The Search Continues [Part-2]

Stefan continued asking more about the herb. But it seems that William also has limited information.

While Stefan was pondering, he suddenly wondered if he should get help from them to kill the demon. He had no idea if the tree demon would follow his traces. Just in case, it was better to be careful.

After hesitating several times, he still decided to try it out. If they rejected it, then he would simply act like it was not him who asked it.

But before he could ask, Ethan mentioned the demon, ''What do you think is wrong with the tree demon?''

William did not reply for a long time, but just as both of them thought he was not going to speak, he said, ''It must have eaten a powerful ingredient or a herb which helped it to evolve.''

Ethan agreed with William. Stefan was not sure if they were talking about the same tree demon.

He decided to ask about the tree demon and Ethan described it vividly, ''It has long thin branches. It uses the branches to beat its victims and suck their blood dry. It is about eight meters tall. Just like the blood it absorbs, its color is red''.

''When you go to kill it, can I accompany you guys? I want to learn something for my protection'', Stefan requested.

''Sure you can, but please be careful while we are dealing with the tree demon. So, you are not injured at all. Otherwise, it will try to target you'', William said.

Although every time William speaks so much, Ethan is surprised, but now he has almost become immune to it.

Ethan rolled his eyes and decided to target Aouli. While Stefan and William were busy talking, he moved his evil claws towards Li's puffy cheeks.

As he wished, he touched Aouli's cheeks, but before he could enjoy the soft sensation, Li cried out in frustration.

Stefan's attention was immediately attracted, and he was surprised to find that while he was not paying attention to Li, he has already started devouring the snacks present on the table.

''I am sorry, he did not eat much for breakfast, just consider it as my treat for missing yesterday's appointment'', Stefan apologized.

Stefan thought, 'It was my mistake for forgetting that Li did not eat much for today's breakfast'.

''By the way, is this your younger brother?'', Ethan asked curiously.

Not knowing both of them for more than three days, Stefan was very cautious when it came to Aouli's matters. He decided to hide Li's identity for now. 'When I know them in deep, I will tell them the truth.' He thought with some guilt.

After all, they have saved him, but he is hiding information from them.

Heli interjected in a timely manner, 'Host, you are doing right by hiding Aouli's identity. You don't know much about them for now, it would be bad if Li's enemies hear it.'

....

Stefan walked towards the kitchen and started cooking lunch. Just in case, he deliberately made an extra potion. He did not know Esha's appetite as of now.

While cooking, Heli gave a slight warning, 'Host, there is only one day left for completing Task-1'.

Stefan almost burned himself while scooping the soup. He nearly forgot about the task. Now, he started worrying about the materials. Earlier he decided to make something from modern crafts, but, he is just a new person in this town, and he dare not act out of ordinary.

Stefan knows that sometimes excessive exposure, is prone to danger. Furthermore, now he is not alone, he has a younger brother now. He has to take every step with caution. He dare not risk Li's life. After all, it is not confirmed if Li's parents were being hunted.

'What if they find out the similarities between his parents and him?', Stefan shuddered at the thought of being exposed and silenced.

Just at this moment, Heli's warning came, 'Host! Host!'.

'What happened Heli??!', Stefan also panicked after hearing the urgency in Heli's words.

Stefan heard footsteps and looked over to see that it was Esha, who entered the kitchen.

Esha was surprised to find the unique lighting and utensils, but she did not bother to express her curiosity. She walked close to Stefan and said with a grave expression, ''I sense a lot of murderous auras.''

She did not want to risk her savior's life. Furthermore, she doubted if these people had something to do with the person behind her assassination. Although she didn't know the outside situation clearly, she was sure of one thing, that was, the visitor has no good intentions.

As Esha was an Elf Princess it was in her blood, on how to judge whether someone has bad intentions especially malicious aura. That is the reason, she was able to identify these auras even from a distance.

Stefan's expression changed from panic to understanding. He guessed that it was related to the herb he was carrying with him.

'By the way, I almost forgot, that Esha also needs this herb', he patted his forehead lightly, forgetting the main purpose for this herb.

Stefan believed that the herb has already chosen Esha, otherwise, it wouldn't have been so easy to get this herb.

The next moment there were two herbs in his hand and he extended it towards Esha.

''You! How?'', Esha was greatly shocked to see the herb in front of her. She could not believe that, just as she had lost all the hope for the herb, here it was, in front of her, appearing as her only hope at this moment.

''Take it'', Stefan shoved the herbs directly in Esha's hands and patted her head.

Esha was standing in a daze, touching her head. She did not understand how Stefan knew that she needed this herb the most at this moment.

She looked at Stefan both with surprise and suspicion. Now she can't afford to believe that there is any free lunch in this world.
