CH 11 | Frienemy and Copium

A.N/ Hello! Do you remember when I was updating every other day/twice a week? Why am I not doing that anymore? Because I'm not that passionate about this (I know your eyes numbed from reading that for the thousandth time. but meh) and also School! I have an exam almost every day! the bullshit?! Anyway, sorry for the slow update and the short chapters.

~Luminous~

As I woke from my short slumber, I looked at the blob railed between my arms. Unlike before, its form was more collected and didn't look like it was melting and breaking under its own weight.

Luminous: "So it worked..."

Reminded by the glimmer of hope that held me from falling away from sanity. The scene of it flashed back to my vision.

~Flash Back~

"I JUST WANT TO PROTECT HIM!!!"

『Notice. Requirement fulfilled. Unique Skill acquired: Protecter』

As the world linked itself to me, notifying me of what I just acquired, a flood of information installed itself in my brain, and the skill inscribed on my soul, I started to feel the moving magicules inside of the blob am holding.

Through the raging storm within my mind, one particular thing shone brightly through the chaos.

'『Life-giving Grace』... A sub-skill of [Protector] that allows the user to completely heal a person on the price of some of their life force and more or less all of their magicules once a day...'

I described it to myself just to be sure, to clear the fog in my mind of hesitation about what it could do.

Luminous: "It's my turn to save you! And... Thank you for staying alive..."

'The consequences seem harsh, but damn all of them! I don't care about the dangers anymore.'

Luminous: "I'm also sorry for my selfishness"

A.N/ some parts that were in the last chapter were skipped. They were omitted for the convenience of the Writer/Author as he (I) was too lazy to put all of those parts in and somehow make them work while staying the same as the last chapter with more parts that were hidden before. It was too finicky, hard, and annoying for the writer to give a damn about.

Though legally, it was for the ease of the readers. As repeating what was said before could prove annoying and needlessly stretch things on. So we (just me) Chose to only give the new and needed parts to the readers so they could understand more, and connect the dots by themselves.

(I dunno. Just thought it was funny so I put it here)

~End of flash back~

I now feel a bit better as I've gotten some rest. My vision still looked to the ocean-blue blob on my hands, I decided it was time to move again.

Before I stood up to move, I cuddled Rimuru, rubbing and caressing him with my hands. Even when walking, I was rubbing him with my hands and face.

Luminous: "I know that you won't love me... you won't accept as more than an acquaintance. I know that I missed up, that I stand no chance anymore. And I'm... fine... with that."

Luminous: "You won't want me to be this close, and... *blush* cuddling with you... but it's fine if you don't know..." (It sounded way better in my head. she isn't a yandere! I swear!)

And I continued walking, until...

Rimuru: "*yeaaaaans* Good morning Luminous... Wait!! weren't we fighting that mutant serpent? What happened?!"

He screamed as soon as he woke up. Thankfully for me, he didn't wake up when I was cuddling him. 'It seemed as if he doesn't quite remember what happened. He looked like he was in a rush, so it make some sense'

Luminous: "We... No. You defeated it and went unconscious because you were depleted of energy"

He looked confused, and in deep thought. He was probably trying to remember what happened.

Rimuru: "Ah!! Right! Am sorry if I went overboard and made you worry about me"

'You better be!'

Luminous: "Don't worry. It was also my fault for being too weak and unable to help. So you shouldn't blame yourself"

Rimuru: "If you say so... Where is its corpse? I need to consume it so it won't go to waste"

Luminous: "You did absorb it. But it looks like you were unconscious, which means that Grate Sage probably did it"

Rimuru: "Yeah. She always helps me, even when I don't ask"

When he talked about Great Sage, I couldn't help but think that he likes her more. She has been with him and is always helping him. 'Yeah. I don't stand a chance...' I couldn't help but slightly pout.

And I continued walking, hoping to get out of this damned cave, I entered a chamber full of water. And as I was about to complain...

