Mary was looking at the black-haired man lying face down on the bed to her left. His body was quite muscular, and despite wearing loose clothing, his biceps were well-defined, stretching and tensing as he moved in his sleep.
"A fitting appearance for the leading man."
While Mary gazed emotionlessly at the man, she was organizing and arranging the events of the past week in her mind, putting them in order to clarify her plan. For the past two days, the Crown Prince, reminiscent of the old, slightly balding kahyan, had met with his fiancée.
"Your Highness, today is Wednesday, well as Amorilith. It's the day for your weekly meeting with your fiancée, Amnessia."
"Okey Valnric."
Thanks to Valnric's speech, the concern of not knowing which day it was had disappeared from Mary's mind. Additionally, Mary had learned that, unlike her original world, Wednesday was referred to by a different name here, and this special circumstance applied to other days as well. Valnric had emphasized the importance of Wednesday and Thursday for couples among the eight days of the week. Through Valnric's lengthy explanation, Mary had learned that a week in this world consisted of eight days, and each day was associated with the names of eight major gods. For example, Wednesday and Thursday were dedicated to the Goddess of Love and Marriage, Heliominoes.
Wednesday was known as "Amorilith," but it wasn't forbidden to still call it Wednesday in this world. On Amorilith, couples believed that their relationship problems were resolved, and their love and affection were strengthened. Therefore, couples, except in challenging situations, would come together every Wednesday. If one of the partners didn't meet with their significant other on that day, it was believed they didn't love them.
The next day, Valnric came again, reminding the Crown Prince, who was reading documents while sipping tea at the table. Mary knew today was Thursday, and she had learned that Thursday was also known as "Harmoniusa."
Harmoniusa was believed to be a day when the coldness and tension between couples decreased, and it prevented interference from third parties in relationships. Additionally, it was considered an auspicious day for engagement and marriage.
According to legend, it was the day when the King of the Gods, Hepherter, and the Queen of the Gods, Polien, fell in love and their bodies united. It was believed that Polien gave birth to the universe on Harmoniusa. Therefore, some people engaged in extra dedicated work with their partners on this day to increase fertility and resolve infertility.
Mary sighed, complaining about the monotony of the day. If her body could move, she could execute her plans more quickly. Additionally, she didn't know she could speak. She had a mouth but didn't move it, and even if she did, she didn't have vocal cords.
"Tomorrow is Saturday, and the Crown Prince won't be here. My day will be exceptionally dull."
Mary shifted her gaze away from the Crown Prince and stared blankly at the door, reminding herself to be patient. Some time passed, and as the sunlight broke, the Crown Prince yawned and woke up.
After stretching her body, Crown prince shook the golden bell on her right bedside table several times to the right and left. With the sound of the bell echoing in the room, Valnric entered as if he had spent the night outside the door.
He held a large bowl in one hand, white in color and adorned with gold leaf, and a towel in the other. After the Crown Prince washed his face and dried it, several servants entered the room, quickly placing the food on the table to the right and then left.
Mary hadn't seen what was on the menu; it was beyond her field of vision. After everyone, except Valnric, left the room, Valnric assisted the Crown Prince in changing. The Crown Prince had his meal and then left the room.
After he left, the brown-haired and green-eyed maid, whom Mary had seen on her first day in this world, entered the room. While clearing the table after the meal, she took a few bites of food and, after cleaning most of the table, came to the room to pick up the remaining scraps.
Her face was a bit flushed, and there were sweat droplets on her forehead. She looked somewhat sick, occasionally coughing. Mary saw this as an opportunity. Even if the maid ran away or reported her, the fact that she appeared sick would overshadow any accusations.
Moreover, since she had served the Crown Prince while he was sick and thus carried the risk of getting sick herself, this minor issue would be quickly dismissed. The brown-haired maid would be the one facing consequences. So, it was worth a try.
Mary wanted to speak, but no sound came out. She tried again, but it still didn't work. No matter how hard she tried, her voice wouldn't come out. Mary became frustrated with her useless body; she didn't want to miss this valuable opportunity.
Later, the maid approached the bed, pulled the blanket up to her nose, and took a deep breath. Soon after, realizing what she was doing, she scolded herself.
"What am I doing? What would I say if someone came into the room?" After straightening the crumpled blanket, as she attempted to tidy up the remaining dishes, she heard a voice in her mind, a whisper-like sound.
"Do you want him? If that's your wish, I can fulfill it."
The woman opened her eyes wide in shock. With an unpleasant expression on her face, she turned her head and looked where the voice seemed to come from, but there was nothing there. Later, she attributed hearing this voice to her illness and, with trembling legs, wanted to leave the room immediately.
Then, she heard the whisper-like but quite clear voice again.
"I saw what you did with the bedsheet he sleeps on."
"I didn't do such a thing!" The brown-haired woman shouted into the void, then covered her mouth. Realizing that no one came, she took a deep breath, relaxed, and wanted to leave the room. But once again, she heard a whisper in her ear.
"Don't you want to be with him?"
"How can I be with him while I'm a maid, and he..."
The brown-haired woman clenched her fist, coughed a few times, her face reddened even more. The whisper continued speaking.
"Why shouldn't you? What are you lacking compared to the others? Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror? Imagine, if you were with him, all the leftovers you eat right now would be presented to you to please you. Think about the race that nobles enter to win your satisfaction, from the precious jewelry they wear to all the luxury clothes—they would be laid out at your feet. Envision people who currently look down on you kneeling before you for your forgiveness!"
The brown-haired girl stood in place, contemplating the words of the whisper. Clenching her fist, she turned towards the emptiness and spoke.
"Don't promise me events from fairy tales; they have no reality! I don't even know what you are or how you could fulfill my wish. I can't even see you!"
The brown-haired woman was angered, and blue veins appeared on her face. She was quite upset with the person selling her fantasies; she thought the mysterious voice must be playing tricks on her.
"Do you wonder what I am?"
The woman's expression froze, and she replied, "Yes."
"I am the manifestation of your intention; I came to this world to fulfill your wish!"
The brown-haired woman's eyes widened in surprise. She started to think, but the whisper immediately interrupted her train of thought.
"So, I resemble those purposeful fairies, witches, and wizards you see in fairy tales! We are beings who descended to this world in the past, similar to individuals like me, to fulfill the wishes of those whose intentions have a powerful impact on the world. I am here to fulfill your wish."
The brown-haired woman later got irritated, as if hearing nonsense. In fact, her mind was saying that this made a lot of sense, and her heart was supporting it. Nevertheless, she shouldn't rely on such absurdities and jeopardize her somewhat peaceful life.
"Nonsense!"
The brown-haired woman turned her back and left the room, but she heard another voice.
"Don't forget, I'm here to help you achieve the greatest happiness in this world. If you change your mind, you can always find me. Also, imagine that the person whose bedspread you smelled is lying in the arms of the one you desire!"
A few weeks passed quietly again for Mary. The brown-haired servant hadn't exposed her, so Mary smiled.
"So, my proposal made sense to her too."
Today was Saturday again, and the Crown Prince had gone somewhere to handle paperwork. Mary had limited knowledge about this world, but the sources she could access were right in front of her eyes, yet she couldn't obtain them.
Mary heard a sound outside, and then the door opened. The brown-haired woman, with various red marks on her face, entered. After closing the door, she began to speak inside the room, even though no one was there. If someone saw this, they would find it quite unsettling.
"Is your promise to fulfill my wish still valid?"
