Chapter 236: In the Icy Embrace

"S-sorr...I...I can't hold it," the ice woman or Fei Hong said, as she could no longer suppress the overwhelming fatigue that consumed her. 

Her once striking white hair, now disheveled, fell around her face, framing her delicate features. Her eyes, as blue as the unclouded skies, momentarily lost their brilliance before succumbing to darkness, as she slumped into unconsciousness. 

"Hong'er!" Haoran Hu shouted in concern. He had been diligently observing Fei Hong and sprang into action with a burst of energy when she collapsed.

He swiftly closed the distance between them, and gently scooped her up in a princess carry. 

A mixture of concern and panic was evident on his face as he carefully monitored the rise and fall of her breath, his fingers lightly brushing against the delicate skin of her neck in his worry. 

He longed to check her pulse, but hesitated, aware that doing so may be seen as improper given her current state.
