Chapter 288: Just Coworkers

"No. I would never," Matthew replied. He did not even want to imagine how much injury Loreen would get if he did hit her as their accusatory gaze were implying.

He glanced at Loreen when he saw the side of her head with a bump.

It must have been when her head hit the guard's chest. He had something in his pocket which must have caused the bump on her head.

He could understand why they were suspicious of him.

"Are you sure about that?" the doctor inquired.

"Yes, I swear. She's a precious employee of mine. She must have gotten that bump when the guard caught her. He had something in his chest and it so happened that her head hit there."

Matthew explained how he just dropped her off at her place when she suddenly stopped walking and he and the guard noticed she was acting weird and the guard saw first that she lost consciousness and ran to her.

"Then may we contact that guard? Do you have his phone number?" the doctor inquired.
