Selena’s POV

"If you'll excuse me, I have work to do."

With my back to Danyll, I decided to take matters into my own hands. He didn't answer me. I held my breath and waited silently for a few seconds, as if a century had passed. I feel drenched in the back.

Finally, Danyll was kind enough to let the poor servant girl in front of him go. "Okay, go ahead."

I hurried out of the corridor and down the stairs.

Just as I was going downstairs, I passed my father's study. I thought this place would be guarded, but it's not. There should be no one inside, I guess.

A strong curiosity made me stop even though I knew I was in danger. I looked back at Danyll. There was a corner from my room to the study, and this was his blind spot, which meant he could hardly see me even when I was in the study.

I opened the door of the study.
