Carrigan
After a shift at the bar, I returned home to get ready for another date with Royce. It was Thursday afternoon, and he’d been discussing having a fun-filled Memorial Day weekend. He’d made sure I was available to have this date and even told Kaitlyn not to schedule me for the next few days after. I didn’t tell anyone about our relationship status, but Kaitlyn always knew something was up. She tried to pry it out of me, but our busy bar kept me from having to answer.
I liked Royce; that wasn’t the problem. The problem was trying not to feel like a giddy teenager and also worrying about how exactly to be a girlfriend.
I didn’t know what Royce had planned for that weekend, but I still wanted to look nice. I came home and immediately showered, imagining being open and honest with Royce.
