"I should... kill you?"
When Heidi heard Elijah's request, she struggled to grasp the teen's meaning for a moment. Elijah nodded to confirm his words. Without 'death', he would never be able to kill Marquess Flint, who was always surrounded by people who protected him.
"Marquess Flint has ordered you to kill me, right? You won't be able to return before completing the task. At least, I know the curse magic on your body will not let you do so."
Heidi bit her lip as Elijah spoke of the reality she had to face as a slave. Violating the orders given by her master would subject Heidi to such cruel torture that she would rather die than continue to live in torment. Heidi knew because she had been there. And since then, Heidi knew better than anyone else that disobeying orders was not an option for slaves like them.
