Chapter 121:Sunday for the Sheriff

Adjusting her hidden triangular sword, Xio only let out a sigh as she entered Bravehearts Bar.

This time she hadn't been able to get much information about the policemen. If the information in the newspapers was anything to go by then Holmes had already taken care of Clark Down.

'I have to work hard to get that formula, there hasn't been a Blood Moon in a long time and I don't know how much time we have before the ravings arrive....' Xio thought worriedly as she passed the doors of Bravehearts Bar.

At the time of entering all the drunks who were there turned to look at who it was, when they saw that it was the threatening Xio Derecha they moved from the road pale.

'Cowards' Xio thought as she approached the bartender who was watching how some drunks left the bar at high speed.

He did not regret much about this, they would return.

Looking into the green eyes of the petite woman he already knew what she wanted.

"First floor, poker room" he said without looking at her while cleaning a glass.

Xio didn't say anything, just nodded and headed into the room.

Opening the door she ran into the same scene as always.

Men with a cold aura like corpses playing cards and the Old Man sitting to the side drinking what seemed to be wine.

Approaching the only one that didn't have that cold aura, she reached into her vest and pulled out an envelope sealed with a yellow seal.

"For Mr. B"

The Old Man looked at the letter and shook his head as he placed his glass on the table.

"Mr. B says that the commission is over."

'What?' Xio thought frozen, her heart had sunk and she felt as if it had stopped beating.

'But I thought I did a good job...'

'Was I cheated?'

'Did Holmes lie?'

'How can I save Fors now?'

'Will I have to see her die in front of my eyes?'

'I will lose another sister....' All kinds of thoughts filled Xio's mind and she could feel her vision blurring.

The old man then took out an envelope from his pocket and handed it to Xio who snapped out of her spell and looked at the envelope in surprise as she grabbed it.

"This is for you" said the old man and with that done the man got up and grabbed a book that was next to him, he went to one of the free tables.

Xio couldn't care in the least about this but she broke the seal on the envelope and took out the letter.

_ Dear Miss_

The information you gave me was very useful, and thanks to it I was able to catch Clark Down.

Unfortunately due to a friendly chat I had with him I learned that the rest of the policemen will be untraceable so the commission is over.

But don't worry because your work with Clark will be enough to sell you the Trickmaster formula.

I am also willing to sell you the formula at half price if you give me the Sequence 9 Apprentice potion formula. Considering you need the Sequence 8 potion formula then you have a Sequence 9 friend. Getting it shouldn't be a problem.

I'm not sure when you will read this letter so we will meet at the abandoned Ceramics factory in East Borough this coming Wednesday.

_J.H_

"Praise the Goddess" Xio couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief as she touched her chest four times counterclockwise in a circle.

'Holmes can be very provocative but he's not a liar when it comes to dealings... Overthink for nothing...' Xio thought as she tucked the letter into her vest and left the poker room and Bravehearts Bar.

.....

Hearing how the door of her house was opened, Fors quickly got up from the sofa where she was lying.

Arranging the pillows and grabbing her notebook and pencils she began to write, trying to look like she was working.

"Welcome Xio, you came back early" Fors said with a smile trying to hide her sleepiness.

Xio who just entered the room saw this with a flat face.

"..." Raising an eyebrow she pointed to the drool that left a trail on Fors's face.

"Shit..." Fors cursed under her breath as she quickly rubbed her hand across her cheek to wipe away the drool.

"It was just a nap! *PLOP*" Fors was interrupted in the middle of her sentence because Xio threw a piece of paper to her face.

Removing the paper from her face, Fors gave an embarrassed smile at her friend who was looking at her with a flat face.

"Sorry..." Xio raised her hand while cutting off Fors who closed her mouth.

"Read it" she said pointing to the paper and Fors raised an eyebrow as she looked at the paper.

Her drool stained the paper a bit but it hadn't touched the red ink on it so she had no trouble reading it.

The more she read her other eyebrow rose until they both almost touched her scalp.

She looked at Xio in a daze and the short woman nodded.

"Do you remember the formula?"

Fors came out of her surprise and jumped up from the sofa.

"Yes! I kept it under my bed!!" Fors said recovering from her daze.

But as soon as she said that she saw Xio give her a look with a raised eyebrow.

"Hehe" Fors said with a small blush as she looked away.

Xio at the childishness of her friend, she only sighed while shaking her head.

"On Wednesday we will get the formula and on Friday we will go to Mr. A's party to get the ingredients and that same day you will advance, do you understand?" Xio said seriously and Fors nodded strongly.

Fors felt the pressure in her friend's tone and she knew there was nothing she could do so she just accepted it.

Seeing that the message had been understood, Xio nodded with a strong look.

"You can take these days to rest, you will need the energy on Friday"

Fors felt tears form in her eyes upon hearing that.

'How am I supposed to rest with what you just said!' Fors wailed internally as she nodded again at Xio's words.

"Yes ma'am!"

"Don't call me that"

.....

Monday 3:00 p.m....

In Sefira Castle, in the magnificent palace, on the old and musty long bonze table.

Klein watched as the two figures appeared in a crimson flash while another appeared in a torrent of crimson and black fire.

Klein already had his Spirit Vision activated, he looked at Audrey's figure that was forming. He wasn't surprised to see how the colors deep within her aura had mixed. They had become serene and pure.

'She has already become a Beyonder' just before he moved his gaze, Klein saw how the stars on the back of Audrey's chair were moving swiftly, forming a constellation that did not belong to reality.

'Giant Dragon?' Klein stopped himself from shaking his head and using his control over the gray fog, he saw the back of Alger's chair.

'Windstorm'

'The colors deep within his aura grew stronger. Chariot really guessed it was for his promotion...Seaferer...I wonder what sequence it is, 7 or 6?' Pushing those thoughts aside, he used his control over the gray fog again to see the symbol on the back of Adryan's chair.

He saw the illusory constellation that formed the flaming red tip of a spear.

'War and Power... Which Pathway does this symbol represents?' Klein thought curiously but he resisted the urge to look at Chariot for fear of being discovered by him, like the Hanged Man had been last Monday.

The bullying that the man receive was still fresh in his mind.

'I don't know if he has the guts to make that same movement with me but just in case I better not look at him' Klein decided.

Tapping the long table three times like just like before, and smiled as he said.

"Congratulations Miss Justice, you are now a Beyonder"

'He can notice it so fast?' Audrey was stunned and smiled faintly.

"Thank you Mr. Fool, and thank you, Mr. Hanged Man."

"That was a lot faster than I thought," Alger said honestly.

"Hehe Mr. Hanged Man don't tell me you forgot that Miss Justice is a noble? It would be very strange if she hadn't become a Beyonder by now." Adryan said amused.

"Congratulations on advancing to Sequence 7, by the way." Adryan added matter-of-factly as if it were no big deal.

"Thank you Mr. Chariot" Alger said tensely.

He was no longer a Folk of Rage so it was easier for him to control himself but that didn't mean anything when Chariot arrived.

'We haven't even been in the meeting for 3 minutes and they're already fighting...'

' Mr. Chariot, you really can't help but bully Mr. Hanged Man right?' Klein thought as the corners of his mouth twitched slightly. He was looking at the poor Hanged Man.

Trying to prevent the assault from continuing, Klein tapped his glabella twice and said with a smile.

"Gentlemen, Miss, did any of you manage to get hold of Roselle's Diary?"
