Right or Wrong??

Nathan stared eyes wide at his palm. He was struck with disbelief as the ceramic in Vivian's hands slowly slipped. Falling to the ground, the sound of ceramic clashing with the ground echoed in his ears.

Jane also sat up to stare closely at him. "Nathan,that...that just...."

"It just healed. Not even leaving a scar. It healed just like that." There was disbelief in Vivian's voice as she spoke . Both Nathan and Jane could tell. Yet they themselves couldn't understand how it healed either...

The whole dinning room was lit as the clicking of forks and knives echoed through out. Dinner was laid out as they all dinned silently.

"How were your classes? Did they go well?." Alfred asked Nathan as he picked up his cup of water. Vivian immediately looked up at Nathan who was sited across the table in front of her. His reaction wasn't any less of what she'd expected. He abruptly stopped halfway just when the fork was about placing a piece of meat in his mouth. She watched as his elegant grip on the cutlery knife tightened. He was probably feeling uneasy. The images were quite disturbing if you asked Vivian. All that blood, his mother's eyes when she looked up at him. Lastly, the unbelievable incident of his hand injury slowy healing on its own. She wondered if his hand had a mind of its own. The way it'd happened. Everything seemed so abnormal. Of course it was. Right?..

"Nathan?." He called slowly when he received not an answer but a silent and unmoving child.

"Oh!! Classes!!." Vivian shouted aloud when Alfred's call to Nathan brought her out of thought. Everyone including Nathan looked up at her. "Classes where just fine!! Probably the best I've ever attended!!." Vivian smiled that deceiving smile of hers. That one that was never mistaken for a lie.

Alfred tilted his head at her. Raising a brow. "Really?." he asked picking up his glass of wine. He stole a sip from it.

"Mmm-hmm." Vivian nodded. She seemed to act so well. Pretending she was so excited about how the lessons had went knowing fully well what had happened. "In fact, Nathan, seemed to would have made a friend." She smiled.

Alfred's eyes widened in shock and surprise. He seemed so....could it have been true? Nathan really made a friend? "A friend?!." He asked in outmost shock.

Everyone's expression was thesame as Alfred's,maybe even more shocked since every one else in that dinning knew the real truth about how the classes went.

Jane immediately turned to face Nathan. He wasn't looking up. He just stared down at his food. His grip on everything he held tightened. His aura was slowly darkening. It was funny how she felt it.

"You made a friend Nathan? If i may ask who's this lucky person? A male or..?"

"It was male to be precise." She smiled.

"It was?." He raised a brown as she nodded. He turned back to stare at Nathan who was just quiet and listening. He turned back to Vivian. "And who's this friend?." He asked.

"The kings third son uncle. His highness Clinton Atkinson." Vivian finished. Just as she did Nathan's fist made a rough and hard contact with the table. He stood up,his head was still low.

"I..can never ever be seen with such a bastard. Not in my whole life. Watch your lies Vivian." He finished as he walked out of the dinning room. Leaving everyone astonished with his act.

Jane watched him leave. She wondered what could have made him act like that. Was it what Vivian had said? Or probably just the thought of being Clinton's friend? Was there really that much of conflict between those two? Could it have just been that single thought?

Alfred rethought on the last word he'd heard Nathan say. 'Lies'. Did that mean Vivian was lying or was it something else. With this thought he stood up. Walking as fast as he could to catch up with Nathan.

Vivian too was now standing. There was panic written all of her face. It was clear she was scared. But of what? Trying to help her cousin? She'd only done what she thought was right. How was she to know it wasn't the right thing. Maybe adding a little to convince her uncle was too much? She wouldn't have even brought up the topic. Nothing about friendship or Clinton. What had she done?!. Her eyes teared up as she stared at Jane. She immediately walked over to where the woman stood. She held Jane's hands in hers.

"Auntie...will Nathan be okay?." She asked her. Jane only stared at Vivian. For the first time ever she wasn't able to answer that question. That one question she was always able to answer with a smile and a comforting one at that. Now she just stared back with the most teary eyes....

Alfred walked into the sitting room of his son's extra large bedroom. He looked round before hurrying into the main bedroom. The shattered vases on the floor were enough to answer him as he arrived into the bedroom.

