The lonely throne

A breath left his body as he enjoyed his second of peace, as king of a whole kingdom things are strenous. At the very least he didn't have the deal with disputes from the humans yet having enough food within their closed off borders was a bigger worry.

Pushing his chair back, it took a mere second before he was at the opposite side of the room, he gazed down at the peaceful surrounding. Much more peaceful then his desk that was pratically filled with paperwork, piles never ending

He didn't know how his wife did, keep track of everything while also giving sufficient attention to their two beautiful children.

The day cole had barged into the castle with news of a pregnancy was one of the most shocking days, he could see it in her eyes how a whole new universe had openened. To our greatest pleasure it was true.

Even as the king he could feel his emotion shift, he had already formed expectations for the little child, even though it was yet to be born.

And somehow the boy exceeded even that, because he could see a strange connection between the boy named Adrian and Aethelstan. A bond that formed between anyone was rare but it had never occured between two entirely different races.

Realizing he was putting off work he went back, just before sitting down his body stilled. Wary he let his magic free in the surroundings before immediately dashing away.

Having felt the magic of Aethelstan going haywire, his mind went to the possibilities off the elf's state would affect Adrian.

Not risking it, a voice transmission went to Cole.

'Cole, get the other doctors ready and meet in Adrian's room. Aethelstan's magic is unstable!'

'Yes, your highness. We'll be there soon.'

Soon after he got a transmission from his wife, telling him she was on her way.

'Bring the kids.'

'..Is that wise?

Aethelstan is not someone who would lose control of his magic so easily.'

'As our heirs they should be aware of situations that could effect the future.'

Silence greeted him but he know his wife agreed, having arrived he looked at the broken door and could already guess who's fault it was.

'Your highness!'' Ignoring the chants he ventured inside and stilled once more at the overly suffocating surroundings.

Black pools took in the way Aethelstan was laying on the bed completely rigid, there was nothing else out of the ordinary.

That was until the five year old got placed besides Aethelstan and a light so bright enveloped the room. Exactly one half gold, the other silver. Yet deep from within the silver depths rose a evil, slimy green colour.

So it didn't have anything to do with their bond?

He was aware of his daughter speaking up but his attention focused solely on the magical properties in the magic ,that had been strong, yet where now diminshing one by one.

Evil magic had grown so strong that it fully took over Aethelstan's side. Adrian's part, the golden, tried to seep in the silver to help out but it was a meaningless endeaver as the green was heading in Adrian's direction.

It was no doubt going to curropt the boy aswell but they wouldn't see it as a figure moved and ripped Adrian away from Aethelstan, his golden light vanished with him. With that the last bit of resistance as silver dissapeared together with the owner's heartbeat.

Even the green vanished bit by bit until a mocking green got etched into the air for just a short while.

The marquis of hell.

Considering what he knew about the marquis of hell ,his eyes burned holes into the five year old, it would make more sense that he used the bond to get to Adrian

But that would be impossible, no one except him, the parents and the two in question knew about the existance.

Burying Aethelstan had quite a few implications, well he had expected Angesi to leave he didn't except her to follow Aethelstan. Having made contact with Andras magic she got curropted from the inside out and because of the elf's death she stopped fighting, especially after figuring out she couldn't take revenge.

Her once burning ember dimmed and so did her life.

Everything went relatively okay afterwards. The lose of the bond and Aethelstan hedn't impacted Adrian that much as he had feared. In fact the boy was growing at a terrifying rate.

Years had passed and all was peaceful as decorations where put up for the sixteenth birthday of one Adrian Amdis Acheron.

His people hadn't been made aware of the boy's existence after the death of Aethelstan, they had all decided it was better kept secret to ensure his safety.

All moved on well, the only weird thing was the birthday boy in question was nowhere to be seen. Having made his whole day empty for the occasion he went and looked for him.

The stroll throughout the castle was a quiet one and while he enjoyed it at a certain point it got suspicious.

It was only when he had reached the hallway of Adrian's room that his suspisious got confirmed.

A familair eveil magic was in the air, as blood rose up in it. With one step after another he walked to the door and opened it.

Immediately it halted, a dead body stuck behind. Waving his hand, the body rolled over, a quard.

