Chapter 50: The Blame Game

Liz fluttered around me and smiled. “You look perfect,” she said.

I turned to look in the mirror. The white dress seemed a little over the top. It was off the shoulder, and it was tight. There was a slit in the dress that stopped at my upper thigh. “It’s just an engagement party,” I said.

“This is nothing compared to what that wedding dress will look like,” Liz teased.

My hair was piled on top of my head in a bun surrounded by tight bouncy curls. Liz wore a strapless blue dress that stopped mid-thigh. It was the same color as her maid-of-honor dress would be.

A soft knock on the door made both of us turn around. Holly, Ellie, and Kae came into the room. Holly and Dakota had made things official a couple of weeks after Halloween.
