The Lighthouse

I have to say something, Basically, now that we are past Misty and Brock, I was going to start using actual competitive move sets and Items for trainers and I wanted to ask something, Should it be only for gym leaders and named characters, or also include other trainers?

____

Walking into the lighthouse it was a dark corridor not much was decorating the room besides more carvings of Pokemon on the walls.

Looking around the intercom turned on again, "Thank goodness you know how to make something else, I have been eating nothing but tofu and cup noodles since my cook went on vacation, I like Tofu but not that much."

"Um sure but where are you?" Brock said, looking around the dark room.

"Hold it, I'll be down in a minute, In the meantime there is a phone you can use there if you'd like," the voice said before the intercom cut off.

Everyone looked at the light coming from a computer with a Bellsprout remote.

"Oh cool a videophone," Misty said looking at its weird design.

"Should we call it Professor Oak?" Yellow asked, "You said we are in one of his old assistants' lighthouses, maybe he can tell us something about it."

'Well if it isn't the consequences of my own actions coming back to bite me.' Ash thought since he kinda didn't want to call Oak, "Sure I can't think of a reason why we shouldn't."

"OK," Yellow walked up to the phone, and as she was about to put in the number she realized something and turned to Ash, "I don't know Professor Oak's number."

Ash sighed, walked forward, and called Oak. Then the screen lit up and Oak was there with a hot pot placing some tofu in the pot.

"Ah, Hello Ash and hello Yellow, You two caught me cooking dinner, my cook is out so I have to make myself some Nabe," Oak said.

'I never thought about it but why are both cooks out?' Ash thought as Yellow thought about the Krabby Ash just caught.

"Hey you aren't cooking Ash's new Krabby are you professor" Yellow said with a slightly angry look. (For context Nabe is a Hot pot dish whose main ingredient is usually seafood.)

Oak looked a bit panicked, "No of course not, she is right here" Oak said as he moved the camera to a small crab in a jar. Seeing this Yellow calmed down a bit.

"See this Krabby is fine Besides she is too small," Oak said jokingly, "The one Gary got however would be much more appetizing," Oak said before showing a much bigger crab in a jar next to Ash's.

"Whoa," Brock and Misty said, though Brock said it in surprise, and Misty said it in awe seeing a giant water Pokemon.

"It's huge," Misty said.

Ash had to breathe in and hold himself back from saying something, but anyone could guess what he was thinking. But Pikachu was confused seeing him do that but he just thought he was jealous.

"Where are you by the way? You aren't in any of the Pokecenters registered on my computer, and from the look of that building, you're not in a hotel either.

"Well, do you remember when you talked about your old assistant Bill, the one that basically single-handedly created the teleportation feature?"

Oak looked confused for a bit, "Well yes but it doesn't seem like you are in his cottage."

"Well that's because we are not, we are at his lighthouse," Ash said.

"Really why is he there, he usually never leaves his cottage," Oak said before a voice came from behind them.

"I can answer that question, but first can you help me." Looking behind them they saw a Kabuto and the light turned on.

"W-what Bill is a Pokemon." Yellow said before looking at Brock, "It looks like that Pokemon you have."

"A Kabuto but they are extinct, I only got mine from the league, How is one here and why can it talk," Brock said, seemingly taking this extremely seriously.

Ash walked over to Bill and Pikachu jumped off his shoulder, "You guys realize it is a costume right," he got to Bill and pushed the button on the costume.

Everyone looked a bit sheepish and Pikachu acted like he knew the whole time, "Chu"

As soon as the button was pressed the shell opened and out of it came a young man with brown hair, looking like he was in his late 20s, and had a hoodie, looking more like his manga counterpart instead of his anime version.

He was also quite tall standing at about 6-6'1. This made him the tallest person here since OG Ash was only 4 '7, but now since he actually worked on his body he was catching up to Brock and was 5' 3, Meanwhile, Brock was 5 '7, Misty was 5', and Yellow was the shortest at 4 '6.

As soon as he stepped out of the costume he straightened his back with a crack and said, "Thank you I have been stuck in that suit for hours, I really should have installed longer arms, well for next time." Bill said.

"Why were you in that suit?" Yellow asked, "Did you go to a costume party?"

"Well I wanted to learn more about the extinct Pokemon Kabuto, so what better thing is there than to become it," Bill said proudly.

"I'm surprised you didn't turn yourself into a Pokemon again," Oak said while stirring his food.

"Hey that only happened once - okay two times- three- okay I get your point," Bill said looking down.

"Anyway, why didn't you ask for a Kabuto, with your status, they probably would have given you one with a smile," Oak asked.

"You know I prefer my independent research, that is why I do all of my research from my cabin," Bill said proudly.

"Speaking of which, why are you in a lighthouse? You never leave your cabin, not even to get groceries." Oak asked.

Bill looked a bit sheepish, "Well about that, remember how the prototype teleporter was still in my house." Oak nodded, "Well since I accidentally fused with a Pokemon, I was experimenting to see if I could fuse Pokemon, and it exploded."

Oak stayed silent before starting to laugh, "Bill, Bill, Bill, good to see you're as ambitious as ever you should have told me I would have helped."

