Evil Brothers and Mothers

Maya's eyes widened with shock when she heard what Nate said.

"Y—y—your older brother? You have an older brother?" Maya asked as she struggled to get all the questions she had out of her head.

Nate nodded slowly as he looked away.

It was then that Maya realized that even when she was with Nate she barely knew him.

She knew that he was originally from the capital city, Vertis, but other than that she knew very little.

He had told her about his mother and father, and how he aspired to have a love like theirs. She knew that he had at least one younger sibling because he would mention someone of that sort.

"Why would your own family want you dead? I wouldn't want to kill any of my younger siblings. Sure I joke around about it, but I'd never kill them," Maya said in disbelief as she learned about why Nate had run.

Nate sighed and shook his head.
