A Demon?

Luhan stared at the palace again as he paced in the woods. His face was covered with cold sweat when he felt a swoosh of wind behind his back and finally his stiff shoulders loosen.

"Oh lord, you are finally here!" That was the hardest three hours of his life! He swore he had never been this worried even when he had gone for war.

Out of thin air, a man appeared who smiled and then started walking.

"My lord, I heard that the area is not raining enough. And not only that…"

"Would you stay silent Luhan?" he asked cutting her, "could you not see i am busy!" no! He could not see.

He stared at his master who was just standing and doing nothing. More than that, his master had never refused work.

What had changed!

Before he could ask again, his master waved his hands in the mid air and disappeared again.

"Oh great!"

Thea slept well in her room. No one dared to interrupt her after the commotion of yesterday. Even when everyone joined the breakfast table, no one asked for her presence.

When she finally woke up after a long time, her body felt rejuvenated. She had to find a way to meet that man again and take another treatment.

After she had coughed dark blood, she was getting better and better.

After taking a good bath, when she ordered the food, the maids stood behind her with a serene look when remembered something and suddenly asked.

"Why is it so silent in the palace? I am getting bored. Bring me the information tablet for today." Her voice did not show any excitement that could draw the attention of the maids but her words were enough to cause a stir in the silent room.

"That.. my lady.. All the information tablets were burnt and there is none left." said the maid with a bow of her head as she looked afraid that Thea would punish them again.

"Burnt! Why?" she blinked her eyes innocently as she stared at the maid in confusion who looked at others for help.

When one of the brave one came forward,

"My lady, there was some news about the second miss but we are not sure what it was! Your highness ordered the knights to burn all the information tables circulating in the whole capital. So, it would be difficult to find one not only in the palace but anywhere."

Thea raised a brow! She had underestimated the power of the duke. He burnt it as if the whole empire belonged to him.

But she was assured that he would never find the source. She had hidden it too well.

Taking another bite of the food, she waved to the maid to come closer.

"Why? What did it contain exactly? You can tell me!" the maid hesitated but in the end shook her head again when Thea sighed and left the room.

Once she was down, the whole palace was silent as if it was mourning.

She went and sat in the parlor but her mother was not there. She walked to the garden when she noticed that the doors of the palace were closed, something that had never happened before.

"Why are the doors closed?" she asked a guard who hesitated.

"Your highness asked us to close the door and not to take any visitors for the whole week." hmm! So they were trying to oppress everyone!

But if the fire would not spread. How was she going to warm her hands.

A smirk formed on her lips as she kept walking and when no one was watching her, she jumped the wall using the thin tree as leverage.

Reaching on the other side, she used her magic and reached the market in no time.

Going to a shop, she asked for a burnt information tablet and then rewrote it.

Once she was done, she casted a spell she knew she would need today after hearing the maids.

"Oh my! Is this news true?" she asked in a loud voice while hiding her face under a veil when many were attracted to her.

"Then even have pictures. I never thought that the elder lady of the house of duke would be this bold. But isn't it fine? After all, they are going to get married."

"...." her soft chuckles were only met with deafening silence as no one dared to correct her that this was the second daughter in the pictures with her brother in law.

"Hey you! Do you not know that using an information tablet is denied today? Give it to us?" the guards came following hearing the commotion when she raised a brow.

Everyone here had an affinity to magic so it took them no time to cast a spell to burn the tablet again but.. It did not work?

They stared at it and then at the girl with a confused face.

"You! She had casted a forbidden magic on the tablet, sir Falrom." complained the knight to his seniors when he was not able to get rid of it when Thea frowned.

She had heard about forbidden spells. It makes their user weak and gives them curse and punishment for their greed and sons. But she was sure she had only used the book of basic magic and did not dip into dark necromancy.

Moreover she did not feel any kind of pain.

But the knights frowned and tried again. This time they were sure that the young knight was right.

"A demon! She is a demon not a witch! Catch her and burn her to the stakes."
