Chapter 14: Concert Begins! (1)

"Hey, good luck young star!" SweetTooth said giving Ethan a thumbs up.

"Ethan do your best!" Noah shouted though worried now determined to support his musician.

The emcee got onto the stage and began shouting while announcing Ethan: "Now for the second performer! The only star, in not just less than a month made both his music Photograph and Happier into a pop sensation! The two record singles currently hold the second and first place in the NewBoard 2007! In just one week! Give it up for the rising icon! The star! Ethan Pattel!!."

The emcee sounding like an MMA announcer shouted aloud hyping the crowd.

"Go Ethan do your best-wait what did he say? First and second place?" Noah immediately turned on his phone and went to the NewBoard's to find Ethan's song currently holding the first and second place.

"What the..." Noah immediately called the others to inform them. 

On the other line, Rachel and the others were busily decorating the company. They were planning to throw a small party to congratulate Ethan for his first performance.

"Hello? Noah?" Ryan who was setting up the table said.

Everyone could hear Noah's loud voice, Peter checked his phone and his mouth turned agape. He showed the rankings to the others and their mouths were wide open as well.

[No. 1 Photograph. ]

[No. 2 Happier.]

Everyone was shocked seeing the ranking. Meanwhile, Ethan was currently trying to calm himself down. Ethan breathed in and out to calm himself. As the emcee announced his name. He immediately walked out of the backstage and into the stage holding his maple guitar.

What Ethan thought to be utter silence turned into thunderous cheers and applause.

Noah told Ethan to first perform the three new songs. Someone Like You, When We Were Young, Love in the Dark, and the last two songs would be Photograph and Happier.

Before performing, Ethan gave music sheets to the band.

"I heard that you're settled down...That you found a boy and you're married now.."

'Increase vocal's grade' Ethan thought.

"I heard that your dreams came true...Guess he gave you things, I didn't give to you.."

"Old friend, why are you so shy? Ain't like you to hold back or hide from the light..."

"I hate to turn up out of the blue, uninvited, But I couldn't stay away, I couldn't fight it, I had hoped you'd see my face And that you'd be reminded that for me, it isn't over.."

"Never mind, I'll find someone like you I wish nothing but the best for you, too.."

"This is awesome.." One of Ethan's fans cried out.

"Wow, babe why are you crying?" Her boyfriend was shocked seeing his girlfriend crying.

"It's nothing.." The girl said as she rested her head on her boyfriend's shoulder.

"Don't forget me, I beg I remember you said: Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead, Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead..."

"Never mind, I'll find someone like you I wish nothing but the best for you, too.."

"Don't forget me, I begged I remember you said Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead"

"Nothing compares, no worries or cares Regrets and mistakes, they're memories made...Who would have known how bittersweet this would taste?"

Ethan gave it all, his sheer emotion reached through the crowd. Though they didn't know the lyrics, some of the crowd began singing alongside Ethan.

"Never mind, I'll find someone like you I wish nothing but the best for you.."

"Don't forget me, I beg I remember you said Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead"

"Heok..." A sophomore began crying in tears.

"Dude the heck?" His friends jolted in surprise, their friend who is 6'4 with a huge build began breaking down in front of them.

"I miss her..." Their friend cried out.

"Dude..stop crying.." They were men! The only thing they knew was to drink and have fun, the only way they could try to comfort someone was through drinks!

"Here chug this.." One of the friends opened a can of Mingles, and inside was a beer.

"Chug!" One of the friends encouraged. Their friend who was drinking kept crying and singing along.

"Never mind, I'll find someone like you I wish nothing but the best for you, too.."

"Don't forget me, I begged I remember you said Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead, Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead..."

Sweat covered Ethan's forehead, and the once trembling hands due to worry trembled in excitement. The crowd with their thunderous voice and applause shrouded Ethan.

"Um...What's Up NYU!" Ethan shouted aloud and the crowd once again shouted in response.

"Kyaaaaa! I love you, Ethan!" One of the fans shouted. Leaving Ethan embarrassed.

"The heck gurl?" Hannah said.

"Sorry.." Alexa covered her mouth.

At first when her friend told her that the concert featured SweetTooth she was reluctant to go. But when she heard that Ethan would perform she immediately got ready.

The amount of emotion that Ethan put on the song was enough for her to cry. 

"For my next song, I'm going to perform another song I have made, titled Love in the Dark," Ethan said on the mic and the audience applauded and cheered.

Ethan gestured at the band to start playing, The band nodded their head and started playing the rhythm. 

Ethan held the mic, he once again breathed in and out and started singing.
