Chapter 100- Split POV – Emergency Meeting Part 2 (VOLUME 1)

The atmosphere in the condo was tense and thick. This would be one of the moments when my mom would say that you could cut the tension with a knife. I hadn't understood that saying as a kid, but I understood it now. It meant that one wrong move could set fire to everything. It could bring down all the work that you had put into these things so far. And that was something that we didn't want.

However, more than anything else, I didn't want my brother to think that he was winning here. He was an idiot for not even entertaining the idea that all of these attacks were linked and that they were a message for us. What needed to happen for him to figure it all out? Did someone have to die next time? Did the attackers have to parade themselves in front of him?
