"I never thought that I'd ever work with you. However, I hope with this, we'd get the peace we seek, Alexander."
After Heaven said her piece, she ended the call shortly. Primo held the phone still before his hand fell to his side. He lay on his back in the soft grass near the rustic cabin, squinting a little as he stared at the clouds moving slowly in the clear blue sky.
"What a freaking day," he muttered, closing his eyes and smiling. "Heaven Liu. What a funny name. She's more like a nightmare—or better yet, hell itself."
A moment of silence descended upon Primo. He listened to the humming of the wind and the chirping of the birds in the distance. The rustle of the bushes and trees harmonized with it, giving him a moment of tranquility. When Primo first moved into this old cabin, he was completely against it. But now, he couldn't confidently say there weren't any good things about living in the middle of nowhere.
