The knife whizzed across the table at lightning speed; if you were blinking, you would miss me throwing it, and whizzed passed King Nicholas's right cheek, then stabbed itself into the wall behind him, causing a mighty wind to blast through the air as it went by.
No one spoke nor moved.
And when King Nicholas opened his eyes in shock, his right cheek had a thin red line across from where the knife had cut him and a single thin line of blood trailing down his cheek.
"That," I snarled, "was a warning. Next time I will not miss your fucking face. I wanted Aurona here so she could keep things civil between you two, your sons, and me. Unfortunately, that's not going to happen now, is it? You should be grateful to her, 'she' was the reason I didn't take both Prince Arthur and Prince Leon's heads right then and there on the Academy grounds."
King Nicholas slowly brought a hand on his cheek in shock while King Micheal's mouth was wide open.
"Prince Darien! How could you say such a thing about your childhood fri-" King Micheal started to shout at me but quickly shut up when a fork was thrown in the same manner at him as the knife thrown at King Nicholas.
"I'm sorry, what? 'Childhood friends?' Do NOT make me laugh!" I shout, causing the walls to vibrate slightly.
Samuel shifted in his seat next to me but didn't stop my yelling, knowing it needed to be said.
"HOW THE FUCK WERE THESE TWO PRICKS 'CHILDHOOD FRIENDS' OF MINE WHEN ONE PULLED A SWORD ON ME, AND THE OTHER TOOK A DEFENSIVE STANCE AGAINST ME?!" I boomed, and the grand windows on the walls behind my father and mother's seats started to shake and crack.
I growled, and my eyes started to glow dangerously.
"If these two are supposed to be my so-called 'friends,' why did they protect a bitch they met for two fucking seconds and not someone they supposedly know their whole lives? The answer is simple: they aren't my fucking 'friends.' Prince Arthur is always telling me to act a certain way around others and to be someone people will approach easily. Fuck that! IF YOU CAN'T APPROACH ME ON YOUR OWN, YOU'VE GOT AN ISSUE, NOT ME. Prince Leon? Not much better! What kind of 'friend' micromanages every little thing I do?! Take today, for example!!!! I didn't attend the event my parents held this morning, so? WHO FUCKING CARES?!?! PRINCE LEON SCUFFED AT MY ABSENCE AND LECTURED ME WHEN MY PARENTS DIDN'T EVEN GIVE A SHIT!!"
With every word out of my mouth, the walls continued to vibrate until they shook violently, and the windows cracked and were on the urge of shattering.
"I DARE you to tell me these two pricks are still loyal to me...I FUCKING DARE YOU!!!!!" I hollered.
That's when the windows and walls couldn't handle it anymore. The window glass exploded, sending glass all over the place. The walls were either in puzzles of cracks or came crashing down.
All because I was yelling.
Once I realized what had happened because of my anger, I froze, and my eyes widened in disbelief.
**Did I just do that? I mean, I know I'm pissed and all, but still. I don't even think my father has gotten this angry before...** I started muttering in my head.
"Does any more need said, or do you two see the damage your sons have caused to this Empire?" A stern and icy female voice spoke, breaking me out of my thoughts.
When I looked for the source, I couldn't believe who it was. It was my mother, who was now standing from her seat next to my father, and my father was quietly sitting in his seat, looking across the table like a statue.
"Your sons have brought my son not only anger but to the point of destruction. And you dared to question and blame my son for your sons' wrongdoings." My mother sneered.
My eyes went wide, and my lips tightened.
**I have never seen my mother act like this before...like...at all. I've heard rumors about it, but I've never seen it. Now I know why they call her a zero to 180 when she's 100% pissed.**
My mother is known to flirt with people. She'd mess with them and, most times, leave them with a nosebleed and their heads in the clouds of both confusion and their fantasies...and then she'd kick their ass when they came back to reality.
But...
There were rare times my mother was serious. She is so severe that she's a different person, and it makes my father quiet the whole time she's like that.
Now that I'm seeing my mother like this for myself, I know why.
