Dogfight

Thad groaned in pain as Lizzy and Doll helped him to his feet. His eyes were filled with rage as he looked at Khan and his friends, who had backed away in fear.

"So... They found our evacuation spot. But, if we build a quick door..." Khan started, trying to come up with a plan.

Thad's patience snapped at Khan's words, and he let out a furious scream. "Are you kidding me?! You're the WDF, right? Defend!" He yelled, his voice echoing through the hallway.

But his words fell on deaf ears as Khan and his friends backed off in cowardice. Thad was incredulous. "For real?!" He muttered under his breath.

Just then, V appeared out of nowhere and flung Thad backwards with incredible force. Lizzy and Doll rushed to his aid, but it was clear that Thad was badly hurt. As V advanced on Thad with a menacing gleam in her eye, an explosion suddenly rocked the hallway, blowing the door open. Uzi, Y/N, and N charged in, weapons at the ready.

"Hey!" Uzi called out to V, drawing her attention away from Thad. "Put that conventionally attractive male down!" She shouted, referring to Thad.

Uzi and Y/N struck a pose, looking totally cool, while N simply waved. Uzi nudged him, trying to get him to take the situation more seriously.

"Oh! Uh, J, you're sometimes kind of mean to me, and I wish you weren't. Just some constructive criticism." N said, trying to come up with a good one-liner.

"Nice." Uzi said, giving N a fist bump.

J looked amused by N's lame line. "Noted, traitor. We'll circle back after I right-size your existence!" she said, a hint of a smile playing on her lips.

"Okay, which one do you want?" Uzi asked N, referring to which enemy he wanted to take on.

"J, please." N replied.

"Too bad. Good luck. Y/N, stick with me." Uzi commanded, taking charge of the situation.

Y/N nodded, now having a better grasp on how their defense system worked, and they moved to back up Uzi as she prepared to face off against V and J.

Uzi leaned in, her voice barely above a whisper, "Psst...say the thing." She had been rehearsing this one-liner with Y/N for a few minutes, eager to deliver it in front of their enemis.

Y/N furrowed their brow, momentarily forgetting the line they had worked on. They took a deep breath, trying to recall the words. Finally, they cleared their throat, their voice trembling slightly.

"It's time to kick ass and chew bubblegum. And, uh, I'm all outta gum. I mean, not that I had any in the first place, but- Y'know." They trailed off, uncertain if they had delivered the line with enough conviction.

Uzi nodded, a small smile spreading across her face. "Good enough!" She said, patting Y/N on the back, a sly smile playing at the corners of her mouth.

"Hah! What are two worker drones gonna do against...someone...like..." J's words trailed off as she got a better look at Y/N's appearance, her eyes widening in surprise and shifting to the shape of hearts. "Oh...my..."

As if hit by a bolt of lightning, J's demeanor changed completely. Soft jazz music began playing in her head, and the world around her took on a dreamlike quality. Colors became brighter, sounds became softer, and imaginary floating yellow hearts began to fill her vision.

She couldn't help but giggle as she swung left and right, a lovey-dovey gaze fixed on Y/N. It was like something out of a corny 80's romance movie, and J was powerless to resist the sudden onslaught of feelings that had overtaken her.

J's voice dripped with honey as she gazed at Y/N, completely entranced by their looks. "Hiii handsome~" She purred, her eyes fixed on Y/N's face.

In one swift motion, she lunged forward, grabbing Y/N's face and planting a kiss on their cheek. The room fell silent, stunned by the unexpected display of affection. Y/N, not fully grasping the concept of a kiss, simply mimicked J's actions, completely oblivious to the meaning behind it.

"Agh, yuck! That's disgusting!" Uzi exclaimed, her hand covering her mouth in disgust. N laughed nervously, clearly uncomfortable with the situation.

Uzi turned to Y/N, her voice rising in frustration. "No, we're NOT doing this right now! And you, don't go copying everything you see, especially from them!" she scolded. "And get the twin-tailed freak off you before I do!"

"Okay." Y/N replied, their body beginning to glow with a green aura. With a sudden burst of energy, they pushed J away, sending her crashing into the wall.

J snapped out of her enamored state, her original composure returning in an instant. As J regained her bearings, she noticed that Uzi had thrown a pen into one of her hair's neon yellow lights, causing a viscous liquid to leak out.

