Tarts

"Is everything alright?" Leo asked, looking at Hera cautiously.

Earlier today, he had seen Hera with an old man in the pavilion. Knowing he shouldn't interfere, he went back to his room. However, about an hour later, Hera suddenly entered the guesthouse without saying anything. All she did was sit in the small lobby area, staring into nothing. It was concerning.

"Hera?" he called one more time, clearing his throat to get her attention. "Can you hear me?"

"I'm doomed," Hera whispered listlessly, her eyes fixed on the centerpiece in the middle of the coffee table.

"Doomed?" Leo repeated, confused. "What do you mean by that?"

Hera slowly blinked, shifting her gaze to him. "It means... I might not get out of here."

Deep lines appeared between his brows as he assessed the pale look on her face. A short smile turned up on his face as he exhaled deeply.

"Is that so?" he said. "Well, I guess that means I might not get out of here too."
