Chapter 10: The Hunt Begins (part 2)

"Captain!"

Arnoux, who was discussing with his team, turned around, and everyone noticed Zam in the distance.

Arnoux raised his eyebrows, sensing that Zam had already reached the first layer of Body Tempering. Shortly after he arrived, everyone could see his beaming smile.

"Zam, congratulations on your breakthrough," Arnoux said with a smile, feeling delighted that the village had gained another warrior.

"Captain, our village will thrive! This place is a treasure trove!" Zam couldn't contain his excitement, leaving everyone puzzled. They wondered why he appeared as if he had just won the lottery.

Observing the confusion on everyone's faces, Zam enthusiastically recounted his experiences. He shared how he had slain a first-layer wolf with a half-step realm. Everyone regarded him as if he were mad, and even Arnoux couldn't help but admire the man's courage.

Zam continued to explain his breakthrough, leaving everyone dumbfounded.

"Zam, you're not joking, are you?" Nox asked skeptically.

"Why would I joke about something like this? Do I seem like the kind of person who jokes around in serious situations?"

"You're right. If Nox had said the same thing, I wouldn't have believed it either," Eryx remarked, without caring if Nox overheard him. As for Nox, he simply whistled playfully, pretending not to hear anything.

"If what you're saying is true, then this is a tremendous opportunity for our village," Arnoux stated, causing everyone to become serious and excited. Who wouldn't want to become a cultivator? Most of them had resigned themselves to the belief that they couldn't become cultivators in this lifetime. After all, they were already in their thirties and hadn't even reached the starting point of the Body Tempering Realm.

Now that they had been given a chance, they were determined to seize it tightly.

Witnessing the eager expressions on everyone's faces, Arnoux wasted no time.

"Alright, let's hunt these wolves... But I need to remind you all that we won't engage if we encounter a pack of wolves. According to what Zam has observed so far, he hasn't come across any other monsters in the vicinity. Therefore, there might be a wolf den nearby. And I don't need to remind you all how dangerous monster dens can be, right?" Arnoux looked at everyone sternly, instantly sobering them up and making them shudder.

"We'll keep that in mind, Captain," everyone responded solemnly, as they still held deep respect for their leader. Despite lacking the advantages of cultivation practice, he had managed to reach the second layer of Body Tempering—a remarkable achievement deserving of admiration.

Arnoux's group then began to move, only engaging in fights if they believed their group could handle it.