"Damn the well-made quality assured durability of JCJensen's products!" J cursed, before noticing something coming at her. "Huh?"

Suddenly, a blur caught her eye, and before she knew it, Uzi's foot connected with her face, sending her reeling backwards.

Meanwhile, N struggled to control his gatling gun arm, which seemed to be malfunctioning. Hearts spewed out of the weapon, making it clear that his thoughts were not entirely focused on the battle at hand.

"Ah! My mind's in a weird place! Don't read into this!" N yelled in panic as he narrowly avoided a rocket launched by V.

As V continued to rain down attacks, Y/N stepped up to the plate, copying her weapon and engaging in a heated exchange of gunfire. N, for his part, tried to provide backup with a sword hand.

But even with their combined efforts, J proved to be too much for Uzi. With a swift motion, she grabbed Uzi and threw her down onto the ground, knocking her out cold.

"Uzi!" N and Y/N yelled out in unison.

Realizing that Uzi needed help, N turned to Y/N. "Okay, Y/N, you go and help her!" He said, prompting Y/N to nod resolutely.

Y/N felt the weight of the gatling gun in their hand, their pointer hovering over their target as they locked eyes with J. The wind whipped around them as J expanded her wings.

Y/N watched in awe as J took flight, her body soaring up towards the ceiling of the facility. J's movements were graceful and fluid, as she gained the higher ground and better space to move around.

But Y/N was not one to be outdone. They concentrated, their mind focused on copying J's wings. Suddenly, Y/N felt a strange sensation wash over them, as their body morphed and changed.

Unlike J's pair of bladed wings, theirs resembled a bigger version of a quadcopter's frame, with four propellers on each end. Y/N marveled at their new appendages, feeling the weight of the technology and the power it held.

However, Y/N quickly realized they had little experience with flight. They struggled to control these new "wings" they'd made for themselves, their body tilting and swerving as they tried to aim at J.

The gatling gun in their hand rattled as they fired, but their shots mostly missed their mark. J, on the other hand, was having an equally as hard time. Y/N just wouldn't stay still, moving in unpredictable patterns as they tried to take her down.

Meanwhile, back with N and V, the tension was palpable. V had N pinned to the ground, her blade pressed against his neck. N's mind raced as he searched for a way out. Suddenly, an idea popped into his head. He had to act fast.

"I'm so, so sorry. Have fun repressing this!" He said as he licked V's sword hand, taking her by surprise.

"Ew! What the hell?!" V screamed, recoiling in disgust.

In that split second, N seized the opportunity to strike. He kicked V down, her body tumbling to the ground as N scrambled to his feet.

Uzi's head was spinning as she fought to regain her senses. She clutched her railgun tightly, feeling the weight of it in her hand as she tried to focus. Through the haze, she could see J darting around in the distance, her movements fluid and graceful. Uzi knew she had to act fast.

"Damn, I don't have a clean shot!" Uzi yelled out, frustration evident in her voice. She kept up the dogfighting with Y/N, trying to get a clear line of sight on J.

"Y/N, knock her down for me, will ya?" Uzi called out, desperation creeping into her words.

"And how do I do that?" Y/N inquired, their voice tense as they tried to keep up with J's movements.

"Just try something! Like, I don't know, use your head!" Uzi suggested, hoping Y/N would understand her meaning.

Taking Uzi's advice a bit too literally, Y/N charged towards J with reckless abandon. They threw their entire body at her, knocking both her and themselves to the ground. As they fell, J had accidentally impaled her tail's syringe into her right leg, causing her to cry out in pain.

"GAH! FOUR! QUARTER! PROFITS! MOTHERF-! COMPANY ISSUED RETREATS!" J cursed, her words cut short by the agony she felt.

But she was surrounded, Uzi aiming her railgun at her and Y/N pointing their cannon. With her foot jammed into some rubble, J had no escape.

"One more buzzword and I'll do it!" Uzi threatened, her voice steely and determined.

"...Equity partnersh-" J began.

"Hit it!" Uzi commanded as she cut off J by pulling the trigger at the same time Y/N fired their cannon.

The rays clashed with a beam struggle, J caught in the middle of it. The beams collided with a deafening explosion, sending shockwaves throughout the room. When the smoke cleared, the two worker drones were blown backwards to either side of the room.

