Operation: seduce the husband commence!

Dominic arched his brow once again when his phone beeped. He ignored Heaven's last message, as he didn't know what to say, diverting his attention to his work, only to get distracted by his phone again. Even though he knew it was a distraction, Dominic still picked up his phone to see what she had to say.

[ From: Heaven

Let's eat this together.

He scrolled up, only to see a box of bread. He could see a part of her bed on the phone and a bit of her knee. It only displayed she was already home, and it was actually Heaven who had been messaging him since this afternoon.

"Eat this together…" he repeated under his breath.

At first, Dominic didn't want to jump to a conclusion when she said she bought something for him. After all, the intention of the message was vague, and he didn't want to misunderstand and assume she wanted him to come home.

But with this message, he couldn't help but ask.

You want me to come home?]

"Damn right!" Heaven yelled at her phone before massaging her temple. "Oh, god. Do I really have to spell it out for him? I kept it vague because I don't want to overdo it, but it seems that is not the way."

Heaven kept her eyes closed as she cool down her emotion. When she calmed down, she took another deep breath and refocused her attention on her phone as if her life depended on it.

[ From: Heaven

Well, if only you can. But if there's something important you must do, I will just buy another one once you come home. ]

At this point, Dominic returned to his work as he waited for her reply. It took her five minutes to respond, but he waited. And now that she did, it only heightened his puzzlement. He read her message more than three times, and he couldn't mistake it this time.

Heaven made it very clear.

She wanted him to come home.

"How strange," he whispered while his thumb hovered over the screen. "She wants me to come home just to eat some bread… together?"

Truly a strange phenomenon.

Just what did this woman eat for her to change overnight?

Did the divorce scare her? So now she was trying to get herself together?

Impossible.

One thing Dominic knew about Heaven that others don't know was Heaven never cared about her status as his wife. For others, being Dominic's wife and being a part of the Zhu Family was akin to winning the jackpot. However, Heaven wasn't like that. She might be a neglectful wife and mother, but she never took advantage of her husband's wealth.

He couldn't say that was a redeeming quality, but at least, Heaven never used her son to fulfill her greed.

So Dominic was utterly speechless.

"Does she… really want to change?" he wondered, eyes on the screen. "Do you… really want to fix the unfixable?"

"Damn it. Did I overdo it this time? Why isn't he responding? Should I send him a message again?" Heaven paced back and forth nervously, biting the tip of her thumb while waiting for her husband's reply. It had been twenty minutes since she texted him, but until now, there was no reply from him.

"No, no. I need to be patient," she told herself. "He is a busy man. He's probably in the middle of something and I'm interrupting him. I should wait more — at least, give him an hour or so."

Heaven nodded as she convinced herself to extend her patience. Even though she was a short-tempered person, her habits in her previous life wouldn't help her in this new life. She wasn't the boss anymore, and she had to accept she was in the wrong this time.

In other words, she had to be patient and persistent in persuading her husband. At least, if Heaven and Dominic would have a much better relationship, it would influence their son. Of course, she planned to win her son's heart over but to show her sincerity, she must give Sebastian a better environment.

To do that, Heaven and Dominic should be friends, at least. She could focus on romance once Dominic was a lot more comfortable around her.

DING!

Heaven jumped to the bed the second she heard her phone. She caught her phone as if she was catching a fish, hugging it before rolling on her back. She moved her phone over her, feeling her heart thud against her chest.

[From: Dominic

I'll be home at 8. ]

Heaven gasped, eyes twinkling at the response she got. "He will really go home?" the corner of her lips stretched uncontrollably until her teeth were on full display.

"He'll make time for me? Me?" she giggled. "Of course, I am his wife."

[From: Heaven

Really? Then, should I make you dinner? Let's have dinner together?]

"Dinner together?" Dominic cocked his head to the side, sensing the excitement in that last message.

He wanted to ignore the way she replied, but he couldn't help it. This was the first time they talked about something other than her grudges and how she would never forgive him for ruining her life. But now, she had been sending him normal messages — oddly normal messages — as if they truly have that sort of relationship.

Sure. ]

Heaven's eyes blazed with determination. She sat up on the bed as an invisible fire surrounded her.

"A dinner date with my crush," she said with a shaking voice, on fire at this opportunity her husband was willing to give her without a problem. "This cannot fail — Miriam!!"

Heaven didn't waste a second, jumping out of bed and going out of her room while screaming for Miriam's name. Her voice which was barely heard in the mansion in the past five years since she stepped foot in this household echoed across the entire manor, surprising everyone that Heaven could actually yell so loud she didn't need a microphone.
