Unfinished Business

It took a few seconds before the dust finally settled. The fight, though arduous, had come to its conclusion and Hade's indomitable spirit had secured his triumph.

Saul lay motionless on the ground, his once imposing and regal presence reduced to a mere shadow. The coherent energy sphere had ravaged his combat suit and had proceeded to burn parts of his torso and face.

Apparently, the school-supplied body combat suits were not nearly as invincible as Hade had first thought. Clearly, they too had a limit to the total amount of damage they could take.

Bear in mind, Saul was still breathing, though faintly. Overall, his injuries were only flesh wounds that could easily be healed with some Life magic.