Now truly opening the door, it didn't take long before the bodies of maids and quards appeared in his sight. The whole hallway was filled, each one deliberatly staked through their hart, in a most painful manner.

Despite the length of their wounds there wasn't a single drop of blood to be found, not even drenched in the clothes or hair.

Someone went out of his or her way to lure them all here, either one by one to kill them seperatly or all in one group before starting a slaughter party.

But who would...?

"Adrian?" Disbelief crossed his face as the room came into view.

Adrian stood there in the biggest pool of pool, right in front of hi....

"Emiris?! Dakaria?!!.

He felt himself moving on reflex, hands engulfing thin shoulders and began shaking the much younger vampire.

"What have you done!!" The proof was right there, two stakes through his parents hary as he just laughed.

"Do you think this is funny?!"

"Yes, yes it's so funny! Hehehe don't you think so?"

The words where spoken with such conviction that his grip loosened until his hand fell by his side.

It was only a second where turmoil brewed within him but soon mana started circulating rapidly on his palm.

"I shall kill you and bring relief to everyone you murdered."

Words had left him in calmly as he expected what he had to do, his mana formed a stake like thing around his hand, pulling back he plunged.

Blood that had otherwhise stayed a silent, rose up and in second formed a wall that caused his mana stake to shatter.

Quarding and putting space between them eh questioned "Why are you doing this?"

"Why?" "Yes, why?" "Hmm maybe because you killed him.''

Surprise filled him. "Did you do this because of Aethelstan? You said you didn't remember him!''

"I lied. How could I not? We had a bond before I was even born, he was half of my soul and half of my heart He was present in a way no one ever was and no over ever will be

"He died-'' the little tornado of blood swirled faster "when you where just five"

"That doesn't mean anything. the bond was a strong one, at first I noticed it just a little. But then I started asking and got no answer, all of you just went on with life while I lost a part of myself." "Adrian." "Every moment was filled with deep pain and sorrow, i tried to deal with. Have fun, love and joy but it didn't help. In the end it just made me emotionless, it made me this.

Trying to reason with Adrian his hand slowly reached out in a welcoming way. ''We never intended-"

"It doesn't matter if you intended it or not.

It still happened and look at this result.

It's lovely isn't it? Look at them, having breathed their last together.

How romantic hahhahahga"

"You psycho!" Letting his magic press down on the other , he only saw Adrian's figure flicker before a grin stretched across his pale features.

Dread filled him as the next words reached him.

"I have long since left. But be sure that you shall feel the same anguish I felt, every moment of pain will be repaid.

It's just...I can't take you on...however I can take on your wife."

With a devilish smile Adrian faded and he ran, words echoed in his head. Her study was protected but nonetheless after his fast arrival he anxiously waited for jus a second before staunchly ingnoring his tremors and placing his hand on the lock, that clicked open.

The scent of blood hit once more, with a gathering of courage he openend his eyes to the expectant sight, the door splintered beneath his grasp as his heart broke in pieces, just like Adrian had said.

Pullingup one feet up after another he went to his beloved, staked and stuck on the wall with the same devilish smile next to her. Made with her blood.

Painstakingly obvious was the fact that every single drop of blood was present, it drenched her hair, pale skin and the clothes he had chosen for her just this morning.

How could everything have gone so wrong?

Breat-hing in through his nose, he steadied the broken pieces of his heart and carefully pulled out the stake, her still warm blood splattered on his face. In a trance he caught her and dropped to his kness, fingers traced her ashen face as lips met lips for the last time.

Picking up her frail body he soon found himself in their bedroom, lowering her down on their bed.

Briskly he turned, seetting his resolve.

Coming weeks consisted of burying the fallen people and putting out a danger alert on Adrian Amdis Acheron.

The boy once destined witht he survival of the vampires.

While he got the necessary backlash, he had quickly solved them making an example of the audacius ones.

They where warned, he had done all he needed to do and weeks had passed yet the pain was still burning in his none beating heart.

Years later the pain still didn't lessen, Adrian hadn't been seen and while he longed for revenge he now understood the pain and torment the boy had gone through losing someone so close to his heart.

Staring at the peaceful night sky he murmured. "Even surrounded by a thousand, my soul and heart still weeps with grieve because your not here right next to me
