The auction continued in this fashion where the workers would place an item on the stand before the woman would present it. Then after, the guests would bid with their might if said item interested them.

But although most of the people bid in the crowd, the total amount of each item never went over 10 million since they wanted to save their money for the surprise.

And it wasn't that much of a waste if they didn't like the last item since they could always come another day when the auction house was open where new things would be auctioned off.

Robin was simply sitting quite in his room while waiting for his diamond to arrive. He had seen similar diamonds get presented in the auction but they were not red.

Of course, it's to be expected since only a few red diamonds are found around the world every year. And it seemed to be that this auction didn't have any of them, except for Robin's.

That would only make the diamond rarer and the price of the crystal would skyrocket.

" We are now near the end. For the item that we'll be auctioning off now is a painting. It is none other than a failed version of the famous Mona Lisa. Drawn by the man himself, Leonardo Da Vinci."

The crowd instantly became hyped as this was something a goldy figure drew. Although it was a failed version, something drawn by Da Vinci was considered valuable and beautiful to look at.

With the original painting being considered priceless or speculated to be worth a billion dollars. This one would probably also cost fairly high.

People in the crowd had even wondered if this was the surprise. But since the woman hadn't announced that, they simply gave up the thought.

" The starting bid for this painting will be 5 million dollars."

" 5,1 million dollars."

" 5,4 million dollars."

" 5,5 million dollars."

Directly after, the crowd started shouting while placing their bids. Since this was something they absolutely had to get.

After a few minutes of fierce fighting, the painting was sold to the woman in the red dress sitting in the crowd for 12,7 million dollars.

Although her real goal was the upcoming surprise. The painting had instead interested her much more. But she still tried to keep the amount to as little as possible.

The woman only increased the amount by a hundred dollars for each bid. And soon after, the other competitors got mad and simply gave up the painting.

And inside the small room, Robin could be seen observing the painting for a while before focusing back on the stage where they were getting ready for the last item.

This whole auction was something that had tired him out. He was never near people who would simply bid large amounts of money for a little bit of satisfaction. But he wasn't complaining since they were the ones who would help him become rich.

Soon after the place got quiet while waiting for the woman on the stage to speak. Yet another worker could be seen entering the stage before placing a grande-looking chest on the stand.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we thank you for participating in our auction today. As we now have arrived at the end, we would like to present to you the last but not least item. A red diamond.

It weighs 15 carats, which is simply unheard of. And the quality of the gem is considered to be top-notch." She said while opening a small chest that had the diamond inside.

The crowd was blinded by the large red diamond in front of them all. What shocked them all, was how big the diamond was. When they heard the woman inform the size of the diamond, they simply brushed it off and thought that they misheard.

But once they had taken a look at the diamond, their pupils seemed to have popped out of their eyes. But more and different emotions could be seen emitted from the crowd apart from shock.

some people got mad because they had already used up all of their money on other items at the start of the auction, which they greatly regretted now. While others were smiling to their teeth since they thought that they had the chance to win this treasure.

Inside the small room on the right of Robin's, a young girl was sitting with her butler standing behind her.

The girl had red hair that reached her shoulders. She wore a white sweater with a black mini-dress under it, and under the whole auction, she could be seen playing with her hair while seemingly waiting for something.

If Robin saw her now, he would only describe her as an angel that was sent from heaven.

When the red diamond appeared on the stage, the girl jumped onto the couch before she then looked back at the butler.

"Alfred, Alfred look. It's beautiful, I wonder if mom would like it as a birthday gift? What do you think?" She said while looking at him with a smile

" I think it would be a great gift milady. I'm sure your mother would be happy as long as you gave her something." Alfred said as he looked back at her

" Blurrgh, you're no fun, Alfred. Alright, I've chosen to give this cute diamond to mom. Help me win it, Alfred." She stuck her tongue out at him

" Yes, Milady."

And on the other side of Robin's booth, an old man with hair and a beard that was grey could be seen watching the ongoing auction.

He had already bid on other items such as a necklace and had won every single one of them. The reason was that the people in the crowd simply didn't want to offend someone with a high status for an item.

The world was all about connections, so they would do their best to form them. Not try their hardest to make enemies.

The old man had on a white suit that seemingly matched his hair, and in his right hand, he was holding a cane indicating that he had problems with walking.

But the most surprising thing in the room was the shadows in the back who were ready to jump any people that came inside the room. This showed that the old man could be a part of a gang or a secret organization unknown to the public.

"Now let the final bidding commence with the starting price at 10 million dollars." As everyone heard the woman finish speaking. Quite a few people started bidding already.

" 11 million"

" 12 million"

"15 million"

The bidding continued while the price skyrocketed every second. A minute after the bidding, it had already reached 40 million dollars and still continued at a fast pace.

Most of the people in the crowd had already given up the first few seconds since the price was simply too high. But others like the woman in the dress didn't give up and continued to bid.

But that didn't last long since they had already blown past their budget and were making calls asking if they had enough money, just to get crushed when the girl in the room bid a staggering number of 65 million dollars.

That's when all the other competitors except the ones in the rooms stopped bidding since the price was simply too high.

The old man and the little girl continued to outbid each other while raising the price by a million dollars for each bid. This continued for a while before the price reached 97 million dollars.

And as the girl was about to bid yet again while gritting her teeth furiously showcasing a mean look on her face that was in no way close to the one from before. The butler stopped her before she could while pleading with the girl.

" Milady you must stop, it's not worth bidding so much for a single diamond."

" But I want to give this gift to mother." She said as tears threatened to spill out of her eyes.

" I'm sure we can find something else that would please the mistress."

" But, but."

*SIGH*

" Alright, but if mom doesn't like the other gift, then I'll put the blame on you." She said while regaining her cheerful attitude.

The two then proceeded to walk out the door before heading for the exit forgetting all about the auction that was still ongoing.
