In 30 minutes, the servants from the Villa arrived but also an unexpected old man came with them too. Abigail stared at the old man wondering if he was hired by her husband, she didn't want old servants roaming in the mansion as she had lots of respect for them.
Standing up from the couch she was sitting on, she made her way toward the door. "Grandpa, are you alright? Would you like to take a sit?" Abigail asked the moment she got to the door, her face holding a slight look of worry in them.
The servants bowed their heads to greet her, "Young Mistress". Abigail nodded her head and gazed at the grandpa who wasn't something to her, " Is he new here? Or was he employed recently?" Abigail asked the head maid.
The head maid's eyes widened in shock and bought surprise, she opened her mouth to explain when she caught the glare she was receiving from the master of the house. "mmm. Yes, Mistress." The head maid remarked nodding hesitantly.
Abigail frowned at her words, "Why would your master hire an old grandpa like this? This grandpa is supposed to be getting enough rest in his house, I mean look at the sweat on his face." Abigail remarked clicking her tongue in distaste at her husband's choice.
"Someone get him a glass of water to drink from," Abigail ordered and pointed towards the couch for him to take a seat, the old man nodded at her and walked towards the couch taking a seat on a single couch.
A smile appeared on his face that Abigail could not see, he had decided to get her married to his grandson after meeting her at the restaurant. It seemed to him, he had made a perfect choice after all. She was a sweet and nice girl, she was also respectful to elders, he wanted nothing other that his granddaughter-in-law.
The maids came with the water and handed it over to Abigail. Abigail nodded at them and directed them to take her luggage to the room, she then turned and walked towards old man Josh a smile pasted on her face.
Old man Josh accepted it with a smile and drank from it, he handed her the glass when he was done and she placed it down on the table. As she opened her mouth to speak, she heard a sound from above.
"Grandpa you are here?" Elias asked standing on the last step of the staircase, he cocked his brows to see him sitting with Abigail.
He had gone upstairs to his study to stop himself from having further arguments with his wife, he had expected her to go after him but that did not happen so he had come back down to check what she was doing. He was surprised to find her handing a glass of water to someone and then taking it back, on a closer look he saw it was his grandpa.
"Grandpa? Who are you calling grandpa? Isn't this the old man you recently employed? How can you be so low to employ someone so feeble?" Abigail fired at him without listening to his words, she had wanted to scold him before now she had the chance to.
At that moment Old man Josh's driver also walked into the living room, "Employed? Who got employed? My grandfather?" Elias asked stepping closer to where they were sitting, he glanced at Abigail and his grandfather simultaneously.
Old man Josh stifled a chuckle within him seeing their interactions, he felt he could die happily from seeing this. "Master, young master, young miss." Old man Josh's assistant bowed respectfully to the three of them, he did not feel the reason not to.
"He is your grandfather? The one you were speaking about?" Abigail muttered asking with wide eyes, she stood up from her chair and walked back. "But the maids said he was a newly employed servant here....." Abigail trailed off a look of confusion appearing on her face.
"Young Miss, This is Old Man Josh. The head of the Josh household and the grandfather of young master Elias, he is also the chairman of Universal empire and also your grandfather-in-law." Old Man Josh's assistant took the liberty to explain, seeing how the young miss was looking confused.
"His Grandfather?" Abigail pointed at Elias and the assistant nodded.
Elias rolled his eyes before turning to the old man, "Do you always have a kink for acting like a servant or you felt like it today?" Elias asked.
"Don't talk to your grandfather like that, come take a sit beside me grand daughter in law. I see my grandson failed to enlighten you about me." Old man Josh said, a bright smile appearing on his wrinkled face. He was gazing kindly at Abigail.
Abigail had a confused look on her face but she tried her best not to act like one, she took slow steps toward her husband's grandpa. "See you frightened her, please stop acting like a servant in front of people. The people in your company may be shocked to find out about it." Elias said taking a sit opposite them.
"My unfilial grandson, you failed to inform your grandfather of your lovely marriage so I came here to send my congratulations. I couldn't buy fruits tho." Old Man Josh remarked, he held a nonchalant demeanor like the one Elias usually had on.
Abigail studied the both of them, she could see where the man got his iciness from and his unclotted tongue. "There was no need to inform you, as you already knew about it didn't it? Or did you think I wouldn't find out?" Elias questioned piercing his gaze into the old man.
"Dear, why don't you serve us a glass of juice? come on you may go now." Old man Josh ordered Abigail, who willingly stood up. She didn't want to be in the middle of them.
After Abigail left, the smile on the old man's face turned into a smirk instead. "I knew you would find out, after all, you are my grandson. a chip off the old block."
"Very funny, I do not know what you are going on about. I did what you asked me to do, I think you have to stick to your promise now." Elias said with a straight face, he wasn't in the mood for jokes.
He had received a report about the old man switching his bride, it seemed she was not sent from the enemy but how did the old man know about her then? It was a mystery and a game he was looking forward to playing too.
"Ah, I knew you would ask about it. Well I brought the papers but there is a little swing in it, you did not expect me to play fair did you?" Old man Josh questioned stretching his hand forward to take the papers from his assistant.
The assistant handed over the file he was holding to the old man, Old man josh then handed it to Elias. "Playing dirty lays in the blood of the Josh clan, it is not a surprise if you did play dirty too," Elias said like he already expected it from the onset.
"Ha ha, haha. You have grown up boy, here is the twist. I will be handing you 65% of my shares now, which would make you the chairman and give you equal power as I have in the company. You get to grab the other 35% if you give me a grandchild soon." Old man Josh remarked with a proud smirk.
