Ruith's body was a furnace, his skin so hot that the warmth of the water penetrating my clothes felt cold compared to him. I should have at least taken my shirt off before climbing in here. There weren't any dryers at this motel, so I would have to hang these clothes immediately after the shower. I'd been too worried about Ruith for rationality.

 

He was slow with washing himself. No, not slow, but lacking the energy to move at a moderate pace. My restless hands met reprieve when he asked me to wash his back because he was too exhausted to reach. Afterward, I shut off the water, and Ruith climbed out to dry himself and put on a pair of my clothes. His shoulders were broad, his body lean with subtle muscle. He wasn't but a few inches shorter than me, but because of my military build, my clothes were loose on him. My pants especially since he didn't have the muscle in his thighs to fill them out.
