Chapter 39: North Kora part 1
Kai scans the map of Kora with keen interest, tracing his finger over the different regions and landmarks. His eyes light up when he sees the north Kora, a vast green area dotted with sparkling blue lakes.
He has always wanted to visit this part of the world, where ancient libraries and temples are hidden among the trees, and where fierce beasts roam the wilds. He thinks that this would be the perfect place to expand his knowledge and skills, as well as to earn some rewards by completing some combat hunter missions.
Kai dials Rumy's number on his phone, hoping that he is not too busy. He likes Rumy, a friendly and knowledgeable tour guide who showed him around West Kora, the desert region of the world. He wonders if Rumy knows north Kora as well, the forest region of the world, and if he would be willing to accompany him there.
He hears Rumy's cheerful voice on the other end, greeting him warmly. "Hey, Kai! How are you? It's good to hear from you again. What's up?"
Kai asks him about his plans, and Rumy says that he is free for the next few days. "I just finished a tour with some clients from South Kora, the mountain region of the world. They were very nice and generous. I have no bookings for the next few days, so I'm just relaxing at home. Why do you ask?"
Kai tells him about his interest in north Kora, and Rumy says that he does know the area quite well. "Oh, you want to go to north Kora? That's a great choice. It's one of my favorite places in the world. It's so beautiful and peaceful there. You'll love it. I do know the area quite well. I used to live there when I was a kid, before I moved to West Kora. I still have some friends and relatives there, who can help us out."
He says that he has some friends and relatives in north Kora, and that he can arrange some transportation and accommodation for him. "Don't worry about anything, Kai. I can arrange everything for you. I have a friend who owns a car rental company, who can give us a good deal on a SUV. I also have a cousin who works at a hotel in Nara, the capital city of north Kora, who can get us a discount on a room. We can stay there for a night, and then travel around north Kora for the next few days. How does that sound?"
Kai thanks him profusely, and says that he will see him soon. He is excited to have Rumy as his guide again, and to explore the wonders of north Kora with him. "That sounds amazing, Rumy. Thank you so much for your help and kindness. You're the best tour guide ever. When can we meet?"
Kai expresses his gratitude to Rumy, and tells him that he will meet him at the border checkpoint between east and north Kora. "You're very welcome, Kai. It's my pleasure to help you out. You're one of my favorite clients ever. We can meet tomorrow morning at the border checkpoint between east and north Kora. It's about an hour drive from here. Is that okay with you?"
Kai agrees, and says goodbye to Rumy. He hangs up the phone, and smiles. He can't wait to see Rumy again, and to start his adventure in north Kora.
He hops into his car with Zal, his loyal companion and protector. A small and sleek dragon with metallic scales and red eyes, Zal is a nen beast from the lost city of Zal. He follows the directions on the map, driving along the dusty roads of West Kora. The sun is shining brightly, and the sky is clear and blue.
He sees the landscape change gradually from plains to lush, as he crosses the border into north Kora. He feels the air become cooler and fresher, and he turns off the air conditioner. He marvels at the sight of the towering trees, the colorful flowers, and the sparkling streams. They are so different from the rocks, and plains of west Kora.
He rolls down his window, inhaling the scent of nature. He smells pine, grass, and earth. He feels a surge of excitement and curiosity, wondering what secrets and surprises await him in north Kora. He hopes to find some new books, some new friends, and some new adventures.
Kai arrives at the border, where Rumy is waiting for him with a smile and a hug. He introduces him to his car, a sleek and spacious SUV with a shiny black color. He says that they will use his car to travel around north Kora, as it is more comfortable and convenient than Kai's car, which he can leave at the border parking lot. He says that he has already booked a hotel for them in the capital city of north Kora, a bustling metropolis with a rich history and culture. He says that they will stay there for the night, and plan their itinerary for the next few days.
He asks him if he has any preferences or requests for their tour, and says that he will try to accommodate them as much as possible. "So, Kai, what do you want to see and do in north Kora? Do you have any specific interests or goals? I have some ideas for you, but I want to make sure that you enjoy your trip as much as possible."
Kai thinks for a moment, and says that he has two main objectives. He says that he wants to find some new books, especially some ancient ones from the library of north Kora. He says that he loves reading and learning new things, and that he hopes to find some rare and valuable books there. He also says that he wants to complete some hunter missions, especially some combat ones. He says that he likes fighting and challenging himself, and that he hopes to improve his skills and earn some rewards there.
Rumy nods, and says that he can help him with both of those objectives. He says that he knows where the library of north Kora is, and that he can get them access to it. He says that it is one of the oldest and most sacred places in north Kora, and that it contains thousands of books from different eras and genres. He also says that he knows where the hunter guild of north Kora is, and that he can get them some missions there. He says that it is one of the most active and respected guilds in north Kora, and that it offers various missions for different levels and types of hunters.
