Lise hummed in thought as she crouched beside me, "Throw a stone? Maybe an arrow?"

 

Possible. It was the oldest trick in the book; throw a stone at someone and they'll look at something else instead of the person trying to sneak in. Granted, such a thing would be suspicious from the get-go, but did we really have any other choice in the matter? Unless we wanted to leave bodies behind, it was the safest and quietest way to sneak in without alerting them.

 

"Yeah..." I nodded in assent as I felt the ground for any sort of stone I could use. "Get to the other side. I'll throw this straight at him."

 

My sister immediately caught my drift as she palmed a stone of her own. With a slight nod, she made her way to the other side of the gate just behind a stray pile of junk. Meanwhile, I was already in position as I carefully aimed my stone straight at the guard's helmeted face.
