30 Returning to Covert Garden

In the following week, I worked remotely, making modifications to the interview draft while spending quality time with Daisy. It was an enjoyable week.

Soon, Amber's wedding day arrived.

In the morning, I dressed Daisy beautifully and got into the car prepared for me by Amber.

Accompanied by Daisy's cheerful singing, the car smoothly made its way and arrived in front of a mansion located in the affluent district of Gorden City.

"Mom, look!" Daisy, who was in her reading phase, pointed to a row of brass-carved floral letters on the wall to the left of the garden gate and excitedly shouted.

"Covent..."

"It's Covert Private Garden, sweetheart." I unconsciously read the words on the wall, "Established in 1895, belonging to..."

In an instant, memories surged in my mind like a tsunami. The humiliation I had endured at the Kelowna banquet was vividly remembered.