What was left of J's body was close to nothing, leaving behind only a few pieces of metal and scrap. The room fell silent, the only sound the hum of machinery in the background.

Uzi's legs felt heavy as she stumbled to pick herself up, her head still ringing from the explosion's impact. The smoke cleared to reveal the other worker drones, who had emerged from their hiding spots and were cheering loudly for Uzi.

She felt a wave of relief and exhaustion wash over her, and almost collapsed if it weren't for N's arms catching her. Y/N looked on, their metallic face showing a hint of pride for their fellow drone's victory.

Thad spoke up, breaking the momentary silence. "Holy hell, Uzi, that was insane! And you too, uh..." He trailed off, looking over at N and Y/N.

N took the cue to introduce himself. "Huh? Oh! N! I'm an angsty rebellious disassembly drone now."

Y/N followed suit. "And I'm Y/N, a resurrected, nuclear-powered beta version of an updated worker drone."

The sound of someone clearing their throat interrupted their introductions. It was Khan, Uzi's father. Uzi's face twisted into a mixture of anger and disappointment, and she threw her wrench at his feet.

"I brought the murder drones here accidentally. You chose to leave me for dead instead of just freaking believing in me! That's not even an edgy teen hyperbole like when I said it last week!" Uzi's voice was thick with emotion, and she had to slap herself to regain her composure.

"I'll save you the trouble, dad. I banish myself! Let's go, Y/N, N." She turned around and began to walk away, her voice barely above a whisper, "Everyone here can bite me!"

N tried to lighten the mood by saying. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Uzi!" but received a smack from Uzi.

"Shut it." She said, walking past him.

Y/N's internal conflict was like a knot in their chest, a feeling of uncertainty that they couldn't shake off. As they walked alongside Uzi, they tried to understand why they were experiencing such conflicting emotions. They couldn't identify the source of their emotions, but they could feel it brewing inside of them. It was a strange sensation, like an itch that couldn't be scratched.

Despite their confusion, Y/N remained loyal to Uzi, as if bound by some unbreakable code. They trusted her implicitly, even though they couldn't quite put a finger on why.

Perhaps it was because Uzi was the first drone they had ever interacted with, or maybe it was because she had granted them life. Regardless, Y/N would follow Uzi's orders to the letter.

As Uzi ordered Y/N to bring along V, Y/N complied, dragging the tied-up murder drone behind them. V struggled against her restraints, but it was no use. She was powerless in their grasp.

Khan watched the group depart with a sense of disappointment. He took a sip from his mug, the "#1 Dad" written on it now an ironic joke. He couldn't help but feel responsible for the situation, and he couldn't shake off the feeling that he had let his daughter down.

Amidst the desolate tundra, Uzi perched herself atop a rusted, abandoned car, with only the cold wind and frozen wasteland for company. Her thoughts raced as she pondered the mission at hand.

Meanwhile, N found refuge in the ominous Corpse House, a macabre structure of decay and ruin that offered shelter from the scorching sun. N lurked in the shadows, avoiding even the slightest ray of sunlight.

While N observed from the darkness, Y/N, the newest addition to their group, delved deep into the intricate workings of their own programming, flicking through pages of their manual with curiosity and a desire to know more.

Suddenly, N's voice echoed through the halls of the abandoned structure, disrupting the silence. "I'd join you two if the sun didn't kill me. Hope both of you are having important character growth or something, though!" He said, half-jokingly.

Uzi smirked, her eyes glinting with a fiery intensity. "Just can't wait to murder all humans. Classic robot stuff. I hope they're sitting pretty there on Earth, because we're coming for them...!" She then cocked her head to the side, staring at Y/N. "And we've got the firepower to do so. Just need to scale things a bit more..."

As if possessed by some malevolent force, Uzi's mind began to unravel, consumed by a lust for destruction and chaos. Her laughter grew increasingly maniacal, signaling a descent into madness.

"And I've got not one, but two deadly drones on my side. One disassembly drone, and a worker drone with the power of radioactive energy and enough potency to blow a whole city to kingdom come!" She exclaimed, her voice reaching a fever pitch. "But still, I can't wait to blast them all to smithereens, and then sit back and watch the devastation unfold!"

Y/N, still naive and unaware of Uzi's unhinged state, joined in on the laughter. The sound of their amusement filled the desolate landscape, a stark contrast to the impending doom that lurked in the shadows.
