Attack From Shield: part 1(chapter 32)

prevously in chapter 31

"Wow, he's good," she admitted begrudgingly. Ward shot her a skeptical look, prompting her to add with a groan, "Obviously not as good as me." With a final, confident tap on the keyboard, she said, "There. Watch him panic."

"What's happening?" Jemma asked, her curiosity piqued.

"Yeah, English please," Fitz chimed in, looking at the screen over Skye's shoulder.

"I just attacked his server," Skye explained, her voice tinged with excitement. "He's defending very well," she acknowledged, leaning forward as her demeanor turned serious. "Too good."

Coulson and May exchanged a glance. "He's taking drugs," Coulson observed, noting the heightened capabilities.

"Fucking cheater," Skye cursed under her breath. "Fight me fair." She continued typing, her focus unyielding, until suddenly, she stopped.

"Wait, why did you stop?" May asked, her eyes narrowing in concern.

"Relax, trust me," Skye replied with a confident smile. "You said you wanted his location, right?"

Coulson nodded. "Well, I'm going to do you one better. I'll place him at a chosen location."

The team looked confused. "Look, he's a bad guy. And what's one thing that bad guys have in common?" she asked, looking around the room.

"Good sense of technological terms," Fitz guessed.

"Dangerous," Ward added.

"Good sense of fashion," May said, somewhat sarcastically.

"Large ego," Coulson concluded.

"Ego, yes," Skye affirmed, a triumphant smile on her face. "Now imagine if you were a bad guy," she turned towards Grant Ward, "and someone attacked your secret computer, and you found the hacker. What would you do?"

"Send my minions," Fitz suggested, though May quickly countered, "But Henry doesn't have minions."

"Exactly," Skye agreed. "So he will come himself. Good job, Skye," Coulson praised, a proud smile on his face.

"Hey, you did what you promised you would do," Skye responded, the satisfaction evident in her voice.

Coulson then grabbed his phone. "This is Agent Coulson, clearance level 8. I need a strike force," he said, his voice steady and commanding. The team was surprised. "I thought we were handling this mission?" Ward questioned, clearly taken aback. "This is not what we agreed on," May added, her tone firm. Coulson's expression softened as he addressed them. "It's not. But we just found out he has his hands on Extremis, and he's been actively harvesting Extremis blood. I can't risk you all," he said, exiting the room, leaving the team to process the gravity of the situation.

-scene change-

In the heart of a loosely populated district of London, there stood a decaying apartment complex. The building was a relic of a bygone era, its once-proud facade now marred by the ravages of time. Rusted pipes clung desperately to the sides, dripping with the city's dampness. The bricks were chipped and stained, a testament to years of neglect. The air was thick with the scent of mold and mildew, mingling with the faint aroma of street food from the distant market. A persistent drip from a leaky gutter created a rhythmic pattern, echoing in the silence of the night.

A figure clad in a normal clothes could be seen . "Damn fucker hacker, making me come all the way to London for no fucking reason," Henry muttered under his breath. His primary mission was revenge on the hacker who dared to breach his system. However, he also had a secondary objective: obtaining the rare Dragon Arum plant. The seller, based in London, had refused to ship it, forcing Henry to collect it in person, he of course got the plants, he knew where his priorities lied.

Henry approached the building, eyeing the decrepit structure with a mixture of disdain and curiosity. He uncorked a vial and drank the Stealth Elixir, feeling a wave of calm and lightness wash over him. His scent and body heat diminished, making him nearly undetectable. With a deep breath, he began his ascent into the building.

As Henry entered the lobby, the floorboards creaked ominously under his weight. The wallpaper peeled away in long, curling strips, revealing the bare plaster beneath. The air was musty, filled with the scent of decay. He moved silently, his eyes scanning every detail. A flickering light bulb cast erratic shadows on the walls, adding to the building's eerie ambiance.

Henry took the stairs, each step calculated to avoid the loudest creaks. The rusted railings wobbled dangerously under his touch. He paused on the second floor, noticing something odd about a door slightly ajar. The faint outline of a tripwire glinted in the dim light. He smirked, sidestepping it with ease.

Further up, the building's strangeness became more apparent. A door on the third floor had a new lock, out of place in the dilapidated surroundings. Henry's instincts screamed at him, "something is definitely wrong" but he sighted as he continued, this just further pissed him of, but he pressed on. He passed a window where the glass was surprisingly clean, providing a clear view of the street below—another subtle hint of the trap he was walking into.

Finally, he reached his desired location. The door looked no different from the others, but something felt off. "Let's see what you look like," Henry whispered, reaching for the handle. Before he could react, the door exploded outward, sending him crashing into the opposite wall. The blast rattled the entire floor, shaking dust and debris from the ceiling.

Dazed, Henry struggled to focus as footsteps echoed in the hallway. He felt hands grabbing him, lifting him up. Without hesitation, he bit down on the pill between his teeth which potion form was.
