Wednesday's Kiss

Before Allen found out that Loki was causing trouble, there was another situation in the virtual world.

Ten minutes had passed since Fortnite started, and people were already getting the hang of this strange competition. If you were good at the current game, you could be a hunter and kill defenseless players. If you lacked skills in the current game, you could only hide and flee.

Many spectators wondered, "What's the need to hunt other players?"

The answer is quite simple. First and foremost, it's to reduce the number of enemies. Secondly, imagine being a Fortnite pro player; this is your playground, and you can take advantage of your skill.

Here, Fortnite experts must leverage their advantage. They know they might get lucky and eliminate a top Mario Kart world player or a professional League of Legends gamer who will soon have them praying to God in the next world.

Allen and Rebecca were inside a bush, stalking a group of players who walked as if nothing in the world were happening. It was obvious what was going on; they were complete beginners.

===

– Camper!

– Fuc*ing camper...

– Allen's a camper!

"Shut up! I'm still showing you to the other players, and you treat me like this?!" Allen shouted at such an insult to his person. He wasn't being a camper, a derogatory term for players who hide in corners, houses, bushes, etc., waiting to surprise attack someone passing by.

– Camp... I mean, Allen, why don't you let others broadcast this tournament?

Currently, people can only watch through Allen's live stream, although there were professional players, streamers, and YouTubers who accepted the virtual invitation.

Allen took a calming breath and looked at his spectators. "The answer is simple. They can't do it like me. Currently, they aren't even physically at their homes; they're inside the virtual world using an avatar, and I can Livestream because it's part of my abilities."

– Ohh, I see, I thought you was just a B... (banned for ten hours)

===

Allen smirked coldly at the comments. However, they were somewhat right; it wasn't honorable to stay in a bush the entire match. Allen decided to step out, but the conversation of the player group caught his attention.

"Why would you use the hammer?" asked a player wearing an outfit resembling an alien with a large green head.

"The hammer is used to get wood... I think?" a confused guy resembling Peter Griffin responded.

A girl in a wrestler's suit grabbed the hammer and struck a tree. "Using a hammer to get wood? What sense does that make?"

"Look, sis, I have no idea; I'm a Minecraft player," Peter Griffin shrugged.

"I don't know how to play Fortnite; I just play Mario Kart occasionally..." the girl commented with a sigh.

"I... play some Japanese games..." the alien awkwardly coughed.

===

– I bet the alien plays *H* games, LMAO.

– It's so unfair that players don't even know the rules while other teams will take advantage of that. :(

Rick – It's natural selection *Burp* the weak fall to satisfy the mating instincts of the strong.

Ruby – What the heck are you saying, Rick?!

Rick – I'm sorry, I'm intoxicated, don't mind me.

===

"How pitiful..."

Allen looked at the group of total beginners and lost the desire to attack them; they were just too pitiful. He had barely played Fortnite but knew the basics.

"Hey, aren't we going to attack them?!" Rebecca immediately pouted, burying her head under Allen's collar.

"Calm down, Rebecca." Allen stroked the girl's head to reassure her. "I didn't say we wouldn't attack them... I just said I feel sorry for them."

"Wtf!..." Rebecca pulled away, not knowing what expression to make after feeling such affection. "What the heck did you just do?!"

"I... I patted your head?" Allen responded, looking at her strangely.

"Yeah... you did..." Rebecca murmured, lowering her voice.

She wasn't used to this kind of cheesy affection, and if it were someone else, it might have disgusted her. Rebecca had questioned more than once in this short period of being a sex doll had influenced her thoughts. Unfortunately for her, that wasn't the case; there was absolutely no external influence on her relationship with Allen.

Rebecca hesitated for a moment before looking at Allen. "Hey..."

"What's up?" Allen remained attentive to Rebecca's odd behavior, keeping an eye on the group of players.

The girl tilted her head towards Allen without saying anything. Allen tried to glance at Rebecca's face for a moment but failed. After a kind smile, Allen stroked her even more.

"You know... this is gross and strangely comforting," murmured Rebecca.

Allen doesn't know why these strange dolls came into his life, but he understands it has nothing to do with the system. There are too many unknowns, but according to Wednesday's story and now Rebecca's, they died in their original worlds. Of course, Wednesday's death was unexpected; maybe she comes from an alternate reality.

Wednesday was atop a tower aiming a sniper rifle at the group Allen was observing. She showed no mercy, unlike Allen, even if her opponents were newcomers in this world.

Wednesday aimed and fired three times in rapid succession; two of the three bullets hit the guy with the Peter Griffin skin. His shield shattered, and he panicked; Wednesday Addams was about to kill him when a wall rose in front of Peter.

The one responsible for this was the silent member of the group of newcomers, a guy with a golden ninja skin emitting rays as he walked.

Allen stopped caressing Rebecca and watched what was happening, grabbing his gun and preparing to attack. But at that moment, an intense bloodlust emerged from his side. Allen looked at Rebecca, who seemed to be engulfed in fire.