Kai nods in agreement, and follows Rumy to his car. He is eager to see the sights and sounds of north Kora, and to learn more about its people and places. "That sounds awesome, Rumy. Thank you so much for your help and guidance. You're the best tour guide ever."
Rumy smiles, and says that it's his pleasure. He says that he enjoys traveling with Kai, and that he considers him more than a client. He says that he considers him a friend. "You're very welcome, Kai. It's my pleasure to help you out. You're more than a client to me. You're a friend."
Kai smiles back, and says that he feels the same way. He says that Rumy is more than a tour guide to him. He says that he considers him a friend too. "I feel the same way, Rumy. You're more than a tour guide to me. You're a friend too."
Kai thanks Rumy and gets in his car with Zal, who jumps on the back seat. He sees Rumy's car, which is a large SUV with tinted windows and leather seats. It looks sturdy and reliable, the typical SUV for adventuring. He notices that it has a roof rack with some bags and equipment, such as tents, sleeping bags, cooking utensils, etc., and a spare tire on the back. He wonders what kind of adventures Rumy has had with this car, and what kind of adventures they will have together. He buckles his seat belt, and waits for Rumy to start the engine. He looks out the window, and sees the sign that says "Welcome to North Kora". He smiles, and feels a thrill of anticipation.
"Wow, Rumy. Your car is amazing. It looks like you're ready for anything." Kai says, as he admires Rumy's car.
"Thanks, Kai. I'm glad you like it. It's my pride and joy. I've had this car for a long time, and it's been with me through many adventures." Rumy says, as he pats his car.
"Really? What kind of adventures?" Kai asks, as he feels curious.
"Oh, you know. The usual. Exploring new places, meeting new people, fighting new enemies, finding new treasures, etc." Rumy says, as he shrugs.
"Wow. That sounds exciting. Can you tell me some of your stories?" Kai asks, as he feels eager.
"Sure. I have plenty of stories to tell. But not now. We have a long drive ahead of us. I'll tell you some of them along the way." Rumy says.
"Okay. I can't wait to hear them." Kai says, as he nods.
"Are you ready for some fun, Kai?" Rumy asks him, as he turns on the ignition.
"I'm ready as ever, Rumy. Let's go!" Kai replies, as he gives him a thumbs up.
"Alright then. Hold on tight, Zal. We're off to north Kora!" Rumy says, as he drives away from the border.
"Let's go." Kai says, as he follows him.
"Yay!" Zal says, as he wags his tail.
Kai laughs, and enjoys the ride. He can't wait to see what north Kora has to offer.
Kai drives with Rumy to the capital city of north Kora, which is called Nara. He sees the city, which is unlike any other city he has ever seen. The buildings are treehouses, built on the branches and trunks of giant trees. They are connected by bridges and ropes, creating a network of pathways and platforms. The city is harmonious with the forest, blending in with the greenery and the wildlife. Kai is amazed by the sight, and wonders how the people live in such a unique and beautiful place.
"Wow, Rumy. This city is incredible. How do people live here?" Kai asks, as he looks around.
"They live very well, Kai. They have everything they need here. They have water, electricity, internet, etc. They have shops, schools, hospitals, etc. They have a lot of fun and creativity here. They have art, music, sports, etc." Rumy says, as he points out some of the features of the city.
"Really? How do they get all those things here?" Kai asks, as he feels curious.
"They use a combination of technology and nen, Kai. They use solar panels, wind turbines, generators, etc. to produce energy. They use cables, wires, satellites, etc. to transmit signals. They use nen abilities, such as conjuration, manipulation, enhancement, etc. to create and protect their homes. They use a lot of ingenuity and innovation here." Rumy says, as he explains some of the methods of the city.
"Wow. That's amazing. How did they come up with all that?" Kai asks, as he feels impressed.
"They learned from their ancestors, Kai. They inherited their knowledge and nen from them. They also learned from their environment, Kai. They adapted to their surroundings and used their resources wisely." Rumy says, as he tells some of the origins of the city.
"Wow. That's awesome. How long have they been living here?" Kai asks, as he feels interested.
"They've been living here for a very long time, Kai. This city is one of the oldest and most sacred cities in north Kora. It was founded by the first king of north Kora, who was also a great nen user and a friend of the forest. He built this city as a tribute to the forest and its spirits." Rumy says, as he reveals some of the history of the city.
"Wow. That's fascinating. Who are the forest spirits?" Kai asks, as he feels intrigued.
"They are the guardians and rulers of the forest, Kai. They are powerful and mysterious beings who watch over and influence everything in the forest. They are respected and revered by the people of Nara, who have many traditions and rituals that honor them." Rumy says, as he describes some of the culture of the city.
"Wow. That's wonderful. What kind of traditions and rituals do they have?" Kai asks, as he feels eager.
