"Tired?" Iris asked, a breeze caressed her rosy cheeks. "Come here…" she patted her lap.

Who would be able to turn down such a tempting offer? Obviously not Cane, because the next second, he dropped his head onto her lap. He was bone weary and couldn't care less about his surroundings, the only thing that he knew, he was surrounded by this blissful scent of his mate. Not to mention the way she caressed his head which eased him to sleep faster.

It wasn't long before Cane fell into a deep slumber, while they were taking shelter under the shade of the trees, as the sun appeared from the horizon behind them.

Iris ran her fingers through his hair, as she occasionally kissed his forehead. Cane was too comfortable to even shift in his sleep. He slept like a baby and for once, Iris could see a young man, who had exhausted his energy to survive in this cruel world.