"You ******* How dare they interrupt at the best part!!! I'll send them to ********"

Rebecca shot out like a rocket, firing with her dual pistols and hurling a huge amount of insults at the players who didn't know what to do.

Peter Griffin was hit by Rebecca's shots and tried to retaliate, but his aim was lamentable even when Rebecca was heading straight towards him. Peter couldn't land a single shot.

Peter died, turning into holographic light. Luckily, Fortnite's world isn't as graphic as the previous one.

The fighter used her hammer and struck the ground to soar away. It's a shame she didn't know that Ghost had her marked from the start.

Upon landing, the fighter watched the fight from afar but immediately received several shotgun shots from nowhere.

"How?!" There was no place to hide where she fell, so she couldn't understand how someone approached so closely and rapidly.

"..." Ghost watched as the last player, the ninja, began building a tower.

Fortnite is more colorful and vibrant than Warzone, but it's still a game of shooting your rivals, which is why the skills of the player with Ghost didn't diminish. However, there was something that Ghost, Rebecca, and Wednesday couldn't do.

And that was something that separated the good Fortnite players from the rest.

...

Allen watched expressionlessly as a skyscraper rose in seconds before them.

Rebecca stood beside Allen, mouth agape. Wednesday closed her eyes and abandoned her position, unconcerned about the last player.

Allen remained standing without saying anything, tossed his gun to the ground, and turned away; Rebecca did the same and followed him.

"I'm not even going to try it."

===

– Hahaha, how long do you think it'll take for the guy to realize that no one's chasing him?!

– Does he want to reach the moon?! That thing is bigger than the Tokyo Tower! O_o

– The most ridiculous thing... is that he hasn't shot at Allen's team even once...

– Hey, I'll stand up for Fortnite players. Yes, building is a hassle, and it's a pain that you have to study architecture to play well, but there's one thing no game can compare to Fortnite.

– I'm listening...

– That there are more than 1,400 skins! Take that, Minecraft! HAHAHAHAHA

Many spectators paying attention fell silent. Understanding a Fortnite player was simply difficult.

===

Allen sat down to have a picnic while the cameras showed the top players; it was incredible to watch them play.

A global top player named Queasy had eliminated three teams alone, all in the same spot, which was some sort of spaceship. Setty, another global top player, obliterated nearly fifty players' lives in one part of the map, all by himself.

(A/N: These are real top players.)

Lastly, the player named Kami did something that left everyone speechless. He was the best Fortnite player in the world at the moment, but unlike others, Kami hunted expert players with game knowledge. This was ten times harder than hunting newcomers, yet all the players were vanquished when near Kami.

On the other hand, Kami felt better than ever; he'd played Fortnite for so long that it was part of his life, but he never imagined being inside this game. It was one of those beautiful things you don't know you need to experience until you do.

...

Allen sat watching this while Rebecca used her leg as a pillow, and Wednesday sat quietly on the other side.

===

– Hey? Aren't you a bit too comfortable there, Allen?

– Why do I feel like I've been called single in sixty different languages?

– As expected from the handsome guy, even waifus adore him.

===

At some point, the viewers' attention shifted from the game to Allen due to his intimate acts with Rebecca and his proximity to Wednesday.

Not only that, the girl in Ghost's attire didn't move far from him either. And considering the high number of single people watching the live stream, jealousy was inevitable.

Allen would have retorted at another time, but being unable to fight against Fortnite experts bored him, so he decided to tease his viewers. Allen grabbed Wednesday's arm and pulled her closer, then put his arm around her shoulder.

===

– Ah?!

– You bastard!!!

– +(#_&$

===

Wednesday looked at Allen expressionless while allowing him to do this. Allen suspected she wouldn't refuse, and luckily, he was right.

Allen silently looked at the girl, intending to help with her prank, but he was surprised by Wednesday's fixed gaze. It was a look different from her usual dark hostility and indifference; she seemed to want to be close to Allen.

Allen got lost in Wednesday's jet-black eyes, and she did the same in Allen's silver-gray eyes.

Both created a beautiful black-and-white image that seemed to come from a piece of art. But all that was irrelevant to Allen, who solely concentrated on her, disregarding everything else.

Gradually, the distance between them shortened, and the viewers held their breath. Allen had completely forgotten about his surroundings, and Wednesday never cared from the beginning.

'Since I met you, you've been a mystery to me; you're like a book too advanced for my mind,' Allen touched the girl's cheek.

'Since I met you, you've been a headache; it's always so unpleasant and proportionally uncomfortable being around you...' Wednesday placed her hand on Allen's.

'I never know if I should come closer or move away...' Allen pushed aside Wednesday's hair.

'I can't understand that strange feeling inside me...' a slight, almost nonexistent blush appeared on the girl's white,

 pale skin.

Both closed their eyes as their lips met amid a gentle breeze. It was a simple kiss, without adornments or too much exaggeration. There was no passion; it was more like the answer to a question. A question that neither could answer with words.
