Hidden Ability Detected

"Aren't you going to see your parents" max asked, seating back on his bed to get their reasons.

Caleb and James already talked about it on their outing yesterday. They both looked at each other, waiting for who will give Max his reason first.

"HELLO!" Max urged.

James exhaled before breaking the silence. "Remember I told you that my parents were against me coming here?"

"Yeah I remember."

"So, I don't want to see them because they might try to talk me out of here, and according to the school anyone can leave now, so they might try to make that happen." James explained.

James reason was considerable but Max still had something to say about it. "I believe if you tell them about the system book, that might make them think otherwise."

James gave Caleb a look before continuing "Well, that's another problem. See, the thing is that I already have one, so I can't convince them with that." Said James.

"Huh! You already had a System Book before now?" Max asked in surprise and shock. If this is true, then Max believes that James' family must be extremely rich.

Max still had few comments on that, but he decided to switch over to Caleb as time wasn't on his side.

"And what about you? What's your excuse?" Max asked.

"My reason isn't an excuse if there's no parents to visit."

Caleb's words were confusing to Max. He couldn't make sense out of anything Caleb was trying to say, so he decided to ask. "What are you trying to say exactly?"

"He's an orphan." James said.

"Huh! Oh.... I'm so sorry." Said Max, but Caleb replied it was nothing.

Just as they were to continue their chat, an announcement echoed from the speakers in the room.

[All students should make it the visiting hall]

Unlike James and Caleb, Max really wanted to see his parents so he left in a hurry. Opening the door, Max noticed that most of the students were already gone and Finn was no where to be found.

Finn was also an orphan, but he have his grandma and grandpa to visit. Ever since the death of his parents, they've been the ones taking care of him till date.

Max also followed the students and together, they all arrived at the visiting room. Few familiar faces were there. Sergeant Creed was in charge to make sure that every student sees his parents or guardians for about thirty minutes.

The visiting hall has several small glass spaces where each student can meet with their parent. Once you're paired with your parent, Sergeant Creed takes you both into one of the small glass rooms to talk.

Max noticed students and parents in the glass rooms laughing, shouting, crying, arguing, and hugging, but to his surprise, not a single word from them could be heard outside. This explains that the tiny glass rooms were all soundproofs.

"Hey Max!" Said a familiar voice and when Max turned around, it was Finley Scott.

"Hey!" Max greeted back.

Finley Scott just arrived at the visiting hall, but soon his name was mentioned that his parents were ready to see him.

With a smile, Finley Scott said, "See you around, buddy," and then he left.

For more than ten minutes, Max had been standing and waiting for his name to be called, but there was nothing, and Finley Scott who had just arrived was already seeing his parents? Max wondered.

After waiting for several more minutes, close to an hour pass, Max approached sergeant Creed to discuss why his name haven't been called.

"Hey boy! How're you doing?" Sergeant Creed said to Max with a bright smile.

"Good. But sir, my name haven't been mentioned."

"You've to be patient, It will get to your turn. But let me make an exception for you. Tell me your last name and I will look into it."

"Hernandez." Said Max with the high hope of seeing his mother any moment from now.

Sergeant Creed scanned through the digital notepad on his hand and after few seconds he turned to Max. "I'm sorry boy, it seemed like your parents aren't present."

"They should be present, at least my mum should be present. Pls just check again." Max mumbled.

"Boy, we sent message to every parents and guardians, but few didn't make it here so I'm guessing yours are among the few.

Max was so confused, he didn't want to believe the fact that his mother didn't come to see him. However, Max didn't leave the visiting room because a thought was playing around his head that maybe his mum is just running late. But six hours later, visiting time was over and all the students had left the visiting hall. The only people that were remaining were few soldiers and sergeant Creed.

"Hey boy! I'm sorry your parents didn't make it. I'm sure they will next time." Sergeant Creed said to Max as he noticed Max's sad mode.

Just as Max was to leave, he noticed a lady arguing with one of the soldiers. She wasn't wearing a suit, so she must be a parent to one of the students, and also, since she was arguing it means that she didn't get to see her child.

"Didn't she get to see her son?" Max asked Sergeant Creed.

Sergeant Creed turned to Max and asked how he knew that the lady was here to see her son, it could be that she came for her daughter.

Max suspected that the lady might be James' mum and he was correct. He replied sergeant Creed that since male students were more in the school, he just guess that she was here for her son.

Max was embarrassed to face James and Caleb as he doesn't have anything to tell them. He decided to visit the library once again since it was the only place that he founds solace in the school.

Just when Max arrived there, he bumped into Jacob who was coming out. Immediately their eyes met with each other, there was an electric shock in the air.

"Ohh... Look who we have here." Said Jacob with a straight face.

Max also gazed with a straight face. At this moment, he doesn't mind getting into a fight with Jacob once again.

On a normal day, Max would have been scared to his bones, but not anymore. If Max should get into a fight with Jacob, he will be rewarded 50 Exp and also, he can now inspect Jacob to know what ability user he was.

Thinking of inspecting, informations about Jacob popped up on Max's face.

< Name: Jacob Andor >

< AR: D1 >

< Ability: Pusher > [ No upgrade on Air Ability ]

< Age: 19 >

After the inspection, Max's confidence grew bigger. He was expecting Jacob to be a high ranked ability user, but he was just an ordinary D1 user. It all made sense to Max how Jacob was able to catapult him backwards each time they fought. So Jacob was a pusher. Max and many other students had thought that Jacob was a telekinesis user.

Pushers can push things by applying wind, but they can't control the wind as they wish. They can only move objects backwards.

Soon, Bella interrupted them after seeing them through the transparent glass walls in the library.

"Hey guys! What's up Max. I didn't know you will be coming today." Bella changed the atmosphere and walked away with Max. She knew that if she doesn't do anything, a fight might escalate between them.

Max still had enough experience points to carry out an inspection on Bella. He had always been curious about what ability user she was and her rank as well.

Max gazed at Bella and soon, his inspection ability activated.

< Name: Bella Logan >

< AR: C1 >

< Ability: Wind > [First upgrade on Air Ability]

< Age: 17 >

Alert!!! Hidden Ability Detected

Indeed Bella and Jacob happen to have similar ability like she claimed yesterday. But what Max didn't understood was the hidden ability that was detected.

Max and Bella went in different directions in search of the books they were interested on. Lucky for Max, he still had few Exps on him.

Minutes later, Bella arrived on a table with 8 different books. She was surprised to see that Max only brought one book with him.

"What's your deal with books about demons?" Bella asked after noticing that the book Max brought with him talks about demons, just like the ones he read yesterday.

"And what's your deal about fairies?" Max questioned after seeing few fairy books that Bella brought with her.

"I just love fairy tails, and it's not like I'm obsessed with it." Bella replied Max.

"And who said I'm obsessed with demon tails? Never mind." Max said and began his reading.

While Max was with Bella reading and discussing, James and Caleb walked inside. Immediately he sighted them, he hid himself so they won't spot him. He was still embarrassed that he didn't get to meet his mum after how he made today a big day.
