Here's the teaser of what I'm writing: As you may know, the majority voted for a harem, so my aim is to make it as genuine as possible—nothing stupid, forced, or unbelievable. Perhaps it isn't so far-fetched, considering it's set in an apocalypse.
Anyways, without further ado, here's the teaser! I'd love to hear your thoughts from both a logical standpoint and a personal one. Here it is!
(Note: Keep in mind this isn't the finished product and some context is left out. Also it possesses some insight to his past.)
*********************************
Sighing at the memory, he placed the candy back into his pocket as he thought, 'Perhaps I'm getting soft it seems.'
Yes, he had demonstrated consideration in the past; however, those were merely facades. But were they truly just facades? They were meant to serve as tools for specific moments, aimed at achieving desired outcomes and effects.
Perhaps the crumbling world around them had triggered Nagi's recent feelings of consideration, or maybe it was the constant interaction with this group that had stirred up past emotions. Nagi couldn't discern the cause anymore; it had been too long for him to comprehend such things now.
Though if there was an answer it would be Neuroplasticity. Neuroplasticity refers to the brain's ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections in response to experience. As Nagi interacted with the group of survivors on a daily basis, his brain may have started to rewire itself to accommodate the demands of this new reality.
The repeated exposure to the group's cooperative and compassionate behaviors might have activated neural circuits related to empathy and social bonding. As Nagi observed acts of consideration and compassion in his peers, his mirror neuron system may have fired, leading to an internal simulation of those emotions and actions.
Over time, this could have influenced his own emotional responses, causing him to experience, to some extent, the feelings of consideration that were once dormant.

Anyways, that's the end. Now, please share your thoughts from both a logical and personal standpoint. I'm seeking productive criticism to make this harem genuine.
Also, if you're worried about Nagi's personality changing to a white knight or the like, rest assured! Nagi will stay true to his personality, with the only changes being emotional growth-wise.
