Jalen was never even under suspicion... 

The next morning, I summoned Jalen and Vorak into my office and had them shut the door behind them. 

"Gentlemen," I clarified, "I have a lunch meeting at a restaurant known as 'The Veranda' in a couple of hours. I'll be dining with a particular individual and having a conversation with him. There's a possibility that he might attempt to harm me physically. Your job is to ensure that doesn't happen. Understood?"

"Affirmative," responded Vorak.

"Piece of cake, boss," Jalen assured. "If he makes a move, he'll be in pieces."

"Excellent," I said, pleased with their confidence. "I'd also like you to accompany me to and from the restaurant."

"Understood," Vorak confirmed.

"It's all included, boss," Jalen added.

"We'll depart fifteen minutes before midday."

"We'll be ready," Jalen assured. He glanced at Vorak. "Should we scout the place beforehand?"

"Yes," Vorak agreed.