Rimuru: "Ah! I remember this place! we are close to getting out!" (I know the water room before Veldora's isn't close to the exit)

He then hopped out of my arms, expanding his size before falling on the water and floating on it.

Rimuru: "You can't swim all this way so that I will act like a boat!"

I stood there, looking at him with open eyes, confused as to how he gets ideas like those(so am I)

Luminous: "S-Sure..."

Seeing as I have no choice, I moved to the edge dividing the rocky ground from the semi-transparent blue water.

'Does he expect me to just go on him? Like, doesn't he feel embarrassed or something? *sigh*, I don't care anymore!'

I took a step back, before dashing forward and hopping on... Rimuru. (The hell am I writing?)

I could feel his entire body wobbling under me when I fell on him. 'Huh, it's like a cushion

Rimuru: "You should get comfortable since it would take a while"

So I did as he said. I noticed that his structure is changing based on my position. When I was done, I was laying with my back bent, and Rimuru's body cushioning me up to my neck with my arms folded over my abdomen.

A.N/I tried!!! and it's just to show her position! I know that the legs are very short and the arm is horribly thin and short. let alone the toes! It looks like it hasn't eaten or drunk anything in a century! but I've rarely ever drawn in my life, the most I do is lightly sketch in computer class.

Note: It took me an hour to draw. And I drew it when I was supposed to study... Also. excuse the bad camera

When I finally positioned myself, Rimuru started to move like a boat atop the water. I couldn't help but be mesmerized by the rays of color gleaming from the many crystals doting the walls and ceiling, reminiscent of a clear starry night sky through the vast, quiet, emptiness. Only complemented more by the tranquil reflection of the water's surface.

And yet, I was disappointed.

'I wish this was... More... Than just traveling over water...'

Despite that, I was in contempt (copium) as this was more than I could ask for.

I closed my eyes, relishing the beautiful moment. Seconds started to seep out of my consciousness as minutes flew by, being finally able to not worry about... everything.

Luminous: "*quiet* Maybe I should've taken more breaks..."

While my thought fled from my mind, softly escaping, riding the passing breeze emanating from the small, vein-like cracks coming from our destination.

Rimuru: "This lake was longer than I expected. But it was nice"

He declared as he stopped, waiting for me to get off.

Luminous: "I agree. It's good to finally have some quiet time"

I said when I reached the ground before peeking behind me, only to find a blob jumping into my embrace. Or at least that's what I like to think.

I caught him and rotated back to go in the only observable direction. It was a jagged slope, looking more like crudely made stares rather than naturally forming stone.

Regardless of the annoyance of the few scratches I acquired from going down such a slope, I started to see a rainbow shine from the side of the corner.

???: "Welcome, little ones!"

Behind a transparent color-shifting wall was an overly glorified joke that can't even hold a shit inside of itself for even a moment.

Luminous: "Little ones? I would never accept such words from a morbidly obese Lobotomiski gecko that can't even differentiate between a Komodo guana and a damned city!"

A.N/ Again, am sorry for being soo late. And also sorry for it being so short, But as I said before, I have no passion whatsoever for writing this. This chapter took me 3 days because I procrastinate with something else, be it youtube or a manhwa (like re-reading TBATD because I left it at chapter 120+ and I don't remember anything)

Also, for those who are confused, Komodo-guana is a Komodo + Iguana. since tensura animals are just a mix between two animals (like Cow-deer) and if you also didn't get what I mean, he couldn't differentiate between a lizard calling for mating and a city.

Another thing: two or three months ago, I was talking with another tensura fanfic author, Lobotomiskii, and told him that I will use his name for something. Now, what does it mean? and why did Luminous use it that way? Find out next week! or maybe more, who knows?

Btw, what do you think about the writing quality in this chapter? sometimes it's meh and others it's somewhat good. and don't judge my art, but roast the fuck out of it and tell me all the criticism you have!
