"Pfft—" Dane suppressed his laughter, but to no avail. His laughter was still heard from within him, which grew louder by the second. "Haha!"
Alfred, Romnick, and a few others in the same room with him couldn't help but look at each other. Just now, their boss received a phone call. It was brief. But the moment Dane hung up, he started laughing like a maniac.
"Oh, goodness." Dane shook his head, running his fingers through his hair. He then snapped his eyes up, only to see his people looking at him with genuine wonder in their eyes.
Reclining against the armchair, the corner of his lips curled up into a smirk. "Didn't I tell you not to worry about the Central Intelligence?"
"Boss, what do you mean?" Alfred asked out of plain curiosity. "What happened?"
