Chapter 1

--- 799 M30, Terra ---

The sky was painted in red and purple as the clouds rolled through the air. Multi-colored lightning struck down all over, killing dozens.

Small creatures were descending down on the city from above, picking up citizens and dropping them from high up or tearing them apart.

The Emperor looked at the demons terrorizing his citizens and frowned. He turned around to see the 20 small pods before him, each with a single child inside except for one that had a set of twins.

All of the children looked different, except for the twins, with none looking like they were born from the same parents. But each was indeed a son of the Emperor and a brother.

Most of the children looked on with the innocence and confusion that babies would but two looked back at the Emperor with intelligence unique for their age in their eyes.

One of those two had red skin and crimson hair. The other was a child with light-brown skin and curly brown hair.

These two had inherited their father's most powerful ability, his Psyker abilities. Thanks to that, they also had increased mental capabilities and could process everything that was going on around them.

"My sons. You two shall be the only ones to remember me. Please tell your brothers that you are all destined for greatness. Let them know that I have not abandoned them and that I shall come for you all when the time comes. Until then, I ask that you watch over them."

Neither of the pair could speak yet but they would always remember his words and their destinies.

"Your Majesty," a warrior wearing golden armor, similar to the set that the great Emperor had worn. "It is time to send them send off. If we wait any longer, they may get involved in the battle."

"Thank you, Valdor. Send them off," the Emperor commanded while looking at the skies above him. Golden energy surrounded the man while his gaze hardened, ready to ensure his children's escape.

Valdor walked over to a control console and began to press various buttons on it. The room of the room opened, allowing the children to see the crimson clouds above them.

The Emperor heard the roof open and knew it was time to do his part.

The man unleashed the golden energy from his body in a might beam that pierced through the clouds above him and the children, creating an opening for them to pass through. Countless stars could be seen in the beautiful night sky.

When the clouds were cleared, Valdor immediately pressed a button that launched the children into the sky.

The small rockets shot through the air and were supposed to reach one of the ships out in space that would retrieve them and take them far way.

But the gods had other plans.

Out of nowhere, a giant purple portal with untold horrors appeared in the clearing that the Emperor had created. And each of the children were heading straight for that portal.

"No!" The Emperor shouted in rage, unleashing another might blast of golden energy, even stronger than the first.

But before the golden beam could hit the portal to try and destroy it, 4 more beams struck down from above. One red, one blue, one green, and one pink.

The 4 beams met the golden one and stopping clashed with it evenly, preventing the Emperor from saving his sons. He was forced to watch as his sons entered the portal, and sent to who knew where and when.

"Damn you, you 4 bastards! We had a deal!"

"Indeed, we did," said a sickening voice that came from everywhere and nowhere. Any citizen who heard it was instantly driven insane or died.

"You were to give us 300 worlds in exchange for the power of the Warp but you have gone back on your word. But do not worry. Your sons shall live. And you shall meet them all once more. But you will no longer be able to shape them as you wish. That and the current invasion of Terra is the price you shall for breaking your word, human."

The Emperor felt regret for one of the few times in his life. He was hoping that the price he would have had to pay would come many years later, not so soon.

The Emperor tried to empower his blast more but it was not enough. As he tried to blast through the ruinous powers, he was forced to watch his sons enter the warp portal before it closed. The clouds that were parted had soon reformed, blocking out the night sky once more.

The Emperor looked on in disbelief as all of his sons as disappeared before his eyes. The man above men let out a might roar filled with pain, frustration, and rage before unleashing his full psychic might on the demons with his golden warriors and the warriors he had prepared for his sons to lead around him.

—— 800.5 M30, Feluc ——

A small portal opened above the planet in the middle of the night sky. The beautiful portal caught the attention of several individuals and they all saw the shooting star that fell out of it.

The shooting star crashed into a mountain near a small town.

Several knights under the Bradley Household were dispatched in order to investigate the crash site using the trail it left as a signal.

Meanwhile at the crash site, there was a hectic scene. The pod that one of the Emperor's Children was inside of had crashed into the middle of a bloody battle.

Several men wearing grey and golden armor were fighting off a group of bandits next to a carriage. Inside of the carriage was a woman and teen boy, each wearing fine clothes made of the highest quality but both looked terrified as they saw the brutality outside of the window.

Their 5, originally 10, knights were fighting off a group of 30 men wearing mismatched clothes in terms of quality but all carried a weapon and were proficient in them.

Just as another knight fell, the pod had landed atop of one individual while the blast of the crash caused several men to be knocked away.

Everyone paused, fearing that an Imperial Knight had arrived to save the nobles. But when the smoke cleared, they saw nothing kore than a small, naked child who was staring at them.

The child looked at everyone, taking notes of what each was wearing.

He saw that the knights appeared similar to the Custodes while the woman in the carriage wore a crown similar to his father.

From those signs alone, he decided who was enemy and who was an ally.

The boy reached down and picked up the dagger of the man that his pod had killed before rushing at the closest bandit.

The bandit was not prepared for the child rushing at him or for his unusual speed.

When he neared the bandit, the boy jumped in the air and slashed the dagger at the man's throat.

Although he knew little, killing was second nature as that was one of the three things he was born to do.

The boy and body of the bandit with his throat slit landed at the same time. But while one stayed there clenching their throat, the boy began to rush toward the other bandits.

He battled them all by himself while they screamed at him. First in disbelief and arrogance, then with rage, and finally, with only fear and despair left in their throats.

He systematically killed each of them while the knights and noblewoman looked on in astonishment. They had never seen a child so martially gifted.

Once they were all dead the boy turned to the carriage, scaring all the knights into aiming their blades at him. But he was not looking at them.

His pulled eyes had fallen on the woman in the carriage.

The woman looked him in the eye as she slowly opened the door to the carriage.

"Your Majesty!" One of the Knights called out but she held her hand up to stop him

The queen stepped out of the carriage and began to slowly walk over to the boy. Even though he was covered in blood, she did not seem afraid.

She placed her hand on his head and wiped the guts out of it, getting her hand bloody in the process.

She stood back and examined her work before nodding.

"Hmm. Much better without the gore in your hair. I'm sure it looks even better when it is washed," she said to herself

The boy tilted his head in confusion, not sure what she was saying. He could hear her but he had yet to learn words and their meaning.

"Child. You have saved me and my son. Do you want to come with me?"

The child titled his head to the other side, not sure of her words.

The queen began to laugh, her voice sounding like bells in his ears. Unlike how tense he felt when be was sent from Terra or as he traveled through the Warp or even during the fight. He felt his body relax.

"My apologies. It seems you don't speak. Come with me. I'll give you a name and home," she said while she extended her hand

The child looked between her hand and her face a few times before he extended his hand and placed it in her palm.

The woman nodded before pulling the child along and into the carriage, not worried about the blood on his body staining the seats.

Her son who was sitting there backed away, not wanting the boy to get too close.

The knights looked at each other and shook their heads. This was how their queen usually acted.

One of the Knights stayed behind while the other two stood on the the back. They would send reinforcements for the remaining knight to ensure the bodies would be picked up.

Luckily for him, the knights of the Bradley Household were on their way and would soon arrive.

The queen looked at the child who looked around the carriage in confusion and she smiled at the boy.

'He looks so cute when he's confused.'

"You remind me of my grand uncle. How does the name Baldur sound?"

The boy wasn't sure what she was saying so he just stared out the window, enjoying to view that the well lit night provided.

The woman smiled to herself, deciding that Baldur would be the child's name from that day on.