Bill laughed, "Well now I have to start from scratch since we got rid of the fusing in the official teleporter."

"Alright well, I'll leave you to it. Email me your research and I can get you some funding, also if you don't mind teaching my young friends what you know about Pokemon, I taught two of them myself you may learn something. "

"Of course, no problem at all thank you, Professor," Bill said.

Smoke was coming out of Oak's pot as he pulled out a burnt piece of Tofu, "Oh no it burnt", then the screen went black.

"Well I suppose introductions are in order," Bill said walking to the group, "As you heard I am the researcher Bill." Then as if on cue his stomach started gurgling.

"Well I guess I should start on Dinner," Brock said, "I'm Brock by the way." before walking off.

"I guess I should help him, by the way, Misty if you want you can call your parents and ask them about the island, or ask Bill I'm sure he knows something," Ash said before walking off to find Brock.

On his way to the kitchen Ash put most of his Pokemon in Hibernation mode, Pokeballs have two settings: normal mode where the Pokemon are still active in the ball, and Hibernation mode where the Pokemon sleeps so much you don't have to worry about them for 3 days. Soon after he shoved the ones in his space so Bill wouldn't find out or question Oak since technically his limit is 8 currently.

The Pokemon he kept were Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Abra, and Clefairy which he released and had them go play or hang out with everyone else.

It didn't take long, especially with help, for all of the food to be made for everyone and the Pokemon. When they reached Bill and the girls everyone released their Pokemon.

Bill also released 3 Pokemon, his Pokemon being Alakazam, Ninetales, and a Venusaur. Bulbasaur especially was interested in speaking to Bill's Venusaur.

"Wow, your Pokemon are all so cool!" Yellow said, trying to pet Ninetales, which it allowed.

"Thanks, I have had them since back when I was a trainer many years ago." Bill said proudly, "All of your Pokemon are also very good. I can see just how well they are trained and fed."

As Bulbasaur was interested in talking to Venusaur, Squirtle stole some of his food. And Clefairy jumped on top of Venusaur playing, Venusaur didn't care it just lay down and started eating. Abra just decided to meditate next to Alakazam.

As everyone started eating Ash looked around the building and saw a large picture of Bill holding an egg next to Professor Oak.

Besides them were 2 younger men.

One was a man in red attire with a Pikachu on his shoulder and a Charizard behind them.

The second person was a man with spiky hair and an arrogant smile, with a Blastoise behind them.

Bill saw him staring at the photo, "That photo was taken years ago, that is the day Red caught the original 149 Pokemon."

"You knew Red and Blue, I thought they were just a fairytale," Misty asked.

"Oh I assure you they were real, I remember when Red caught the Legendary birds, Blue was so salty, he was even more mad after he released them."

"I owe those two more than I could ever pay back, actually Back when I made the prototype I accidentally became a Pokemon human hybrid, if it wasn't for Red I would still have been trapped, and they both teamed up to stop Team Rockets original plan all those years ago."

"Wow, really what happened?" Yellow asked.

Over the food, Bill explained the events of how Team Rocket captured the legendary birds and fused them in an attempt to create the perfect Pokemon. And how Red and Blue stopped it.

"Speaking of which, how many Pokemon do each of you have?" Bill asked and Ash was yelling inside his head.

"Well I have these 4 out now, but most of my other Pokemon are sleeping, and the rest are in Professor Oak's ranch." Ash said with the half-truth, but he knew what Bill would ask so he chose his words carefully to change the direction of the conversion, "Actually he gave me permission to carry more than 6 Pokemon."

Bill immediately forgot about his previous question, "Really, that is so interesting, how did you convince him?"

"I asked," Ash said leaving the room quiet, "You can ask him about it. He told me that once I get the 4th badge he will permit me to carry more Pokemon."

"Interesting," Bill said, "By the way you don't happen to have a Charmander do you?"

Ash was confused by the question, "Well I was going to get one as my starter then it ended up being given away to another kid, but if I find one sure I'll get it why do you ask."

"That is a shame, if you did you would have had the three royal starters of Kanto," Bill said.

'Royal starters? I thought that was just a fan-made term to call the starters as an explanation on why none can find one in the wild.' Ash thought.

"What do you mean by Royal starters?" Yellow asked.

"Well about 800 years or so, the regions were all divided and in war, until eventually new warlords appeared each welding the three starters of each region, together they created a truce and ended the long warfare after taking over each region, Nobunaga was the warlord that took control of Kanto and his trusted Pokemon where Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur. The changes each of the warlords caused in each region made the warlords very popular, and even after their death all of the People honored them by calling their Pokemon, Royal Pokemon."

Ash sat back and started thinking, 'So the events of Pokémon Conquest are cannon here, although why is Nobunaga the warlord of Kanto, I expected it to have been the unnamed protagonist, well Maybe when I get to other regions I can find things about it, after all history is only written by the victors and their side of the story may be completely different.'

So I forgot about Pokémon Conquest, I only wrote the last part last minute since I have been replaying the game. But I wanted to ask something, Should I also cover Pokémon Conquest? I can probably think of some way to put that into the story if People want it, I don't think anyone has ever tried so it seems like something fun to do, just an idea.
