

Barty opened his eyes, which became dull, and his facial muscles gradually relaxed.

"Can you hear me?" Ethan asked coldly.

Barty's eyelids trembled violently as he tried to resist the effects of the Veritaserum, but eventually, he gave in.

"I can," he replied in a low, dull voice.

"Who betrayed the Potters?" Ethan asked.

He took a deep, trembling breath and then spoke in a flat, emotionless tone.

"It was Peter Pettigrew. We captured him. We thought he would be tough, but he surrendered easily. He kept giving us information until he betrayed James and Lily Potter."

Ethan finally had the truth he sought, strengthening the evidence to clear Sirius Black's name.

"Where is Voldemort hiding now?" Ethan asked again.

Barty eyelids twitched violently. "I don't know. I anticipated I might be caught, so I cast an Obliviate spell on myself to forget the Dark Lord's location."

Ethan took a deep breath. He hadn't expected Barty to be so ruthless as to cast an Obliviate spell on himself.
