Chapter 328: Escape

If she wanted to fight the man for a longer period or even have a good chance of winning, she was going to need access to a much larger source of water.

Kaidou continued his barrage of attacks. Despite his massive size, he was extremely fast and agile.

'And on top of this, he is drunk…can Luffy win against this man?' She wondered.

She was moving as much water as she could from a nearby river and it would arrive at her position in around a minute or two.

Thanks to the last month of training, she was now able to maintain her awakening for a much longer period of time.

So, despite her previous fights, Vivi still had a lot of stamina left.

'Should I go all out and try to kill Kaidou right now?.' She was trying to find her best option.

Vivi had a lot of faith in her Captain, but she knew well enough that she was currently much stronger than him.

Just after fighting Kaidou for a bit, she easily reached the conclusion that Luffy had no chance of winning against this monster.

'But if I do that…I would be taking away his path.'

Luffy is the type that grows stronger while facing challenges. But if those challenges are taken away….

'He will never become the Pirate King if I am the one who kills Kaidou.' Vivi realized.

If Luffy cannot grow stronger here…he will die on the next oponent. It could be at the hands of Blackbeard, some Admiral, an Elder, or someone else entirely.

She now wished she had more information about what was supposed to happen here in Wano.

In her previous world, she died when this arc had just begun so she is going in blind now.

Of course, she was sure that everything worked out in the end for the Strawhats. It always does.

But this was not the same story anymore. This was the real world for her now. And characters who were not meant to die…could die at any moment.

She was the very proof of that.

Crocodile, Bellamy, the CP9, and several others were now dead, while in the original story were still alive.

This also applies to her friends…any of them could die at any moment.

That idea terrifies her.

'And yet…I have made up my mind…'

"I will believe in my Captain," Vivi said.

"What are you yapping about?, woman!. Stop moving so much!" Kaidou bashed the ground next to her, creating another crater.

The area has become completely unrecognizable since the start of their fight.

This used to be a beautiful park…now is a wasteland. The pond disappeared when Kaidou used his laser and the whole terrain has been filled with craters.

"What a waste…you don't deserve to be in charge of this land. You obviously don't care for it." Said Vivi.

"Huh?, are you talking about Wano?, of course I care for it. This place is a useful tool to achieve my goals. I now have the strongest army, and soon…the One Piece will be mine!"

"That's not what caring means…talking with you is a waste of my time. Let's end this." Vivi's white eyes became more intense.

"Oh?, are you ready to fight seriously then?" Kaidou smiled.

"No." A gigantic wave came rushing from behind her.

"What?!, where did that come from?" Kaidou shouted.

Vivi jumped back and was submerged in the water while Kaidou was pushed in the opposite direction by the torrent of water.

The mass of water converged together until it formed a colossal figure made of ice.

The figure attacked at the confused Emperor and this one blocked with his metal club.

"That's more like it!" He laughed, simply enjoying the thrill of the fight.

Kaidoun went on the offensive. He imbued his iron club with Conqueror Haki and crushed on of the golem's arms.

The two of them went back and forth, exchanging attacks.

What Kaidou didn't realize at the moment was that Vivi had already escaped and he was only facing a simple ice puppet.
