Chapter 30

"Believe it or not me and Austin used to be friends, he was actually my first friend. Well that was until we both ended up in the regional finals of taekwondo and I beat him. He wasn't happy about it, said I should have just let him win it wouldn't have made a difference" Zaden paused his eyes filled with nostalgia.

"He was embarrassed" Cardan quipped.

"Yeah when my dad found out he gave me the whole friendship speech and so I ended our 'friendship'. He didn't like that but he adapted to it real quick. That was until the girl he liked confessed his feelings to me and suddenly it felt like I was taking over his life. His words not mine. He started off by bullying me throwing jabs here and there taking my money and lunch all the small stuff. His crush thought it was her fault so she left-"

"Wait how old were you guys even?" Cardan cut him off, this all seemed like some TV drama.

"We were the ages between 13-14. Now stop interrupting me. Like I said she left and it seemed to make the situation bad so he bribed a few high schoolers to give me a beating. It backfired since I beat all of them up in the end. Perks of having a taekwondo father, that made matters worse as he began targeting my sister she was so lonely that it was surprising when Brianna became her friend. But after Wren came she moved here last year he stopped I don't know what she did but he went back to pretending like we didn't know each other."

"Up until a few days ago..." Cardan filled in before adding"Do you think Austin has some mental disorder and why do you think Wren helped you?" Cardan asked as a sigh left his lips.

"He could and the Wren thing I don't really know why but my guess is that she probably knew what he was doing was low even for her. But my question is why did he attack me what the hell man..." a sigh of frustration left his lips as he rubbed his face harshly Cardan had to pull his hands away from his face noticing how red his face was becoming.

"Thanks for telling me Zade" Cardan said as he slapped Zaden's back with his hand. Zaden just awkwardly nodded and silence followed soon after and it was shockingly peaceful.

-Ring-Ring- Zaden took out his phone and answered the call.

"-Yeah I'm on my way- I have to go my dad needs help packing up at the dojo" Zaden said after hanging up the phone.

"Oh, then greet your parents for me especially Noa" Cardan finished with a cheesy smile which inked Zaden for a few seconds before he left.

Entering the restaurant once more he took a seat in one of the empty tables. He couldn't help but think if he should still go through with his revenge now, because if it's found out that it was him he had a feeling that he wouldn't be the only one in trouble but Zaden too.

"Cardan what are you doing here?" Wren's voice said from in front of him.

When he turned to her his face remained blank. She was dressed in hot pink leather jeans that were wide at the bottom with a matching pink corset and high heeled boots.Her hair was styled in a wavy way and she still had that fringe cut. Her eyes had pink light glitter around them and with matching pink earrings...all pink...

"I should be asking you the same question Wren?" Cardan responded.

Lifting her eyebrow she asked "What no Be-Wren and didn't I tell you to call me my empress."

"So you noticed" Cardan muttered before adding "Then what brings you here 'my empress"' he finished with an eye roll.

"I don't like your attitude but don't worry we'll work on it. The reason I'm here is because it's my favourite local restaurant do I need any other reason. So why are you here?" she finished as she took a seat right in front of him folding one leg over the other.

"I work here" Cardan said before adding"Can I ask you a question...my empress" this time he said her 'title' with devotion and loyalty although fake it still brought a shockingly beautiful smile on her face. Too bad she was ...well her.

"Since you asked nicely my loyal slave I will only tell you this.I don't like what my cousin did it was basically illegal" a frown appeared on her face as she said that.

"I see then" Cardan said as his fingers began tapping the table "Does he have some mental disorder or something" Cardan said absent mindedly.

A look of shock took over Wren's face before she bursted out laughing "Oh my dear slave wouldn't you like to know, but you see time is running out for me and so I must go" as soon as she said that she stood up and blow a kiss at Cardan with a wink which caused a frown to appear on his face.

Sighing.He helped clean a little and waited with Remy as his parents picked him up before returning back to his flat.

What a long day Cardan couldn't help but think as he threw himself on his makeshift bed.