Nathan stood by a broken vase. His hands were clenched into a threatening fist.Alfred walked closer to his furiously panting son.

"Leave." Were the simple words he uttered as his father came closer.

"Nathan..."Alfred called gently.

"Leave!!."He yelled this time turning to his father in furry. Only for a small and shaky body to wrap her small arms round his torso. Her shoulders were shaking and the part in which she buried her face went wet immediately with her tears.

It was Vivian. What was she doing? He tilted his head slightly in confusion as he bent to look down at her face as she now stared at him. Deep into his silver eyes. It was clear she was so hurt. His arm slowly lowered from where it froze in mid air.

"Nathan I'm sorry. I lied way too much this time. I was just trying to help you out. I knew you had no intentions of telling him about the fight so i tried covering up for you. I understand now that you hate Clinton so very much and I'll never call him your friend again. Just please stop. Please don't fight your father. I'm sorry." Vivian finished up burying her face in his chest as she cried some more. She tightened her grip round him and seemed unwilling to let him go. At least not until he forgave her.

Nathan said nothing. Instead,he lowered his arms and wrapped them round her. He wanted to tell her it was okay and he'd forgiven her. He just didn't know how to say it. Vivian smiled admist her tears as Nathan hugged her back. Now she was sure that she was forgiven by her beloved cousin. Her teary eyes looked up at him with a smile of relief as she withdrew from the hug.

Alfred was quiet. Yet again thinking on what Vivian had said.

"You had a fight?." Alfred asked raising a brow at Nathan. Who's half smile slowly faded on hearing the question. He stayed mute. Not because he wanted to but because he wasn't sure what to say.

"Yes." he replied. Just like that. With no other words or answers attached. Just with a simple yes. And if only he hadn't gotten in a fight then his answer would have been just a simple no.

Alfred was stunned at the fact that Nathan got himself caught up in a fight. For all he knew that boy was the most sefl-controled person he'd ever known. But at the same time,it wasn't impossible either. It was just rarely any kind of report he got about his son.

"B..but you don't have to get mad at him! It wasn't his fault either. He did that because of me. It wasn't his fault. I swear." Vivian said sharply. She was standing and looking up at Alfred since she was the shortest in the room and had to look up to stare at anyone's face.

"Because of you?."

"Mmm." She nodded meekly.

Alfred turned to Nathan walking closer to the boy. "Was It serious? Did you get injured or anything?." He asked holding the boy. His eyes searched him. As if he'd been looking for something. It just wasn't clear what it was.

Vivian turned to Jane as soon as Alfred had mentioned having any injuries. Jane shook her head slightly. Motioning to her not to say a word. At least not anything about the incident.

Alfred looked up into the eyes of this ever so silent son of his. The boy wasn't saying anything and neither was anyone in the room. Why wasn't Jane rushing to him to tell him that Nathan was fine and had all his injuries treated. What was this silence and what did it mean?!....

A dark chuckle echoed the whole place as the silver haired creature sat comfortably on his throne as he gulped down glasses upon glasses of an expensive liquor. He took a sip this time around staring at his reflection in the glass.

"So its time already? How many years has it been? Four, five, eighteen?." He laughed again. "A deal is a deal. Now keep your end of it old friend." He said lastly as his reflection in the glass changed to a much younger and silver haired person...

Alfred shut his eyes open. It was night and the windows where open. The cold wind seeped in as the silk curtains danced around in the air. The moon shining bright outside on the balcony.

He turned to stare at Jane who lay peacefully in bed. Slowly,he climbed down. He was probably just having a nightmare. That was all.

Alfred walked to the balcony after closing the windows and adjusting Jane's bed cover. He stood there for a while, his hands where placed on the cold railings as he stared at the fog covered hills. He sighed deeply.

"Alfred." There was a stern call to him from behind. So stern and manly that he at once turned. His eyes slowly widening in shock at the sight of Abadon. A long seen friend.

"A..abadon?." He creased his brows. He was in shock at the sight of this man and how on earth he'd gotten in. "W..what are you doing here?." He asked in outmost confusion.

"Any guess?." He spread his arms in a questioning manner as he walked closer.