Her once-folded closed wings are now wide open in a way that shows the inside feathers yet folded, so the outer rims of the backsides are exposed, and every white part of her feathers glow with holy light while the black tips send off wisps of shadowed dark energy in the air. Her eyes which were once light green, are now a radioactive green and are glowing with a deadly gaze. Her spiked halo, usually just hovers peacefully, is now broken into separate spikes and is spiraling slowly around her head as if warning someone to say something that will piss her off. Her hair was moving as if the wind was blowing through it, but there was no wind in the room.
My mother looked pissed, and for the first time in my life, I was scared of my mother.
"King Micheal, King Nicholas? I'll ask you again: do you see the damage your sons have caused this Empire?" My mother asked in a cold tone that sent shivers down everyone's spines.
"We have, Your Majesty." King Micheal says softly.
"Yes...We have, Your Majesty." King Nicholas agrees in the same tone.
Prince Arthur and Prince Leon quiver and shutter, and my mother turn her gaze to them.
"You boys got something to add?" She asks calmly but in a dangerous tone.
They jump a bit at her gaze and nod.
"I-i apologize for my wrongdoing, Your Highness, Your Majesty, and Prince Darien. I did not mean any harm! I J-j-ust wanted to protect the lady from harm!" Prince Arthur rambles out.
"Indeed! I-i know that Prince Darien can protect himself and all, b-but I know he can also b-be a b-b-bit rough when he gets angered s-so I only pulled my sword to protect myself, Prince Arthur, and the maiden!" Prince Leon hurried to add.
My mother's eyes narrowed, and she went to speak, but I laughed dryly.
"So you agree on protecting the bitch instead of calming me down? Good to know!" I say while clapping my hands in a pissed-off manner.
My father smirked, knowing that gesture all too well.
It was a habit I picked up from him at an early age; from what Samuel and Aurona said, I'd clap my hands in applause when I was pissed at someone admitting what they did wrong, and then I'd beat the shit out of them, just like my father.
But I had a better idea, or at least to me, it seemed like one.
"Father? Mother? Remind me again, what punishment was given to those who stand against the Empire~?" I asked, grinning a pissed-off grin.
My mother smirked, and my father smiled a wicked smile.
"That's what I thought it was, Prince Arthur and Prince Leon. As of this moment, I, Prince Darien of the Withergate Empire, have decided that both of you are not fit to stay within my Empire. Your fathers may stay within, but you will have no title here. Those in this hall are my witnesses. Oh, and King Micheal? King Nicholas? If you go against my decision, I'll allow you to, but just be prepared because your kingdoms will no longer be part of this Empire and then will be ripped to shreds. Try me." I state, crossing my arms over my chest.
The Heavenly Kingdom and The Eros Kingdom's rulers and princes looked at me in terror. At the same time, both my parents, King Lucifer and Samuel pounded on the floor once with their feet, acknowledging that they respected my decision.
After fifteen minutes of my parents, King Lucifer, Samuel, and I kicking King Nicholas, King Micheal, Prince Arthur, and Prince Leon out of the castle, I was tired.
I went to my room, and once the door was closed, I threw myself onto my bed and let out the loudest and most extended sigh of exhaustion I could ever muster.
"That took way too much out of me..." I grumbled into the bed sheets.
My room was quiet and dark, mainly because it was almost nightfall, so I decided to call it quits and bathe before hitting the hay early.
Once done soaking in some stress-relieving oils in the tub, I changed into my silk pajamas and crashed right into my sheets.
"Today was just hell...fucking...hell..." I mumbled into my pillow, pulling the sheets over my back and wings with my tail.
"Would you like me to close the bed's curtain, Darien?" A voice said.
I nodded once, not giving a shit about who was talking; I was too tired to care.
The person giggles and closes the curtain around my bed, so I'm in complete darkness.
"You're lucky I'll be here when you wake up, dork." the voice said, moving hair out my face as I turned my head to the side.
"Shut it...trying...to...sleep..." I mumbled before falling into a deep sleep.
