Chapter 295: The Beginning Of Everything

A few minutes later...

"What did you say?!"

Jack had just gotten out of bed when the Collector's words startled him, causing him to stumble and almost fall.

"What you heard is true. There's no reason for me to lie to you."

The Collector took out a pocket watch from somewhere, glanced at it, and raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, forgive me, there's one thing I might not have made clear. Until a minute ago, you had been asleep for a total of two years and five months."

"..."

Jack hit his head and paid no attention to the Collector. He was only thinking about one thing at the moment.

He had actually slept for nearly two and a half years!

Things had taken a turn for the worse.

He hadn't returned home for two and a half years, with no contact whatsoever. He couldn't even imagine how worried Wanda must have been.

Thinking about the original cannon, Jack felt a weight in his chest when he thought about the woman who easily turned to the dark side and killed many Illuminati members.

No, he absolutely couldn't let that happen!

With that in mind, he decided to open the portal to his main universe.

But after waiting for a while, there was no response.

"???"

He looked at his own hand in confusion and quickly realized the reason.

Although he had awakened, the power inside him was unstable due to absorbing the power of the Doomsday.

Now he needed some time to adjust.

Probably just an hour or two.

However, he clearly couldn't wait that long.

Jack stood up and started walking out.

"Sorry, guys, we don't have time to talk. I need to get back home."

Seeing him leave without a care in the universe, the Star-Lord looked at each other in confusion.

Then all turned their attention to the hesitant Collector.

"Let's continue the transaction, shall we? Double the price?"

The Collector didn't say much about Jack leaving, but it was clear from his face that he was regretful and upset.

Maybe he had been looking forward to this day for a long time.

"Can you protect this thing?"

But Gamora and Rocket Raccoon, who loved money the most, hesitated when he made the offer.

They had just witnessed the power of this thing. Without Jack here, it would be really difficult for them to survive in this situation.

"That's not something you need to worry about."

The Collector didn't like how Gamora looked doubtful. He felt his authority was being questioned.

"At least for now, no one dares to steal from me."

However, just as he finished speaking, a piercing alarm sounded throughout the Collector's exhibition hall.

"Ha, karma comes quickly."

Rocket Raccoon, the big-mouthed one, couldn't help but mock the Collector.

"What was that you just said?"

"I am Groot?"

The Collector ignored him, but Groot kindly informed Rocket,

"I wasn't asking you! I wasn't really asking him either... Oh well, forget it."

"It's Ronan!"

When the alarm went off, Gamora knew almost immediately what was going on, unlike Rocket.

Only that lunatic Kree would go into the Collector's territory and cause trouble.

The Collector waved his hand and opened a monitor.

The previously calm and properly run Knowhere had turned into chaos.

A massive black warship floated over Knowhere, and black fighters were swarming inside, looking for something.

A lot of Tivan Group mining patrol ships were being shot down like rain, and Kree soldiers with powerful weapons slowly took over the area.

On one of the screens, a Kree with a huge hammer came down from one of the warships.

It was none other than the famous Kree fanatic Ronan the Accuser.

And he was walking steadily toward the Collector's exhibition hall.

"We should get out of there quickly before he finds us. Also, how did he find us?

Star-Lord leaned in close to the screen and looked at it with a very frustrated expression.

But he was even more curious about how this madman managed to find them.

This question was quickly answered.

On the screen, a muscular man holding two small blades charged at Ronan... and then flew back even faster.

In that instant, Star-Lord and Gamora understood what had happened.

"What an idiot!"

It was obvious that the simple-minded destroyer Drax had brought Ronan here.

He first thought that Drax wanted to fight Ronan, but it turned out that Drax had come for business, which made him angry.

"Tivan, do you have any solutions?"

As more and more Kree surrounded them on the screen, Gamora had no choice but to seek help from the Collector. Otherwise, they probably wouldn't survive today.

"You don't have to do anything."

The Collector acted like nothing had happened. He found a chair and sat down quietly, looking at the mess on the screen and enjoying it.

"???"

Gamora still didn't understand, and at that moment, Rocket suddenly spoke up.

"Hey, I need to know, did the man who just awoke charge Ronan?"

Gamora swiftly turned her head and indeed saw Jack hurrying towards Ronan on the monitor.

Ronan clearly noticed this "fearless warrior" and thought it was provoking him. He raised his hammer, ready to do something.

Then, a burst of dazzling light erupted on the screen, and when the light dissipated, everyone saw.

Ronan was gone, leaving only his hammer and... a pile of unknown black ashes.

After finishing all this, Jack didn't stop.

It was like he had just killed an insect that didn't matter. He stepped over the ashes, took a few quick steps, and then flew into the void.

Outside, Jack glanced at the Dark Aster, its cannons pointed at him.

He didn't want to waste time with them, so he used his strong heat vision to split the huge warship in two.

"Watcher, I know you can hear me. Open the door, I want to go home!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a silver-white teleportation portal appeared suddenly in front of him.

"At least you still feel bad about what you did."

Seeing this scene, Jack breathed a sigh of relief. He was actually worried that the big-headed Watcher wouldn't help him.

The portal opened, and without hesitation, Jack quickly entered.

The portal closed behind him.

After flying through a dazzling array of cosmic rifts, Jack flew for a full hour before finally returning to his own universe.

In the main universe, outside of Earth, a teleportation portal appeared, and a figure quickly flew out before the portal disappeared.

"Damn it, it's just not as easy as using my own powers!"

Jack grumbled a couple of times. If he had opened the portal himself, he could have returned here in an instant without having to fly for so long.

What made him even more annoyed was that the bald bighead could have directly sent him back, but instead, he had to fly back on his own.

"By the way, what year is it in this universe?"

Looking at the Earth in front of him, Jack nervously swallowed his saliva. Before he could investigate, someone answered him.

"It's already 2008 here, the beginning of everything."