"Lucifer sent you didn't he?." Alfred asked as soon as he got the logic and most reasonable thought on what the devils third brother could probably be doing on his balcony at that time.

"So you know what you did?." Abadon raised a brow at him.

Alfred turned away from Abadon as the man walked to stand beside him.

"What i did was for us."

"You did that for yourself Alfred. Did you think what she would say if she knew where you were headed in the first place?." Abadon asked in quite a challenging manner.

"Listen Abadon...."

"It was never right to give out souls that were never yours." He spoke in an annoyed manner.

"I had to."Alfred tried his best to say it from within. Even he seemed to wonder if he'd waited a little longer. What would have happened.

Abadon stared deeply at him.He took a deep breath turning away. "Its time."He said leaving Alfred confused. "Now its your turn to keep the end of the deal....old friend." He walked over to the other side of the balcony.

"This was his message to you." He said as he now became one with the myst.Slowly disappearing from where he stood.

Alfred was speechless. He just atood there with nothing to think or say.

"Alfred?.." Another voice called him. Only that this time it was feminine and low. He turned to see Jane. She was standing by the balcony door. She walked slowly towards. him. Adjusting her night robe. "Where you talking with someone?." She asked him as she arrived his front.

"No." He smiled. "Did i wake you by leaving?." He asked and she smiled as she disagreed by nodding. For a while they stayed quiet.

"Alfred. I'm afraid." Jane suddenly said breaking the chain of silence and keeping Alfred stunned.

"Afraid?." He asked her.

"I probably didn't tell you this earlier but, something's up with Nathan. After the fight Vivian and i took Nathan in for treatment. But...as..as i wiped the blood off his hand,i saw a wound. It was deep and then it immediately healed. Without ointment or anything. It didn't even leave a scar. Alfred. I had no idea about what had happened and..and i still don't. Please tell me Alfred. What is this. Is anything wrong with him?."

Jane was pleading to know. So it really was time? Time to loose his son? He suffered so much to have that child and so would he lose him? Just like that?

Slowly,he hugged her. Stroking her hair gently.

"He's fine. Everything will be alright." He said. Doubting the fact himself....

"Don't make the decorations too dark and not too bright either." Vivian beamed with joy as she had the servants decorate the hall for the special day tomorrow. It was her cousin's birthday tomorrow and there was absolutely no way she wouldn't make it outstanding. At least not when she'd gotten permission from him to plan it however she'd wanted.

Standing back, she smiled at how beautiful the hall was starting to look. She wanted to jump out of joy even.

"Don't you think its all too bright. Its a man's birthday not a little girl's." Nathan said as he walked down the stairs. Dressed up in all white and with a coat. He was always in white. Just his face was clearly seen because even his hands had on gloves.

"Is that a new way of saying good morning?." She raised a brow at him. He rolled his eyes just ignoring her.

"I'm going out. I won't be around so do what you want to do."

Vivian saluted as she watched him leave. She then went straight back to work....

Night had come, the moon and stars where out and beautified the dark sky.

"Find my soul." Lucifer uttered to the blood seeking demons as they seeped out to the world...

Alfred was in panic as he paced up and down the room. Jane sat unmoving and shocked. She couldn't believe it. Her beautiful son's soul was the devils?! What had her husband just said? Was it true?

"Listen, you have to leave. Take Nathan and go." He said as she stared deeply at him.

"Is that all? Alfred tell me. Why...why?."

"It was for us. Now you have to go. Nathan is at risk. Your life is at risk. You have to leave."

"And you? Aren't you part of my life? Aren't you at risk too?." Jane's eyes clouded up as she spoke.

Alfred smiled cupping her cheek in his palm. His ever so loving wife was thinking of him in such a time. Even after knowing the truth behind the birth of their beloved son. She wasn't willing to leave without him.....

How peaceful it was. The moon and stars decorating the night sky. Its light blooming the night lilies. Nathan plucked one. Taking in its wonderful scent. So tomorrow was his birthday. He would be twenty. That meant the duke school was next for him. Soon enough he would be leaving for school.

Nathan turner, placing the night lily in the garden fountain. He smiled as it floated on the sparkling water. The flection of the moon in the water made it so clear.

Only the unpleasant growl that came behind him made him frown...
