A sudden rush of air escaped Anna's parted lips as her eyes shot open, wide and startled. Blinking against the harsh tent light, her heart raced in her chest like a wild stallion. 

he found herself sprawled within the tent's confines, the fabric cool against her skin. With a shaky exhale, she brought a trembling hand to her flushed face, her fingers feeling the sweat-dampened skin beneath them.

''That wasn't a dream…" Her voice was a hushed admission, a sliver of disbelief wrapped around each word.

Her legs, bare and exposed, met the tent floor in a continuous rhythm, a nervous dance born from the intensity of her thoughts. 

Slowly, like a leaf trembling in the wind, she lowered her hand from her face, her wide eyes sweeping the dimly lit interior.