"They have many kinds, Kai. They have festivals, ceremonies, dances, songs, prayers, offerings, etc. They have different ones for different occasions and purposes. They have some for celebrating life and joy, some for mourning death and sorrow, some for asking for blessings and favors, some for giving thanks and gratitude, etc." Rumy says, as he lists some of the activities of the city.
"Wow. That's amazing. Can we see some of them?" Kai asks, as he feels excited.
"Of course we can, Kai. We will see some of them when we visit some of the landmarks and attractions of Nara. We will see some of the temples where they worship the forest spirits. We will see some of the libraries where they store their books and records. We will see some of the theaters where they perform their arts and entertainment." Rumy says, as he outlines some of their plans for the city.
"Wow. That sounds awesome." Kai says.
"It is awesome." Rumy says.
Kai nods in awe, and listens to Rumy's stories with fascination. He can't wait to explore Nara, and to discover its secrets and wonders.
"Here you go, Kai. This is your room key and your brochure. You'll be staying in room 305, on the third floor. It's a nice and cozy room, with a great view of the forest. You'll love it." Rumy says, as he hands him the key and the brochure.
"Thank you, Rumy. I appreciate it." Kai says, as he takes the key and the brochure.
"You're welcome, Kai. I'm glad to help. We'll be staying here for one night, and then we'll start our tour of north Kora tomorrow morning. I've prepared a list of places and events for us to visit and attend. It's all in the brochure. You can take a look at it later." Rumy says, as he shows him the brochure.
"Wow, Rumy. You've done a lot of work. This looks amazing." Kai says, as he glances at the brochure.
"Thanks, Kai. I've tried my best to make this trip as enjoyable and educational as possible for you. We'll be visiting some of the most amazing places and events in north Kora. We'll be going to a wildlife sanctuary, where we can see and interact with some of the rare and exotic animals of north Kora. We'll be going to a lake festival, where we can enjoy the music, dance, food, and crafts of the local people. We'll be going to a forest temple, where we can witness and participate in some of the spiritual ceremonies and practices of Nara. We'll be going to the ancient library, where we can browse and read some of the oldest and most valuable books in the world. And much more." Rumy says, as he lists some of their plans.
"Wow, Rumy. That sounds awesome. I can't wait to see all those things." Kai says, as he feels excited.
"I hope you'll enjoy them, Kai. I hope you'll appreciate the diversity and beauty of north Kora. I hope you'll have a memorable and meaningful experience." Rumy says, as he smiles.
"I'm sure I will, Rumy. Thanks to you." Kai says, as he smiles back.
"You're very welcome, Kai. It's my pleasure." Rumy says.
Kai thanks him sincerely, and says that he is looking forward to it. He takes his room key and his brochure, and follows Rumy to the elevator. He is excited to start his adventure in north Kora, and to learn more about its people and places.
Kai thanks Rumy and goes to his room with Zal, leaving his backpack and suitcase there. He sees his room, which is a spacious room with a big bed, a sofa, a fridge, a bathroom, etc. He feels comfortable and relaxed in his room, which has a cozy and elegant atmosphere. He sees a large window, which offers a stunning view of the forest and the city.
"Wow, Zal. Look at this view. Isn't it beautiful?" Kai says, as he walks over to the window.
"It is beautiful, Kai. I like it." Zal says, as he follows him to the window.
He opens it slightly, and feels a gentle breeze. He hears the sounds of birds and insects. He smiles, and breathes in the fresh air. He feels a sense of peace and wonder, and thinks that this is the perfect place to rest and recharge.
"Ah, this is nice. I feel so calm and happy here." Kai says, as he leans on the window.
"Me too, Kai. Me too." Zal says, as he leans on him.
He decides to take a nap, and then explore the hotel and the city later. He calls Zal to join him on the bed, and cuddles with him. He closes his eyes, and drifts off to sleep.
The next day, Kai decides to explore the city with Zal for a while, feeling curious and adventurous. He takes his camera and notebook with him, ready to capture some images and notes of the things he sees and learns. He also takes some money with him, ready to buy some souvenirs or snacks that catch his eye or taste. He puts on his backpack and sunglasses, and leaves his hotel room.
He walks down the hallway, and takes the elevator to the lobby. He greets the receptionist, who gives him a map of the city. "Good morning, sir. Here's a map of the city for you. It has all the important places and attractions marked on it. I hope you enjoy your stay in Nara." She says, as she hands him the map.
"Good morning, and thank you very much. This is very helpful. I'm sure I'll enjoy my stay here. This city is amazing." He says, as he takes the map.
"You're very welcome, sir. And yes, this city is amazing. There's so much to see and do here. If you need any help or advice, please don't hesitate to ask me or any of the staff. We're always happy to help." She says, as she smiles.
"Thank you, I appreciate it. Have a nice day." He says, as he smiles back.
