Darjan's Chilling Words

Laying on my bed i curled into a ball and bitted my nails as i again sobbed.

The persistent ringing of my phone pierced through the haze of my despair. At first, I ignored it, willing the caller to give up and leave me to my misery. But the incessant sound persisted, refusing to be ignored.

With a heavy sigh, I reached out a trembling hand to grasp my phone, the screen illuminating the darkness of my room.

"Why is Eva calling sniff." I said, my eyes blurry from the tears.

Reluctantly, I answered the intrusive call, tossing the phone onto the bed beside me, its screen casting an eerie glow against the oppressive darkness that enveloped my room.

"Hi, Love. What happened today?" Eva's gentle voice seeped through the speaker, a stark contrast to the tumultuous storm raging within me.