He thanks her, and walks out of the hotel. He sees Rumy's car parked outside, and waves at him. He tells him that he is going to explore the city for a while, and that he will be back soon. He asks him if he wants to join him, but Rumy says that he has some errands to run, and that he will meet him later. "Hey, Rumy. Good morning. I'm going to explore the city for a while. Do you want to come with me?" He says, as he walks over to him.
"Hey, Kai. Good morning. That sounds like fun, but I have some errands to run. I have to get some supplies and equipment for our tour tomorrow. I also have to check in with some of my contacts and connections here." Rumy says, as he opens his car door.
"Oh, okay. No problem. I understand. How long will you be gone?" He says, as he nods.
"Not too long. Maybe a couple of hours. I'll meet you back here at noon. Is that okay?" Rumy says, as he gets in his car.
"Sure, that's fine. I'll see you then." He says, as he nods again.
"Alright then. Have fun exploring the city, Kai. And be careful out there." Rumy says, as he starts his car.
"Thanks, Rumy. And you too." He says, as he waves at him.
He wishes him a good time, and drives away. Kai nods, and walks to the nearest bridge. He crosses it, and enters the city. He is excited to see what the city has to offer.
Kai explores the city with Zal, seeing different sights and sounds. He sees some people and animals in the city, such as businessmen and women in suits and dresses, who walk briskly and talk on their phones, tourists and locals in casual and colorful outfits, who stroll leisurely and take pictures, dogs and cats of various breeds and sizes, who run around and play with each other, etc.
He hears some noises and voices in the city, such as laughter, shouts, horns, music, etc. He hears the laughter of children, who swing on the ropes and slide on the bridges, the shouts of vendors, who sell their goods and services on the platforms, the horns of cars, who honk to signal their presence and direction, the music of street performers, who sing and play their instruments on the trunks, etc.
Kai visits some places and events in the city, such as a mall where he buys some clothes and gadgets that suit his style and needs. He browses through the stores, and finds some items that catch his eye. He buys a leather jacket, a pair of jeans, a t-shirt, a pair of sunglasses, a watch, a camera, a phone, etc. He tries them on, and likes how they look and feel. He pays for them, and puts them in his backpack.
He also visits a park where he listens to the orchestra of the bird calls and admires the flowers and fountains. He walks on the grass, and feels the softness and freshness. He listens to the bird calls, and hears the melody and harmony. He admires the flowers, and sees the variety and beauty. He sees roses, lilies, orchids, etc. He smells their fragrance, and feels their delicacy. He also sees the fountains, and watches the water spray and sparkle. He sees different shapes and colors of the water, such as circles, stars, rainbows, etc. He feels the mist on his face, and feels the coolness and refreshment.
He also visits a museum where he learns some history and culture of north Kora through paintings and sculptures. He enters the museum, and sees the paintings and sculptures on display. He sees different styles and themes of the art, such as realism, impressionism, expressionism, etc. He sees different subjects and messages of the art, such as nature, people, emotions, etc. He learns about the artists and their stories, such as their backgrounds, inspirations, influences, etc. He appreciates their skills and visions, such as their techniques, colors, shapes, etc.
He also visits a festival where he watches some performances and fireworks that showcase the talent and spirit of the people. He joins the crowd, and feels the energy and excitement. He watches some performances, such as dances, songs, plays, etc. He sees different genres and moods of the performances, such as traditional, modern, comedy, etc. He hears different languages and accents of the performers, such as north Kora, south Kora, east Kora, etc. He enjoys their expressions and movements, such as their smiles, gestures, steps, etc. He also watches some fireworks, that light up the sky with bright and beautiful colors. He sees different patterns and symbols of the fireworks, such as flowers, stars, hearts, etc. He hears different sounds and echoes of the fireworks, such as pops, bangs, booms, etc. He feels their warmth and splendor, such as their heat, glow, sparkle, etc.
He enjoys his time in the city, feeling entertained and happy.
Kai returns to his hotel with Zal, feeling tired and hungry. He orders some room service and eats some food, such as a fresh salad with dressing, a cold juice with ice, and a creamy ice cream with toppings, etc. He enjoys the taste and texture of the food, such as the crunchiness of the lettuce, the sweetness of the juice, and the smoothness of the ice cream. He feeds some food to Zal as well, who also enjoys his meal. He gives him some meat, some water, and some cheese. He sees him chew and swallow the food, and hears him lick and slurp the water and cheese.
Kai goes to sleep with Zal on his bed, feeling cozy and warm. He snuggles with him under the blanket, and feels his fur and breath. He dreams of his adventures in north Kora, wondering what he will see and do tomorrow. He hopes that he will find some new books that will enrich his knowledge. He hopes that he will complete some hunter missions that will challenge his skills and courage, such as fighting, tracking, hunting, etc. He smiles in his sleep, looking forward to the next day.
